One treatment of Weed Be Gone won’t do it. It takes repeated treatments & I think you have to get them before they mature.
I am not suggesting that you do this, but massive sprinklings with lawn treatment with included weed killer should do it. Of course it kills the grass, so I’m just sayin that it would probably work, but the place could look worse.

I’ve gotten several emails from BNP fans who are upset about my “biased” coverage of them. This came from the Czech Republic:

Interesting how when you report about the BNP, you call them “Holocaust
deniers” yet fail to mention that Nick Griffin has repeatedly recanted
any “revisionist” statements he may have made and has brought Jewish
members into the BNP. No one can force you to like the BNP, but your
bias and lack of objectivity and fairness is all too clear. Recall that
just a few a years ago, the UK establishment tried to put Griffin away
for SEVEN YEARS for declaring in a closed meeting that Islam was “a
wicked religion” and that the next attacks on British soil would be
carried out by UK-born Muslims (He turned out to be absolutely correct.)
So who is the true fascist here? Add to this the incredible PC hate laws
in the UK, which cause even preschoolers to be hauled before the police
for alleged racism and others to be arrested merely for flying the flag
of St. George. England is turning into a police state, with more
surveillance cameras than anywhere in the world. You don”t live there,
you don
t know your arse from your elbow. Why not read the BNP website
sometime, and get the OTHER side of the story? Just today, Nick Griffin
was violently attacked by “Antifa” thugs as he tried to watch election
results. Who is the real fascist here?

We have several in the yard (the avatar one was way out in the woods) and they vary somewhat in color, from brown to gray. The males have blue on the bottom. I don’t know if she has the power to change her viewers’ political affiliations from Democrat to Republican or vice versa (and I’m guessing those viewers are mostly Democrats given my assumption that she is viewed by many as a Black leader). I could see her being able to influence her viewers to go for Obama over Clinton in the primaries. And if my assumption is correct that her viewers are majority black, they would have voted for Obama in the presidential election anyway, for historical reasons, in my opinion. I guess the question is, can Oprah or someone like her influence a sizable group of people to do anything more involved than buying this or that book or buying this or that sweater, etc…

re: #204 Flyers1974

No kidding? My neighbor gave me a saucer filled with morning glory seeds that I’ve been to lazy to plant yet. You are saying they are invasive, I take it?

Kudzu. They are gorgeous kudzu.

If you want to plant them, make sure you do it in a container and set them climbing on something that won’t come in contact with any other plants or soil. They grow like crazy, so they’re very high maintenance. If you’re into that, you can have a beautiful vine with the most gorgeous flowers that bloom very heavily. But let it go even a little and you’ve got problems.

Google “Morning Glory” and you’ll see all kinds of gardening sites with questions about getting rid of the stuff. It has to be pulled out (which causes it to spread if you don’t do part 2 of the plan) and then broad leaf weed killer (IIRC) sprayed, and then the entire area of soil covered so absolutely no sunlight gets to it for a period of months.

It. Is. Evil. o_O
