Ahmadinejad: Iran Will ‘Bring Down’ the West

World • Views: 2,871

Iran’s thug-in-chief said today that his new government is going to “bring down Western arrogance.”

How’s that Unclenching Initiative working out, President Obama?

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran’s re-elected President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday his next government “would bring down the global arrogance,” signaling a tougher approach toward the West after June’s disputed election.

“The Iranian nation elected somebody they (Iran’s enemies) did not want. The Iranian nation’s choice was their nightmare,” the hardline president told a big crowd at the country’s most prominent religious shrine in the northeastern city of Mashhad.

Ahmadinejad’s fierce attack on Tehran’s “enemies” is likely to further disappoint the United States and its allies, which are trying to engage the Islamic Republic in direct talks over its nuclear program. …

“As soon as the new government is established, with power and authority, ten times more than before, it will enter the global scene and will bring down the global arrogance,” he said.

“They should wait as a new wave of revolutionary thinking … from the Iranian nation is on the way and we will not allow the arrogant (powers) to even have one night of good sleep,” Ahmadinejad said, according to state broadcaster IRIB.

Israel will end up having to take out Iran's nuclear program, which will result in terrorism from Iran and condemnation from the world.
And then, sometime, people will realize what Israel saved the world from, and a few countries will give a quiet "Thank you. But please give more concessions to the Palestinians."

Yes, the result of an attack on Iran will be nasty. But the alternative is nuclear terrorism, which is much worse.

The dinnerjacket sounds like he has been cribbing from an old Apple commercial. His statement sounds very similar in tone to:

"Today, we celebrate the first glorious anniversary of the Information Purification Directives.

We have created, for the first time in all history, a garden of pure ideology.

Where each worker may bloom secure from the pests of contradictory and confusing truths.

Our Unification of Thoughts is more powerful a weapon than any fleet or army on earth.

We are one people, with one will, one resolve, one cause.

Our enemies shall talk themselves to death and we will bury them with their own confusion.

We shall prevail!"

I've been patient with Obama on this, especially given that many Iranians involved in the protests seemed to endorse his 'softly softly' approach, but I think the time for a tougher approach is approaching. I posted this earlier on the link for this article. What we need is a way to ensure that leaders of widespread terror have no refuge if they launch an attack against us or our interests.

I recommend more advanced UAV development with better precision weapons. We will hunt these idiots down from above and ensure they live in fear for the rest of their miserable, short lives.

Dinner Jacket and Crazy Kim are simply side show freaks right now. But if they ever are successful, we need them to know that we have a warehouse of munitions with their names on it. And if their families are foolish enough to be anywhere near the pond scum that they are, they'll get hit too.

And if the country in question continues to launch attacks against us, we'll respond with weapons of mass destruction.

And the longer it takes before Iran's nuclear program is taken down, the lower become the odds that it can be done with conventional weapons and the higher the odds that Israel will have to use it's own nuclear arsenal to preempt the Iranian nuclear program.

I think I had it (last week), cough went straight to the chest, I laid low for 5 days, still have the cough but OK. Doctor told me to stay away. I
saw Dr yesterday and in our town they are treating all cases with flu-like symptons as swine. It is pretty rampant down here. 10 now dead in NZ, but all underlying medical conditions.

Central Scotland here - another hotspot with a few deaths. I think I'm just going to lie low till ithe symptoms pass. I already have that strange desire to watch corny old crime programmes like 'Columbo' and 'Murder She Wrote' that always seems to come over me when I'm unwell.

Sea Kitten update....
PETA offers to save beach if name is changed

PETA sent a letter to California State Parks Director Ruth Coleman on Wednesday offering to pay to keep Pescadero State Beach open, but only if it is renamed Sea Kitten State Beach.

Pescadero State Beach is among the 219 state parks slated for closure under Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's plan to close a $26.3 billion deficit.

The term "sea kitten" is an effort to evoke the same sympathy for fish that people feel for cats and dogs, according to PETA Manager of Campaigns Lindsay Rajt.

"Pescadero means 'the place to fish,' so we thought by renaming it 'Sea Kitten State Beach' we could make it the place for fish instead of fishing," she said.
....
Asked if not renaming the beach to include the term "sea kitten" is a deal breaker, Rajt said: "It would be." Although if the state agreed to prohibit fishing at the beach in return for funds, PETA "would perhaps consider it," she said.

CBO Chief Criticizes Democrats' Health Reform Measures

Instead of saving the federal government from fiscal catastrophe, the health reform measures being drafted by congressional Democrats would increase rather than reduce public spending on health care, potentially worsening an already bleak budget outlook, the director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said this morning.

Under questioning by members of the Senate Budget Committee, CBO director Douglas Elmendorf said bills crafted by House leaders and the Senate health committee do not propose "the sort of fundamental changes that would be necessary to reduce the trajectory of federal health spending by a significant amount."

"On the contrary," Elmendorf said, "the legislation significantly expands the federal responsibility for health-care costs."

Centrist Dem Leader: Has Committee Votes To Block Health Bill

U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark., a leader of fiscally conservative House Democrats, said Wednesday a House plan to overhaul the U.S. health-care system is losing support and will be stuck in committee without changes.

"Last time I checked, it takes seven Democrats to stop a bill in the Energy and Commerce Committee," Ross told reporters after a House vote. "We had seven against it last Friday; we have 10 today."

Three House committees are slated to begin considering the $1 trillion-plus bill this week, but the Energy and Commerce looms as the biggest challenge. That's because it counts among its 36 Democratic members seven members of the Blue Dog Coalition, a fiscally conservative bloc that is opposing the House Democrats' effort.

Ross said the bill, introduced Wednesday by House Democratic leaders, doesn't include provisions adequate to curb rising health care costs, including what the government spends on healthcare.

"The current bill would have to be substantially amended before we could consider supporting it," Ross said.

Charles usually manages to avoid the gleeful anti-Obama hysteria. I'm a little surprised that in the middle of a popular uprising in Iran, Ahmadinejad manages to squeak out a little tough talk, and suddenly we have an LGF post that's critical of Obama.

Judging from what's been happening in Iran for the past 5 weeks, I'd say someone is making some good stuff happen. No one really knows the cause of the uprising against Ahmadinejad, or if it will succeed. But it seems to me that Obama is handling all this pretty well, and he may well have inspired the Iranian people to throw out their pathetic jackass of a dictator.

I'd give 100+ dings if I could.

There is one huge precondition that the two already agree on. The Iranian nut wants to destroy America and Mr. Obama is actively, quickly doing it from within with the help of his fellow Asses and nutless Republicans!

re: #19 LGoPs

At what point is anybody in the media going to question Obama's bad judgement? Yoo hoo? Anybody?

Don't expect a response; the media has its collective head up its ass to hear anything.

re: #26 LGoPs

Obama is not qualified to run a fucking 7-Eleven. Why anybody thought that he was qualified to stand on the world stage and act competently is beyond me.
Next election, if people want to gamble....go to fucking Vegas. I'll help pay your bus fare. But don't gamble with the future of your country.

You can thank ACORN for their assistance in this debacle.
