Okay, the red haze in front of my eyes is gone. I may be safe to post again.

I suppose that if a woman is raised that she is only worthwhile if she bears children, and that her abillity to do so is her most important trait (if not the only trait her culture will notice), it might not seem so odd that she would be willing to pass that same kind of thinking to her children; that they were only worth what they would do for the power structure of the culture, and have no intrinsic value in themselves.

I think I've said this before. I doubt it will be the last time.

21 zombie  Thu, Jun 25, 2009 11:34:37am

I'm sorry, but most Muslim culture in the Middle East is sick to a level beyond our comprehension. My gloomy opinion has not changed since 2001 or 2003 -- that radical Muslims will force a massive and violent conflagration of the West vs. the Muslim world, with horrifying and miserable results for both sides -- with their side coming out on the losing side.

We've done everything we can to wake them up to reality, but they simply will not listen.

And if they think that even a lefty like Obama won't be forced to respond to serious provocation, they have another thing coming: earlier lefties like FDR, Kennedy, and LBJ had no problem whatsoever using American military power in extremis in respond to attacks or perceived threats.

I feel like we're standing here, speaking to the Muslim world, saying, "Don't poke that Grizzly bear with that stick. Stop it. Stop poking the bear. It's starting to get annoyed. For you own good, please stop...." but they just won't listen.

Increasingly sophisticated? They're indoctrinating these kids from the crib and not exposing them to anything but hatred via a media that they control. As always, it boils down to anti-Semitism and the destruction of Israel.

What it shows is that someone is spending more money post production and providing better production values. The message is just as evil and twisted as the earlier tripe spewed by the jihadis.

The fear is that it would take such an overwhelming and devastating attack on the US to provoke that response, but when the Administration does respond, it will do so with the full force and fury that the US military can muster - and we've been seeing for the better part of this decade what a motivated US military can do, and we've got years of institutional experience in COIN and standard warfare to work with. The jihadis just blow themselves up taking as many people as they can.

Back in February of 2007, at the very same toy fair in New York City where Barbie was launched nearly 50 years earlier, America's favorite doll found herself faced with some serious, younger competition. Her name was Fulla, Syria's answer to Barbie, and this was her American debut.

Fulla is exactly the same height as Barbie and has a very comparable build. But the similarities end there. The creators of Fulla--Damascus' NewBoy Design--were looking to create a doll that reflected Islamic values. To many in the Middle East, Barbie is not just a doll; she is an ambassador of decadent Western culture. This is where Fulla comes in.

The doll was an immediate sensation when it was released in Syria in 2003. Within two years of its launch, 1.5 million Fulla dolls had been sold. Marketed much like Barbie, the doll comes in a bright pink box and can be accessorized with hundreds of stylish outfits.

But unlike Barbie's baby-blues, Fulla's eyes are mocha brown, her skin a rich shade of caramel and her hair jet black. Her clothing is modest and covers the majority of her body. She can pick from a wide variety of head scarves and long coats, but no bikinis.

38 Cannadian Club Akbar  Thu, Jun 25, 2009 11:40:26am

You know we could slow this down somewhat by drilling for our own oil. Granted we can't stop importing oil and gasoline completely, but we could slow it down a whole bunch if we went flat out. Trouble is that is not going to happen until and unless there is a tremendous crisis that puts the price of gasoline at $5+ for good. Until that time we are going to pump literally a billion plus dollars to the Saudis and Iranians. They are the ones who are mostly funding this crap.

I don't think it will be Obama, and not just because I don't think he hasn't got the backbone to stand up to them, but because the issue with the Muslim world won't be settled within the next 3, or even 7 years. So I think it will be the next president, or one after that. But it will happen, and you're right, it won't be pretty.

Is there a current conflict anywhere in the world that doesn't have Muslims on one side? Or both sides? I can't think of one, since the Tamil Tigers have been defeated.

I am just heartsick after watching that video. Sick with pity for these poor children whose minds are being poisoned at such a vulnerable age by manipulating adults, sick at the way the Israelis are depicted. Once again, Golda Meir's statement comes to mind:

"“We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us”

65 Occasional Reader  Thu, Jun 25, 2009 11:44:40am

And again: Most people in the West - not just liberals, but probably disproportionately so - simply cannot imagine the mindset involved with this sort of phenomenon. At a fundamental level, they just can't believe that people would really raise their children with the goal of turning them into explosive ordnance delivery devices. So, they rationalize that this is all simply rhetoric... "they really just want self-determination, and peace and justice!"... etc.

