Freep Founder Calls ‘Fraud’

Weird • Views: 1,841

Oops. Looks like the latest “smoking gun” for the Nirthers was loaded with blanks. Free Republic founder Jim Robinson is calling it a fraud, probably because it’s an obvious fraud.

Fake Obama Kenya birth certificate? Ya think?

Freepers are blaming it on Marxists. You know, the ones who’ve … taken over the country. It’s a sort of reverse double backflip of a Marxist agitprop operation.

And the Freepers were dumb enough to fall for it. Hard.

Whadda nut.

A little factoid (for which I'd welcome correction, but I'm pretty sure I'm right): I think he used to be a Democrat, believe it or not. I know he really hated President Bush at one point...then I think the kaching thing kicked in, and he went zooming to the Alan Keyes camp.

I'm not sure even he knows what he really thinks.

That string is the weirdest thing I have seen yet at Free Republic, and that is saying a lot. It's hard to tell which way the howling mob is headed, but they obviously don't know themselves.
In complete ignorance of all law and precedent, one faction holds that Obama is not a natural born citizen because his father was not a citizen, the birthplace does not therefore matter, and this is all a distraction engineered by Soros-financed ACORN media moles or some similar type of nefarious operative.

Birfers vs. Troofers: 28% of Republicans are crazy. 35% of Democrats are.

... So a few Democrats are hopping around and throwing their feces at each other because 28% of Republicans say the president was not born in the USA. Counting doubters, 58% of Republicans think the president was not born in the USA or they are unsure.

This is based on a Daily Kos poll. THE LINK.

Sorry if you had to wipe the monitor on that one.

But 35% of Democrats think 9/11 was an inside job. Counting the doubters, that’s 74%.

That is based on a Rasmussen Poll. THE LINK.

I read recently where trace amounts of Prozac are now found in our water. Some call that pollution. I call that Our Salvation.

The "bow" statement is right after the QoE statement...

All Presidents (since FDR) "bow" to the King of SA so that Americans can have enough gasoline to fill up their vehicles.

You think the QoE really gives a damn?

The "census" thing is OBE (and a sign of Bachmannism.)

The "backed the Iranian gov't" thing is political trope of the right-o-sphere that the reality of the situation doesn't warrant.

and so on...

I would like to do a survey, and ask these people four questions:

2. What is Socialism?
3. Can a system be both Marxist and Socialist?
4. List the ways in which the U.S. has become a Marxist and/or Socialist society since President Obama took office. (Extra points for giving parallels to Marxist and Socialist societies of the past.)

So if he fails to win re-election in 2012, you think he'll declare martial law?

You're not helping.

I expect him to behave like a Marxist.

To the parasites, like the Democratic Party, power over the productive citizens of this nation is necessary for their very existence.

In short, and I simply cannot emphasize this enough: POWER IS LIFE.

Any restraint on that power -- be it the freedom of speech and press, the rights to self defense and to bear arms, or the free election of public officials (and laws regulating who may hold a specific office) -- is a danger to the parasite's continued existence.

I would expect the Democratic Party to band together and claim that the "will of the people" in some way trumps the Constitution, the terms under which the Federal Government was established.

Barack Obama and his closest supporters apparently believe that are on the "Progressive" version of a holy mission. To quit is to negate the self-concept that they have adopted for themselves. I absolutely believe that the act of surrendering power is literally unthinkable for them.

Quite frankly I really think that he would rather die than surrender power.

It;s tricky when it comes to complicated stuff like economics or health care reform but I think it would work better to advocate for better ideas rather than simply opposing everything Obama does. I think it also helps to appear reasonable if you can acknowledge some good things he's done and agree with some policies. It demonstrates and understanding of the issues.

people don't know what's good for them...just look at all the support C/C has generated...when the reality of bigger, intrusive govt is pointed out they ignore you or call you unpatriotic...people have to be manhandled, bludgeoned

The more you debunk a conspiracy theory the nuttier its believers become.

Agree with them then push the conspiracy even further. Not only did the all the Jews stay home on 9-11, they took out insurance policies on their co-workers and are using to money to develop flying commando pigs.

168 MJ  Sun, Aug 2, 2009 7:34:53pm

NYT tries to carry water for the Obama campaign against Israel and ends up proving Israel is right:

“One of the public misimpressions is that it’s all been about settlements,” Mr. Mitchell, the administration’s special envoy to the Middle East, said in a rare interview Friday after six months on the job. “It is completely inaccurate to portray this as, ‘We’re only asking the Israelis to do things.’ We are asking everybody to do things.”...

