Good evening.

Mixed in with all the bad economic news is this nugget of improvement. The TED spread, (a measure of credit risk in the economy) has dropped to 42 and change, about half of what it was a year ago. The more the TED spread drops, the less credit risk there is perceived in the financial system.

I see this improvement as more due to the steps taken by the Fed in the last 6 months than anything the White House has done. Also, with the suspension of mark to market the instability in the prices of some of these assets has started to settle down.

And Bogie actually never did say "Play it again, Sam" in Casa Blanca

Oh God.I'll try to spell it..He is a rescue dog..A buddy dropped his off and Winston is my first pet...A mexican long hair Chuchuhilai or something like that...He follows me around like he will kick anybodys ass that messes with me.It's pretty cute. I go to the bathroom and there he is standing guard just in case..He is cute

Thanks. Cold turkey. What a pain. The smartest people in the world are the ones who never picked up this crappy habit. 28 years later and I'm trying my best. Good support system at home. Saw an acupuncturist Friday and today. Hopefully, the worst is over.

I love the way Jarrett hums and grunts to himself while playing...seems to be a pure joy there, of a child at play at what he most desires to do.

I always told my kids they would never look back and think it was a great decision if they smoked, and they don't. I did, and quit. It's hard... I know.

My little 11-year old loves jazz--I don't. However, I'm very pleased that he has made up his own mind about what he likes--and it's good music, whether or not it's my taste or not. I don't like opera either--he does. Go figure.

EVERYONE I knew smoked including mom, dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends--but I always thought it was a dumb thing to do--burning rubbish and then taking a lungful of it? cough cough hack hack. no thanks. Most of these people have tried to quit until the day they died. Most unsuccessfully.