Rock-a-bye Zionist in Tel-Aviv,
Once we've got nukes,
You'll have reason to grieve,
Once we've got missiles,
Your nation will fall,
Down will come Israel,
Zionists and all.

Malik had a little lamb, as white as white could be,

Not surprising. Really, considering that our own schools, owned by the left, are teaching kids that man on earth is a bad thing... the more people dead the better for the earth. Every day parents need to be countering what the schools are teaching kids through every subject. I know the LGF focus is on the sneaky creationists or the rabid rightsters, but horrible damage is being done while we look over there. What about the parents who are overwhelmed with work, etc. and aren't countering the school systems' messages?

A national count of missing schoolgirls has been ordered by the Government amid fears that hundreds have been forced into marriage or are living in fear of “honour” violence.

Ministers have called on local authorities to carry out immediate checks in 15 areas that have been identified as forced-marriage risk zones, after it emerged that 33 girls had vanished from the school roll in Bradford alone.

It is the first attempt to map the national scale of the problem, which police, support workers and victims say is kept hidden by a conspiracy of silence among some, predominantly South Asian, communities.

The move came after ministers said that they were seriously concerned by the number of schoolgirls who were unaccounted for in West Yorkshire, despite inquiries by Bradford City Council. The authorities lost track of 205 youngsters, of which they have determined the whereabouts of only 172.

Back in February of 2007, at the very same toy fair in New York City where Barbie was launched nearly 50 years earlier, America's favorite doll found herself faced with some serious, younger competition. Her name was Fulla, Syria's answer to Barbie, and this was her American debut.

Sadly Fulla is no longer sold having been the victim of an honor killing after friends for whom cooking meals, heard her sweet voice singing and praying, and she was stoned to death by her brothers, cousins and father.

They are going to have their history changing moment, and it will not be to the benefit of many Muslims. This kind of hate does not simply go away when you suddenly placate the hater. If the Palestinians where handed a state lock, stock and minus any Jews, there would still be some sort of conflict that will eventually boil over and engulf the whole region.

So, they get a state, bereft of any Jews, what do they have. The have a large portion of a population that has been bred, like animals, to do one thing, and one thing only, hate and kill.

What happens? If the killing and hate mentality is the only fulfilling emotion you know, the only emotion that gives you a feeling of accomplishment, then that feeling has to be fed.

Short of an internal self-induced Palestinian genocide, these people, or should I say the whole region (and world), is going to be saddled with flesh and blood, quasi-human killing machines that will demand satisfaction.

Scary.

Bachmann links Census to 1940s Japanese internment

On Fox News, Bachmann spoke of how Census information helped the government find and detain Japanese people more than six decades ago:

If we look at American history, between 1942 and 1947, the data that was collected by the Census Bureau was handed over to the FBI and other organizations at the request of President Roosevelt, and that’s how the Japanese were rounded up and put into the internment camps,” said Bachmann. “I’m not saying that that’s what the Administration is planning to do, but I am saying that private personal information that was given to the Census Bureau in the 1940s was used against Americans to round them up, in a violation of their constitutional rights, and put the Japanese in internment camps.”

It’s not the first time Bachmann has raised the specter of such detentions: In April, she said she feared the Obama administration was planning “re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically correct forums.”

I linked this about a month or so ago. As I said the, if you have 36 minutes to spare, this is worth your time. Well worth it.

Children of the Taliban

After their lessons, some of the boys play cricket on a strip of wasteland close to school. One of them is Shaheed, which means “martyr.” He is 14 and one of 200 pupils at the school, most of whom come from extremely poor families.

The state education system in Pakistan has virtually collapsed, leaving more than 1.5 million children studying at schools like this one. Sitting down to be interviewed, Shaheed explains what Sharia Law has taught him about women.

“The government should forbid women and girls from wandering around outside,” he says calmly. “Just like the government banned plastic bags -- no one uses them any more -- we should do the same with women.”

Shaheed’s teacher defends the school, saying it promotes only peace and harmony, not terrorism, but away from the camera, he tells another story.

