I’ve gotten several emails from BNP fans who are upset about my “biased” coverage of the BNP and leader Nick Griffin (left). This one came from the Czech Republic, with (fake) return address magadogg@bitchbite.com and subject line: Go BNP!

Interesting how when you report about the BNP, you call them “Holocaust deniers” yet fail to mention that Nick Griffin has repeatedly recanted any “revisionist” statements he may have made and has brought Jewish members into the BNP. No one can force you to like the BNP, but your bias and lack of objectivity and fairness is all too clear. Recall that just a few a years ago, the UK establishment tried to put Griffin away for SEVEN YEARS for declaring in a closed meeting that Islam was “a wicked religion” and that the next attacks on British soil would be carried out by UK-born Muslims (He turned out to be absolutely correct.) So who is the true fascist here? Add to this the incredible PC hate laws in the UK, which cause even preschoolers to be hauled before the police for alleged racism and others to be arrested merely for flying the flag of St. George. England is turning into a police state, with more surveillance cameras than anywhere in the world. You don“t live there, you don
t know your arse from your elbow. Why not read the BNP website sometime, and get the OTHER side of the story? Just today, Nick Griffin was violently attacked by ”Antifa” thugs as he tried to watch election results. Who is the real fascist here?

Well, I just spent a lovely, fun time fishing through the BNP's slick web site. It took me a few tries to verify what wikipedia said, (my favorite hint was the lovely picture of the white family with a caption that reads: People like you, voting BNP).

Here's a piece from their mission statement:

Mission Statement

The British National Party exists to secure a future for the indigenous peoples of these islands in the North Atlantic which have been our homeland for millennia.

We use the term indigenous to describe the people whose ancestors were the earliest settlers here after the last great Ice Age and which have been complemented by the historic migrations from mainland Europe.

Dear Mr. Griffin: This descendant of northern Europeans doesn't need to put other people down to feel of value.

How people can do this to senior citizens, I cannot imagine. Despicable. And most mystifying of all, is that the criminal left a trail of virtual breadcrumbs directly to their front door: It was basically impossible to not catch them at their crime! I mean, they ordered clothing in the their own unusual size, using a fraudulently obtained credit card, and had it FedEx'ed directly to their own home! And they made the order using their own phone! How stupid can you get?

And the infuriating part? Even though they are self-evidently guilty, they will probably never be punished. The police told me that ID fraud against seniors happens dozens of times per day in this county, and that there is such a backlog that only a tiny percentage ever go to trial.

Insist on pressing charges. I've met lots of police who are incredibly lazy. Our house was broken into once, the police had to be prodded into actually walking around the property to see the basement window they smashed to get in, and couldn't be bothered to collect any evidence or even look inside. "Ya got homeowner's insurance, dontcha?" As soon as I said "yes," their job of providing a police report to back up my claim was done. They never even asked for an inventory of stolen items.

So you may have to be belligerent about this, but make sure the police know you insist on pressing charges, are willing to testify, be deposed, etcetera etcetera etcetera. And be sure to follow up, in case it starts slipping through the cracks.

Amazon thought it was odd, did not fill the order, e-mailed me, then when I did not respond immediately, they put a hold on my account. So it didn't cost me a penny, and all I had to do was get a new card and set up a new Amazon account. The guy even retyped my wish list in by hand. They are awesome.

(Semi-seriously... IMHO, international relations is a lot more like poker than like chess.)

"Why?", you may all ask, in unison? [crickets]

Well, because unlike in poker, and unlike in real life geopolitics, in chess:

-Only two can play at a time; there is no chance that you'll face more than one opponent playing against you at the same time.
-Both players start out with exactly the same resources, in exactly the same position.
-Every move made by each player is completely transparent to the other. One cannot bluff in chess. (One can feint, but that's different.)

Don't forget that in chess, chance does not enter in to the game (other than your draw of opponent.) In real life, luck and chance are a big part of the equation. Like, for example, discovering 30 year spies just before a round of negotiations.

At this stage, money is just 1's and 0' in a database somewhere. It is sooo easy to steal. But also just as easy to get caught.

Speaking of gift cards: Chinese hackers broke the encryption code for iTunes gift cards, and were selling them for 30¢ on the dollar. It was basically like printing money. Hell, even easier -- they didn't have to print anything unless they got an order. A money factory.

Don't know how or if Apple staunched that problem.

re: #44 zombie

Meanwhile, I am in identity-fraud hell. A very sneaky and very bad person has stolen the identity of an elderly relative of mine, and it is now my responsibility to untangle the mess. Ugliness abounds.

My son-in-law in Germany had his crdt card numbers stolen. The perps spent 1000.00 on Nike's, Hennessy Whiskey, and Pizza delivery. The NYC cops said there really isn't anything they can do.