Maybe because the perception is true:

Saudi Arabia, by all accounts the central player in developing a consensus among Arab countries, appears utterly unmoved by the American argument that “confidence-building” gestures can open the door to more substantive negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

“Incrementalism and the step-by-step approach have not, and we believe will not, achieve peace,” the Saudi foreign minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, said after meeting Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. “Temporary security, confidence-building measures, will also not bring peace.”

But, hey, maybe the Arabs will talk to Haaratz:

He declined to discuss what kinds of steps, but other officials said the United States was pushing for a package of measures ranging from Arab countries’ opening commercial offices in Tel Aviv to their leaders’ granting interviews to Israeli journalists...

I believe that moral narcissism is a technical term to distinguish it from physical narcissism or intellectual narcissism. These terms were introduced by André Green in 1983, in a book that dealt with the various aspects of narcissism.

Well, shucks, dude, if George Soros wants to support Obama, I guess there's something terribly wrong with that. Kinda like how up in arms people were when they saw all the billionaires supporting Bush.

Or am I confusing the issue? Is it because Soros is a liberal Jew? Can't have anyone like that running around supporting candidates, can we?

CtE ...As to Soros .. you know ... I am not Jewish ... and I know that many things during the time were more than I am sure I could even imagine ... and he was a young person ... there comes a time in life when you do make choices ... and IMO his choices have been not good ... I believe that he acts and continues to act out of selfish behavior ... you tell me what part of his life has been anything other than his agenda ... you tell me what his manipulating of currency has been about other than his agenda? ... I am willing to listen ... I know that you surround yourself with people and you can choose those people ... Obama chose to surround himself with a group of people that IMO are not for America ... he may be the President but that does not mean that I forget what happened ... EVER ...

BTW: I just use a Mp3 Stick and a cassette tape adapter - totally oldschool u know ;)

Hi, Joshua: I'm so clueless, I don't know if the "Underground" part of that designation is literal or metaphorical.

In my worst nightmares, I'm a tunnel rat. And considering my psychotic level of claustrophobia, a piss-poor one, at that.

Are you familiar with Michael Connelley's novel on that subject? The name of it escapes me right now.

re: #237 Joshua Cohen

Joshua: I found it...The Black Echo, by Michael Connelley. Hell of a crime thriller, I thought, and the tunnel rat angle heightens the psychological tension. I'd be interested to know how someone with firsthand knowledge of that subject would rate the books' authenticity.

No. But I watched a more as less bad movie with that title some weeks ago. Directed by Uwe Boll, with Michael Paré...maybe based on that novel you talk about.

Joshua: Looks like the movie is an original screenplay by Daniel Clarke. And, there's now a video game version. Only in America?

It was a hmm - a strange movie. I did not like it much but maybe because I watched better military related ones at that time.
"The 9th Company" (Russian: 9 Рота) and "Traitor" - both I would recommend.

A lot of new cars have the USB for Ipods, so do aftermarket ones.

re: #236 ShanghaiEd

Les: Where can I find out more about the Special Forces Underground? Are you a member?

Here's the short version.

I was a civilian supporter of the SFU. I put the first seven issues of The Resister on usenet and the Libernet mailing list. I also recruited the sysop of the local Objectivist BBS as a point of access and as a writer for The Resister. I also wrote the Moral Decision Game under the nom de plume of R. Hemmerding.

Basically the SFU effectively died when Steve Barry started to collaborate with an ex-Bircher named Susan Huck and dropped Objectivism for a disreputable schism from the Catholic Church. Steve Barry ultimately Joined the National Alliance as a military adviser and then dropped off the face fo the Earth about five years ago.

Here's what I said to another SFU member about what Barry did:

And I'm sorry to say that a case can certainly be made that SB had become part of the problem toward the end.

I just reread THE GOD OF THE MACHINE by Isabel Paterson. She basically splits the alternatives into the society of contract, the direction that TR originally started in, and the society of status, which is to say every tyranny you can name. Paterson would clearly have identified SB and the later TR as favoring the society of status, and thus as part of the problem.

Or to put it another way, what's the difference between a patriot and a nationalist?

Patriotism is a form of behavior. The love of one's country. Since love is (by Objectivist definition) an expression of the ego, patriotism is for the individual a selfish act. If I've read Rand correctly.

Nationalism is a form of collectivist ideology. And as a form of collectivism it lays claim upon the life of the person in the name of the nation.

