The LGF Amazon Store

Lifestyle • Views: 2,044

Little Green Footballs now has its very own, shiny new Amazon Associate Store, with a button at the top right of the page that takes you directly to the Shopping Zone.

This is one of the tools Amazon makes available to members of their associates program; it creates a little LGF-branded subset of Amazon where you can browse and search for products in most of their categories, read product reviews, check out ratings and lists and related products, and buy stuff if you find something you want, need, or can’t live without. And when you make purchases through this page, the LGF Blog fund gets a small cut of Amazon’s price (around 6-7%) — so you can take advantage of Amazon’s usually excellent bargains and help support LGF at the same time.

I'd like to buy one of those female volleyball players at the "Amazon" store. How much do they cost?

Coolness, its a twofer, I get things I want, and my favorite site is funded.

If I bought everything I want to buy from Amazon, I'd be in debtor's prison, but what I do buy, I will be sure to buy through the LGF store henceforth.

Charles:

I've got an astore for my site.

It really works better if you take the time to fill it with topical recommended titles rather than have it contain everything on amazon. Take the time to turn it into a recommended reading list for lizards and you might see more profits.

Just tossing in my two cents:

Norks are really celebrating the Fourth in style.

First rockets, now beer.

In apparent first, North Korea airs beer commercial on state TV

In an apparent first, North Korea — a country that struggles to feed its 24 million people — has aired a beer commercial on state television.

The advertisement, which lasted nearly three minutes after a news program on Thursday, showed a grinning Korean man with sweat on his face holding a glass of beer, with a caption that read, "Taedong River Beer is the pride of Pyongyang."

The commercial said the beer relieves stress and improves health and longevity. It also showed images of a pub it said was in the capital of Pyongyang, filled with people drinking.

Charles: what is a good book on using Ajax?

I'd recommend using jQuery instead of writing your own Ajax routines. This is a very good book for that: Learning jQuery 1.3: Jonathan Chaffer, Karl Swedberg, John Resig.

Also this one: jQuery in Action: Bear Bibeault, Yehuda Katz, John Resig.

I am kind of obsessed in a techie way. They have some interesting stuff, and I haven't even started getting into the API yet for LGF.

I did use the Amazon API a while back in another project, when I was posting actual MP3 files and playlists (I stopped doing that so the record industry wouldn't destroy me). I used the API to look up album cover art, with the PEAR Services_Amazon module.

#1

Voice support for Ron Paul's HR 1207, AUDIT THE FED by getting your Senators to co-sponsor S.604. We have a majority in the House. Now on to the Senate! Where is the money?

#2

Voice Opposition to CAP and TRADE, S. 2191! We must stop this horrific piece of Legislation. The final nail in the coffin of our economy. The House didn't listen, the Senate MUST!

SCRATCHbot: The robotic rat that could save lives

A team of scientists have developed a robotic rat that could eventually help rescue people from man-made and natural disasters.

Researchers from the Bristol Robotics Lab and the University of Sheffield have developed the SCRATCHbot, which can find objects using its sensory whiskers in dark or smoky rooms. And unlike previous rodent-like machines, SCRATCHbot adapts the way it moves its whiskers when it makes contact with an obstacle.

If we still had representative government, I'd agree.

I'm waiting for them to change the motto on the Great Seal to "We won," since that seems to be the central operating principle these days.

What do you disagree with? Calling/writing congress critters, or that the legislation is heinous. I'm assuming the former, but I do still think it matters. Particularly when getting the Republicans to resist and letting the Democrats own this swill.

Neither party is speaking for me these days, but the GOP has been closest in its history so I'm hoping they are still educable.

Learned that all of the speakers have doomed ideas. Fair Tax, Libertarian.

All that stuff is illegal inSo.Cal., because of the fire danger.
Big city show tonight, though :D

Are you a So.Cal girl? I grew up in Napa Valley...My favorite 4th was when we went up to LaCora camping ground on a hill( mountain) over looking the Valley...
We sat on a cliff overlooking the Valley watching fireworks blowing up thousands of feet below us....Looking down on fireworks is cooler than shit...
It was the most coolest 4th of July in my life....

I'm waiting for them to change the motto on the Great Seal to "We won," since that seems to be the central operating principle these days.

I thought the Tea Party crowd might get lucky and the Nazis at Storrmfront might keep their mouths shut. No such luck.....
Tea Party Talk

Despite the pouring rain, the Bloomington, IL TEA Party had a pretty decent turnout of approximately 300-400. Once again, the crowd was 99% White. I was able to talk to a lot more people this time. Pointing out the Zionist stranglehold is just a matter of connecting the dots. People would say to me that it's the media. And I'd tell them the names of the Zionist owners of the media corporations. Or they'd say that it's the Federal Reserve. And I'd tell them that both Greenspan and Bernanke are Zionist Jews. Or they'd say that it's Obama. And I'd tell them that Obama's biggest campaign contributor was the Jewish banking firm of Goldman and Sachs and that Obama's right-hand man, Rahm Emmanuel, is a Zionist Jew with dual citizenship to Israel and the U.S. and that he fought in the Israeli army. I'd tell them that David Axelrod was another Zionist Jew who made his career selling Negro politicians to White voters. The people I talked to were very receptive to the subject of Zionism. Even though the incessant rain made the event miserable, I think overall it was a successful gathering of fed-up White folks.

...

Just came back form the Bellingham Tea Party.

A smashing success, more people showed up than at the April 15th Tea party. We took film and will post ASAP.

Talked to many like minded folks and managed to distribute a few flyer's. Got the folks next to me laughing when I brought up how all the Negroes and Mexicans would drive by with the windows rolled up trying to ignore us as best as possible.

...

I attended the Cobb County Tea Party in Marietta, Georgia.
...
One thing I noticed. Of those 4,500, only 4 non-whites. Two black women, an Asian man, and a black speaker, Herman Cain.

....

I just returned from the Gilbert, AZ Tea Party. There appeared to be just under 1000 people present. Only two of the local TV stations had cameramen present. There were no reporters.

I thought the one in Phoenix on April 15, 2009, was much more impressive.

My mission of distributing WN (white Nationalist - ed) literature was accomplished.

"To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as 'fact' that Governor Palin resigned because she is 'under federal investigation' for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation," Van Flein said in a statement. "This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law."

The link works for me......

The abruptness of her announcement and the mystery surrounding her plans has fed widespread speculation. But Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein on Saturday warned legal action may be taken against bloggers and publications that reprint what he calls fraudulent claims.

OT : Honeybee mobs overpower hornets

[Link: news.bbc.co.uk...]

Honeybee hordes use two weapons - heat and carbon dioxide - to kill their natural enemies, giant hornets.

Japanese honeybees form "bee balls" - mobbing and smothering the predators.

This has previously been referred to as "heat-balling", but a study has now shown that carbon dioxide also plays a role in its lethal effectiveness.

Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - OEM
Special savings, ends 7/12

RAID 0 means the data is stored alternately on each drive, greatly increase the read write speeds.

Raid 5 minimum of 3 ordinary drives, data is stored and backed up across the drives. Lose one, the others can restore it.