Victimless crime my ass. That 1000 came right out of the kids checking account which made their car payment and buys my grandkids food. one hour with them, that's all I ask.

West Bank Settlements and the Future of U.S.-Israeli Relations

Amid the rhetoric of U.S. President Barack Obama’s speech June 4 in Cairo, there was one substantial indication of change, not in the U.S. relationship to the Islamic world but in the U.S. relationship to Israel. This shift actually emerged prior to the speech, and the speech merely touched on it. But it is not a minor change and it must not be underestimated. It has every opportunity of growing into a major breach between Israel and the United States.

Not looking good.

00:50 U.S. official: Russia wary of growing Iranian threat (AP)

Well I'll go way out a wing here and wonder then why the fuck they are helping them build a Nuclear Complex? But that's just me.

Actually, helping them build a power plant isn't a bad idea. It ensures that the design makes it difficult to convert the plant to produce weapons-grade materials. It also helps with inventory control and oversight. And even if the plant is seized at some future date, it would be difficult to retool for weapons production.

A home-grown plant, on the other hand, will be designed to do whatever the Iranians want, and there will be no checks on fuel or output products of any kind.

At least, that's one possibility. Hard to know without more details on exactly what the Russians are proposing. But a Middle East full of nuclear armed Muslims isn't something that's going to sit well with Moscow.

Going to the cops is the right move. Be persistent. Call and write the detectives weekly to ask about progress. If they've already made their case and an arrest, call and write the state attorney. The defendant may plead out, avoiding a trial.

Ms. Hannah is somewhat moonbattish, I think, but I really admire her for her work to save women and children from sexual slavery/forced prostitution. She was put into such a situation as a young lady, and she escaped with another girl out a window, so she has a personal stake in the issue. More power to her.

Well it maybe years before we ever talk Chess again..
My greatest game...I was playing this guy that was really good..intimidating to say the least..At the end game it was really tight but he had the upper hand and would soon mate me again...It was like 1000 to 0 about then..
But I saw something..I saw a mate if I could just get him to move the Queen one space..And he would be dead...But how to get him to move that Queen..
That was the question..that was the plan.. After a while i said forget it..I moved my rook to take a pawn..Stupid right? Please take it with the queen..but no he took it with his Bishop with a laugh.. Dang it! Well one more rook left..I took the bishop with my last rook..Right in from of the Queen..Completely open kill.. He laughs again and takes the rook without studying the position..
He wasn't laughing with Queen take pawn mate.
Bam! Greatest chess game of all time for me..

Sometimes it's possible to bifurcate the asset sale from the rest of the case. If the sale goes through, Chrysler receives cash, stock or some combination of assets in exchange for the assets. The issue then becomes how Chrysler proposes to distribute those assets through the reorganization plan.

I don't know whether this order disposes of the entire bankruptcy case, or whether there are more legal battles to come.

That's why my first redo didn't work. My hard drive went up - it was replaced for free (had service thing). I downloaded a driver that the manufacturer said was the updated driver for the sound card, but the sound went wacko and kaboomb. I am going to tread very carefully this time. The thing is, I have a nice Bose system to plug in! I want my sound back!

Wow! Yes be careful with the driver or patch..
The thing is..The way Vista is designed no device driver has permission to call into Ring one of the Kernel. Those calls are handled way out in 3th and 4th levels. Something isn't right...Sorry you had and issue..
Ya gotta have sound!

So, I'm at the Post Office today and there is a young black guy and a white woman there out front with a big sign showing Obama alongside Hitler. Lyndon LaRouche and his supporters are actually comparing Obama to Hitler.

I just shake my head.

When I come out he starts lecturing me on how Obama is turning America into a fascist state, and how we need to fight back. I'm like, dude, Hitler? Really? Shit man, that is making the rest of us who don't support Obama look like a bunch of assholes too.

He then proceeds to tell me that I am uninformed and I need to learn history and pay attention to what this administration is doing.

Right.

There is an old lady just fuming at him. She yells at him "I was there! I know what Hitler did! Don't you lecture me about Hitler!"

When I point out that Obama will never ever murder 10 million innocent people he responds that Obama's policies will cause the deaths of millions.

What a freakin idiot.

I spent about 5 minutes pointing out how his comparison to Hitler is offensive to both sides before I realized this young punk knows it all and I will never convince him of anything.

Have a nice day.

Two of the officials said the U.S. was prepared to give Palau up to $200 million in development, budget support and other assistance in return for accepting the Uighurs.

I may say that they have a point here. We DON'T know for sure what has been going on post-9/11 in Europe. We've seen a lot of appeasement by government officials and we've seen push back by the populace in form of extremism, including a tentative embracement of fascism. People in EU seem desperate. Where do they have to turn? The establishment? It's embodied by appeasement efforts and social welfare programs targeted to "immigrants." There is a shout-back and it looks like the BNP, et al is opening their arms, lacking any viable alternatives. Have we seen this confusion and dichotomy before? Oh, yes. 1932.