When asked who he thinks will win this war, his response is chilling:

“No matter how many Muslims die, we will never run out of sacrificial lambs.”

It also confirms something Shaheed said during his interview: “When I look at suicide bombers younger than me, or my age, I get so inspired by their terrific attacks.”

Leaving Karachi, the reporter tries to make contact with the Taliban leadership in the tribal areas. She wants to talk to the men who are recruiting children from these religious schools for suicide operations.

After lengthy negotiations, she meets with Qari Abdullah, who makes no attempt to hide his face.

“We never used to fight against Pakistan, because we thought the Army were Muslims,” he tells her. “But when they started bombing us, we had to do jihad against them.”

When she asks him about using young children to carry out such attacks, he replies:

“Children are tools to achieve God’s will. And whatever comes your way, you sacrifice it.” He then reveals that he recruits children as young as 5, 6, and 7 years old.

Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is Obamandias, King of Kings:

Nothing beside remains. Round the decay

Abrams, in a piece he wrote that appeared in Thursday's Wall Street Journal, said that "for reasons that remain unclear, the Obama administration has decided to abandon the understandings about settlements reached by the previous administration with the Israeli government. Yeah, we only put 5 of 'em in jail in WA for fraud, and a dozen other states are investigating them.

Just ignore them.....

Why ignore them when you can give them billions of dollars instead?

Personally, I think we need a big chipmunk here.

I read somewhere that the type of people who were the costliest, in terms of life-long health care, are slim, in-shape people. . . because they live substantially longer.

The commenters at PJ Media are totally hyperventilating over nothing. You're right, it is private property. The Gwinnettians should come over to Cobb, where the local GOP is planning a Tea Party in a public park, for which they have a permit. They're serving the best barbecue in town, too!

European diplomatic sources said Thursday that kidnapped Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit will be transferred to Egypt in the coming hours or coming days.

This information has yet to be confirmed by Israeli officials.

According to the European sources, Shalit's transfer is the first stage of an agreement between the various Palestinian factions, assisted by Egyptian mediation and done in coordination with the United States and with the support of Syria.

How can people in western countries continue to support this movement? I find it harder and harder to explain. I know many of them are ignorant of this particular aspect, but the leaders of the support efforts can't possibly be. How do they spin it to themselves so they can sleep at night?

Simple. Just blame it on the Jews.

re: #168 Nevergiveup

The internal US debate about whether the Bush Administration had tacit agreements with Israel on construction in the settlements heated up Thursday, with former deputy National Security Advisor Elliott Abrams writing flat out that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was wrong in saying these agreement did not exist.

[Link: www.jpost.com...]

Abrams, in a piece he wrote that appeared in Thursday's Wall Street Journal, said that "for reasons that remain unclear, the Obama administration has decided to abandon the understandings about settlements reached by the previous administration with the Israeli government. We may be abandoning the deal now, but we cannot rewrite history and make believe it did not exist."

Gee who woulda thought that Hilliary and Obama are liars? Well me.

Abrams wrote a similar op-ed in the WaPo back in April. But earlier this month former Ambassador Kurtzer wrote that since the arrangements were never formalized, there was no real agreement. Understand, it doesn't really matter what Abrams writes or what Israel insists, the administration and their media cheerleaders will ignore that and blow the issue of "settlements" up all out of proportion to its true signficance.

"The Palestinian people reject the Israeli position on a demilitarized state, on the refugees, on Jerusalem, and on the Jewish state," the exiled Mashaal said in Damascus, referring to Israel's demand any future Palestinian state recognize it as a Jewish nation.

maybe. I also read that the announcement of the ambassador was timed to exploit the crisis in Iran. The Iranian's always get paranoid about Syria splitting from them to make nice with the West. The opening to Syria may be a ploy to wide the splits inside the Iranian regime. I'm not sure how that all works, but that's what the State Dept thinks they are doing.

I think it's interesting to note that according to the story in the linky, these folks are based in "moderate and progressive" Jordan. I wonder how all this Islamic "Goodwill" fits with our Apologizer-In-Chief's "historic" Cairo speech? I guess that these folks haven't heard it or all that "Religion of Peace" crapolla. Or am I being just another impertinent right wing bastard for asking?

In the late 19th century, the Howell torpedo was an incredibly advanced piece of military equipment, a breakthrough device in the United States' quest to achieve naval dominance.