To be a patriot is an act of will on the part of the free individual. To be a nationalist is to accept the status of being a domestic animal.

Steve started out as a patriot and worked his way into what is essentially an opposite position.

re: #41 Racer X

The trouble with these lists is that by making a big deal out of things that weren't, or being coy with facts, we open ourselves up as easy targets. The Queen of England wasn't really offended, but even if she was -- we weren't bothered when Bush gave Angela Merkel the unwanted backrub, were we? Either these sorts of things are important, or they're not.

On a slightly more serious note, when we talk about Obama raising the national debt, we raise the question of why all of a sudden the national debt is so important to fiscal conservatives (which I assume most of us are). The national debt went from about 30% to 60% of the GNP, and Bush I took it to about 70% -- its highest since the Eisenhower years. The economy did perfectly fine. Under Clinton, no economic genius, the debt/GNP lowered. Under Bush II it went up significantly again. Conservative principles indicate that there is absolutely nothing wrong with maintaining a deficit. So now it's a bad thing?

In a perverse way, I now have a little more respect for Bush and his heavy vacation schedule in his first year in office. If I recall, he spent the entire month of August at his ranch. It's hard to offend people if you're not in town!

Oh yeah - I am on the way to become a tree-hugger...and to reduce my CO2 footprint!
And I would buy a real Plug-In Hybrid or total electric car too, and all this not just for the reason to stop spending money for oil to the arabs.

Hope the people here will still talk to me :)

Where are we on nirthing?
Culled from the threads:
Nirthing is right wing, just as truthering is left wing.
Nirthing will not die down:
because it is the psycho-pathology of sore losers who escalate their fantasies when proved wrong;
because it is fueled by the right wing talk radio and blogosphere (Charles);
because it is fueled by the left wing MSM and blogosphere (Cantor);
because Obama refuses to produce original certificate (A. Sullivan and many others);
because it is collective delusion like the Japanese penis-disappearing delusion.
Nirthers' fraudulent Kenyan birth certificate is the work of Marxist agent provocateurs.
Nirthers have done the world a favor because otherwise journalists would not have investigated Obama's personal life.
Nirther voters are inhibiting GOP from denouncing nirthing, even though they might gain anti-nirther voters (which might contain truthers).

"Nirthing" - bringing into the world an immortal monster child.

267 Joshua Cohen  Sun, Aug 2, 2009 9:59:33pm

BTW: Maybe that would be an interesting topic here? If the government forced you to use alternative energies, to cap and trade and reduce your CO2 footprint, than just do it the lizard way!

As far as it concerns me - I am fine with these stuff as long as it hits the despotic regimes that depend on the oil export and hold the world hostage about and who could not afford to give away all that money to Hamas and Co. whiteout.
Not that I believe in all this bad apocalyptic global warming stuff but if others do...

So Charles would you maybe consider it?
I am a bit feed up with these nirthers, these creationists, these far rightwing nuts and the self-laceration of the republicans.

re: #195 Killgore Trout

Agreed but I'm not so sure cash for clunkers is all bad. I'd rather they resell the cars than destroy them but it might actually do something to help the economy. I think a little more agnosticism would help the discourse.

It happened before, to Studebaker, who qualitied themselves out of business; their cars were sooo good that people didn't have to replace them for the longest time, and they went bankrupt. But Chevy PLUS Chrysler were too big to allow to fail.

You see, the carmakers, under pressure from efficient foreign models, didn't plan the obsolescence right, so now they have to get the administration to bribe it into compliance. And the thusly-government-subsidized new car replacements will, they hope, jump-start the auto industry. It's specific-industry-targeted economic stimulus - the kind of thing the public sector isn't supposed to do because it plays industry favorites - false-flagged and trojan-horsed in as green legislation.

Who knows? It may help, although with un-belly-upped foreign automakers still producing quality products, that remains to be seen. Personally, I think that a helluva lotta people will take one look at who's running the US auto industry and run, not walk, to Honda and Nissan and Toyota showrooms.

But nevertheless, the piper must be eventually compensated for his cash rebate tune - with tax dollars.

Book-balancing. It's a capitalist thing.

re: #203 FrogMarch

ah- Soros is a little different. He ruins entire economies.

Soros makes money betting on their currencies to tank, then does what he can to make it happen, then scarfs up on monetary exchange rate futures.

He's made many billions doing this so far. And the more money he makes, the more financial leverage he can apply to make even more.