I really am adverse to using macs, because of software issues.
But that about the only reason, Linix even more so.
So I am torn between XP 64 and Vista 64.
Opinion?

I run Vista64 on my MacBook pro. I also have Ubuntu (Linux).
I like it, Vista 64 (course I'm a geek) you have to have signed drivers, wireless is flaky and you need serious horsepower especially graphics card to run it decently.

Windows 7 is coming out shortly, they might fix some of the driver things and wireless, horsepower requirements won't change.

For proven stability XP64.

Important, AA587 had a vert stab separate in '01 over Long Island. When it separated during the sequence of events will be an important also.

I thought about the Long Island crash as well.

I am leaning toward XP 64, its cheaper by 200 bucks, and looks like fewer issues with software.
Just gathering thoughts from the lizard army. ;)

I myself set up a dual boot system with XP and Vista. A 64-bit version of XP would have fewer issues, but it would still have issues by the mere fact its a 64-bit OS. The "Vista" program issues are a whole additional ball game.

You don't gain much running x64 unless you have a monster processor and a ton of memory.. In the Enterprise world..We see server performance gains..but on the Client side there just isn't the support there..Hardly anybody ports apps in 64 that plays nice with our 32 bit apps...

I deserve it, no need for explainin'
If I say so, it must be true
If I don't get it, you will hear complainin'
And I'll make life hell for you

I got tired of learning what defeat meant
So here comes my primal scream;

It probably would have come off when the plane broke apart at altitude, given the size of the debris field. But if it came off first in a wind shear I don't think it would have taken the situation 13 minutes to develop.

I'm going through the allegations of British excess on the pc front. Even if it turns out that Griffin was unfairly treated, this is still no reason to support the BNP. Given the former home secretary's complete cock-up of banning HWSNBN (yes, I read the LGF dictionary) from Britain, I wouldn't be at all surprised if she or her like-minded colleagues had a go at Griffin.

I did locate the following story in a well known British paper, "This is Wiltshire". It also appeared in some loony rag known as "The Daily Telegraph".

SOG
shots on goal, clear advantage for the Pens, they have to win this game in order to stay alive. Wings can hang back and wait for them to make mistakes. The Wings are the best transitional team in the entire league, meaning they can change from defending to attack in a heartbeat and a sweet breakout pass can lead easily to a 2 on 1 breakaway with the goalie left out to dry. Bang, red light goal.

I wouldn't bother with either, XP 64 is actualy very good but it is on the fast track to extinction, and Vista is too quirky.

On my machine I have a triple boot, XP Pro 32bit in case something goes wrong, and Windows 7 32-bit on another partition and Windows 7 64-bit on yet another.

So far everything installs and works great on the Windows 7 32-bit, and only a couple finicky programs won't install. The added features and speed is very good.

You can get both versions for free until June of 2010, by then many programs will have written installers for the 64 bit and you can make your purchase then.

Actually Morris consulted with the UKIP. Morris tried to get the UKIP to tailor a populist message which would take support from the BNP without descending into racism.

Morris then left the UKIP and, late last year, various UKIP bigwigs started playing footsie with the BNP. At that point, if I recall correctly, Charles took notice enough to run occasional posts blasting the UKIP and Morris both.

Agreed, the better policy is to take them head on and beat them through reasoned argument - not that this is a challenge with that lot - but the mistake that the Media and political elites have made is to simply ignore them, this concedes part of the field to them and gives them more votes than they'd garner if examined and debated.

402 abolitionist  Tue, Jun 9, 2009 9:21:05pm

On computers of OS's...

In Jan '07 I bought two identical laptops with XP-Pro (32bit). They arrived together, but it turned out they were not set up quite identically. One had a tendency to overheat. Turned out the difference was in a bios setting. One had the CPU going full bore, always with clock and variable voltage at the max, never idling down. Fixed that. But by spring of last year, both had self destructed due to crappy design/manufacture of lid and hinges. With too much stress concentrated in small areas using composite plastics and tiny screws, cracks and then breakage developed similarly at the left hinge in both, and ultimately the displays failed. I think it's unfair that such failures are a windfall for M$. Other than that, the lack of any power management utility, and the fact that sleep and hibernation never worked, I liked XP Pro.

In august of last year, I bought two identical Acer Aspire 6920's on sale at Circuit City. They came with Dual Core CPU @2GHz, 4 GB ram, 250 GB HD, 1366x768 displays, and Vista64 Home Premium, SP1. They had decent power management utilities by Acer, and the sleep and hibernate fns worked. After uninstalling the McAfee AV (non-trivial), turning off several resource-hogging startup apps, and tweeking the power options, they could operate over 4 hours on battery, with CPU utilization typically in the 0.5% to 2% range.

