Tech Note: Mobile Posting in the LGF Spy

Technology • Views: 3,978

Here’s an open tech thread — I’ve been testing the LGF Spy with my iPhone and it turns out to work really well for posting comments. In a regular comment thread, when the HTML page gets very large the iPhone’s Safari browser bogs down, and even crashes; makes it not too practical for comment posting.

But in the LGF Spy commenting system, the iPhone is actually very useable because the page never gets very large; no more than 25 comments are ever shown, as older ones scroll off the bottom. I’m not sure how well the Spy will work with browsers in other mobile devices, but with Safari it’s like having a little LGF chat room on your iPhone.

To post comments to a thread via the LGF Spy, log in, then click the green magnifying glass in the row of icons at the bottom right of the article.

Create a PageThis is the LGF Pages posting bookmarklet. To use it, drag this button to your browser's bookmark bar, and title it 'LGF Pages' (or whatever you like). Then browse to a site you want to post, select some text on the page to use for a quote, click the bookmarklet, and the Pages posting window will appear with the title, text, and any embedded video or audio files already filled in, ready to go.
Or... you can just click this button to open the Pages posting window right away.
