Tech Note: Post Comments in LGF Spy

Here’s how it works — you click the little green magnifying glass at the bottom right of an article (in the line of icons that includes Email, Print, and Favorites). This brings you to the LGF Spy page for that individual thread.

Note! Clicking the LGF Spy link in the ‘Logged In’ box at top left brings you to a different page that shows all of the comments and ratings as they occur, in all threads. Clicking the link at the bottom right of an article brings you to the page showing only the incoming comments for that article.

If you have an LGF account and you’re logged in, when you click on the spy icon at bottom right of an article you’ll see a brand new comment posting form to the right of the scrolling comments, which remains stationary at the top of the screen as the comments scroll on the left. The display is updated every two seconds.

You can post a comment using all the standard LGF tools. Each comment in the left half of the display has a “reply” and “quote” button, which inserts either a plain link to the comment to which you’re replying, or a link and quote from the comment.

You have spell checking, preview, and all the other features you’ve come to expect from LGF. This turns any LGF thread into a self-contained chat room.

Here’s a direct link to this thread’s Spy page to give it the acid test…