Only one gave me any problems in terms of OS and software. It apparently got stuck in a weird state subsequent to a Windows Update which I think did not properly complete, and it would not power up properly. With safe mode, there was no keyboard/mouse response, so I could not logon, and with normal boot, display would remain black, so not even the logon screen would appear. At one point, I even saw a Windows XP Pro signon. True, I swear.

I eventually tricked Vista into repairing itself, but I don't want to describe in detail how, lest someone else try it and screw up their machine. (Briefly, it involved hitting the power button when, uh, er, you really shouldn't.) I think those problems were somehow related to Bonjour, which gets installed automatically with QuickTime, iTunes, or any of several other Apple programs. After turning off the Bonjour-related services, and using AutoRuns to toggle off their startup options (in ALL the accounts, including the 2 system accounts), but leaving Bonjour undisturbed in Add/Remove programs, and then successfully completing a Windows Update, the OS startup issues did not recur.

Last Nov, bought a 3rd one for myself when on sale again, to reduce contention between my daughters. I hesitated because CC had made a subtle change in the specs --2 AH rating for the battery instead of 4 AH, but it turned out to be the same 4 AH battery as for the other 2 units. The larger cross-section construction of the hinges is appreciated. But alas, last week, after handling the unit by the top edge of the display, I find the LCD is now cracked near top center, or possibly the connector is not quite intact. So it's out of service for now.

My only other problems with Vista have been occasional wifi connection issues requiring restarts of my wireless router, and loss of scroll fn on the touchpad after certain videos play. Only fix/workaround for the touchpad issue seems to be rebooting the OS. Minor, but really annoying.

My 98se desktop from 2002 still works fine, except for an uncorrectable HD error. It was dead for 6 months after a lightning strike about 30 feet away. Turned out that a damaged modem card was preventing even the bios POST from working (not even beeps), but it was otherwise ok, and booted after removing the modem.

The XP Pro deskstop that I'd bought to replace it has never booted up. Big part of the problem was really really crappy power connectors and cabling, with intermittent failures in multiple places. Imagine the crappiest flashlight you ever owned. Yet another win for M$.

THey have at least one "fully" Jewish elected official (Patricia Richardson, see above). She is probably a "beard", of course. Or an Atlas Shrieks type that is playing "enemy of my enemy".

My take on it is a variant on Vlaams Belang, except maybe for the "generational rift" issue which the latter had. [I do think there are some younger people in VB who were never fascists to begin with.] Types like Griffin (who comes from a political family, albeit Tory, not "white nationalist") realized at one point that things like open racism, antisemitism and Shoah effectively limit their appeal to a small population segment (at least absent social upheaval on the scale of the late Weimar republic). But if he had a real "conversion" experience on the issue and started vocally repudiating these beliefs (rather than quietly dismissing them as relics of the past) he would lose the hardcore thugs that got him started and possibly risk assassination at their hands as a "traitor". So he tries to have it both ways.

And of course, when a party like that takes up serious issues that should be addressed (brainless multiculturalism, unchecked immigration, Islamism, Euro-skepticism), they "poison the well" for any serious debate on them. Similar story with VB.

re: #21 Occasional Reader

Is this statement true? Anyone know?

It's true that Griffin claimed that he could get seven years in prison for making that statement; actually he said so when making the statement. It's also correct that Griffin was charged with four offences of "using words or behaviour intented or likely to stir up racial hatred". He was found not guilty by court, Leeds Crown Court; which I am quite convinced is part of "the establishment". He celebrated the latest of those victories by drinking champagne donated by Le Pen. See more: [Link: www.antisemitism.org.il...]

Of course, he should have never been charged in the first place, banning speech is morally doubtful and going after Griffin in this way was counterproductive. It allowed him to portray himself as a martyr for free speech role - it's a long-standing fascist tradition, by the way: Image: hitlerfips.jpg

Seven years in prison would have been an extremely unlikely outcome if Griffin was actionally convicted. He was however charged under the Public Order Act of 1986 and it is correct that the maximum sentence under that Act is seven years' imprisonment. Actually, Griffin had been convicted under the same law before (in 1998) and received a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and was fined £2,300. The charge was then based on the content of the magazine The Rune, that's also where he referred to the Holocaust as Holohoax. See more: [Link: news.bbc.co.uk...]

As the BNP site has been sanitised and lots of stuff is continously thrown down the memory hole, it is difficult to find some of the more recent anti-Semitic statements there. However, his close connections to David Duke speaks volumes. Here's an interesting video:

The subtext is, All the suffering you have is because you wanted to find out what was going on. You could be in the Garden of Eden if you had just kept your mouth shut and hadn't asked any questions. -- Playboy Interview, April 1993
