Egypt, a country that’s always waiting in line with its hand out when the United States is giving away free money, is backing Yasser Arafat and accusing Israel of obstructing Mideast peace.
This is going to be the test of George Bush’s proposal. Both Saudi Arabia and Egypt are backing away in horror from the idea of the Palestinians with a democracy. This is where the “or else…” part of that speech comes into play.
