IPT: Hizb Ut-Tahrir in America

The Investigative Project has a report on shadowy Islamic supremacist group Hizb ut-Tahrir and their planned meeting this weekend in Chicago: Hizb Ut-Tahrir In America: Preaching Hate, Building A Caliphate.

Hizb ut-Tahrir, (HT) the pro-jihadist organization meeting this weekend in suburban Chicago, has been waging a below-the-radar campaign to recruit Americans for decades. While HT (the “Party of Liberation”) says it is committed to advancing radical Islam by nonviolent means, it advocates violence (see here, here and here) and its prominent alumni include terrorists like Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and Abu Musab Zarqawi along with suicide bombers.

The open nature of this weekend’s Khalifa (Caliphate) Conference in Chicago under the Hizb ut-Tahrir banner indicates that the group has decided to enhance its recruiting efforts among U.S. Muslims. Until late last year (when it publicly called on American Muslims to boycott the November election) HT had operated in secret or through front organizations here.

Charles? How can people hold an open conference advocating the overthrow of the American system? I'm a big free speech advocate, but surely this is over the line?

If you cannot openly state* who you are or what your beliefs and aims are, you are doing something wrong.

The entire Political Science Department of U.C. Berkeley is essentially a permanent unending conference devoted to overtly overthrowing the capitalist system.

Par for the course these days.

Ah, I see now. It ties into the environmentalist movement. If we are reduced to the level of the CCCP, we will

a. Use less toilet paper, because we wont' have any.

b. Flush less, because the water will only occasionally be on.

c. Drive less, because we won't have cars.

d. Eat less, because there will be less food.

e. Have fewer kids, because who wants to bring kids into a screwed-up world.

It all makes perfect sense. It is one whole. They want us to be living in the Iron Age, under the village organizer chief.

We have the KKK, National Socialists (the real thing) and weird religious sects. Even Ron Paul, Huckabee are allowed free speech. At the April 15th tea Parties (I think in Memphis) they had an anti-government militia called the Oath Keepers take the stage and vow to violently overthrow the government if they felt the Constitution was violated (their personal interpretation, of course).
We allow this as free speech all the time.

My understanding is that the booze prohibition only applies in Saudi Arabia (at least for some), and they can get around the hooker bit by marrying them (as long as they have fewer than 4 wives at the time), then divorcing after. Just say "I divorce your", not sure about how to get around the drug restriction...

Does saying "I don't have an STD" three times get rid of that little problem? Just wondering.

Divorce isn't that easy
you have to say "I divorce you" three whole times. Maybe even walking around a fire pit.

Huckabee's offense is in advocating changes to the Constitution which would make America's government a manifestly Christian, religious one. Not unclearly, either--he has said this quite clearly.

 Frank says:

And all the rest of whom for which to whensoever of partially indeterminate bio-chemical degredation. Seek the path to the sudsy yellow nozzle of their foaming nocturnal parametric digital whole-wheat inter-faith geo-thermal terpsichorean ejectamenta. -- From board tape at Zappa concert, outdoors, at Blossom Music Center, Akron, Ohio, summer 1984. This quote was in the middle of a spoken section of "The Mud Club" in which a dude walks into the club with a blue Mohawk and proceeds to "work the floor, work the wall, work the monitor system. . . ." The band was having monitor feedback problems at the Blossom concert, and there are numerous references to P.A. equipment throughout this ramble. Other than that, the quote is meaningless, I guess. But great imagery!
