Craziest Blogger Rants About Nirth Certifikit at Newsmax

Weird • Views: 3,102

One of the craziest bloggers on the web, Pamela Geller, who once wrote — in all seriousness — that Barack Obama was the love child of Malcolm X, has another Nirth Certifikit article published by right-wing site Newsmax: Newsmax.com - Obama Birth Certificate Issue Causing Needless Distractions.

There’s no point in quoting this pile of raving nonsense, except to note that the title makes it appear more moderate than it really is (it’s completely nuts), and this is probably the first time the words “Foe shizzle” have appeared in a Newsmax article.

Geller, by the way, is responsible for our mocking term “Nirth” — in the title of one of her illiterate rants at her site, she missed the ‘B’ in birth certificate and typed ‘N’ instead, then left it uncorrected for more than 24 hours.

Geller openly supports European fascist groups, and has almost single-handedly validated all of CAIR’s claims of “Islamophobia” with a long string of blatantly bigoted anti-Muslim posts. Conservative news sites that give Geller a platform for her whacked out delusions and hate speech are doing the conservative movement a huge disservice.

The headline - that the Nirth Certificate is causing needless distractions is true enough. It's the rest of her blatherings that we could do without.

I think's its sade how there is backtracking, and then blaming Obama for the Nirthers.

"In what could be considered a psyop on the American people, the birth certificate issue is being used to smear the Republicans in general as “birthers,” conspiracy nuts who have given themselves over to right-wing nuttery."

9 JohnnyReb  Fri, Aug 7, 2009 8:55:34am

Well I do agree with her on this part:

"The longer the Obama camp lets this issue fester and grow, the more it divides the country. And at the end of the day, anyone who questioned the birth certificate is going to look nuts, and any subsequent challenge from the right on any legitimate issue will be dismissed as a recrudescence of “birtherism,” and more of the Boy Who Cried Wolf."

Apparently, she also believes that the National Guard is recruiting for help rounding us all up into relocation camps. I'm not even gonna link to her site, but it's over there, from the thread downstairs.

I mentioned this yesterday, but if we ever needed proof that Charles is right about the harm these nirthers are doing, notice that the nut holding up her bc at the townhall meeting has made it into the DNC commercial on the 'horror' of the townhall meetings.
Thanks for making us all look stoopid, nirthers!

17 wahabicorridor  Fri, Aug 7, 2009 8:57:20am

Well, here I think she may have a point.

Here we are a year later, and this issue is on fire. Why? Perhaps because the American people, in their sudden desperation at having made a shotgun wedding, are looking for an annulment. And just as you couldn’t get Al Capone on his heinous crimes of murder and racketeering, but got him on tax evasion, so they hope they can get Obama on this technicality regarding eligibility

Not that it makes it any less loony, but at least it provides some kind of understandable rationale.

World Nut Daily (and the detestable Jerome Corsi) is on the case. Of course, they never acknowledged that they got punk'd by the "Kenyan BC." They just pretended it hasn't been invalidated yet until their "probe" is completed. Heh.

That there is pretty funny. I wondered who coined that phrase. Ha.

Maybe when she types entire sentences in CAPS LOCK its because she missed the "a" key.

80 calcajun  Fri, Aug 7, 2009 9:23:48am

Ugh, Newsmax.

OK-- let's do this-- and it's probably been done. What does the "long form" birth certificate used by the state of Hawaii circa 1961 look like? What information has to be provided in order to fill it out completely? What info is not translated to COLB we've all seen?

Make an itemized list of this "missing info" (again, I believe this has been done) and see if it amounts to a hill of beans.

BTW-- she is right-- this is a distraction.

We have a gold opportunity to cast the Dems in the role of the KGB. Private citizens are complaining far and wide about this health-care plan and the government is demonizing them. This is a bad play in any handbook.

We should be playing over and over that famous sound bite of Hillary screaming about how patriotic it is to stand up and disagree with an administration.

We should be pointing out how our Washington aristocracy is so out of touch with mainstream America.

We should show the trail of blood and broken bodies that have been left in the wake of other failed social engineering programs in this country and in others.

If we do all of the above and Congress and the White House keeps reacting in the same fashion, thing will only get better for us in 2010.

Sorry, I disagree. I saw this issue develop from the very beginning, and it was absolutely promoted mainly by the right. re: #71 Charles

Exposing that fake Kenyan document has done absolutely nothing to slow down the Nirthers, by the way. This issue is definitely not going away. They appear to be completely impervious to ridicule, and have no self-consciousness about acting crazy in public.

Facts don't deter conspiracy kooks. The additional attention that exposure drives their way encourages them to seek more. The same is true for Troofers, Bigfoot advocates, UFO enthusiasts, Crop Circle proponents and those still insisting that Bush's TANG records are hiding something. Denial is a form of recognition, and recognition - no matter what the form - validates their efforts to obtain more by acting even crazier.

The only way to shut them up, or at least quiet them to a dull babbling, is to ignore them. This deprives them of what they're seeking - attention - and they'll move on to something else that provides it in larger quantities.

Throwing facts at them is like throwing bones at a hungry dog. It makes them hang around, anxious for more.

Oh please. Barack Obama has released an official certified copy of his birth certificate, and top officials in the state of Hawaii have vouched for it -- several times.

It's NOT Obama who's keeping this issue alive -- it's the kook wing of the GOP.

He'll never do it. Those kooks will probably be responsible for his 2012 election win. As long as they keep yammering on this nonsense, the more the independents will believe they speak for the GOP. Obama isn't going to do anything to stop that trend.

I have no doubt that the craziness spouted by the 9/11 Truthers helped GWB win in 2004. HALLIBURTON!

Private citizens are complaining far and wide about this health-care plan and the government is demonizing them.

John Dingell was heckled on Romulus yesterday over the Nationalized Health sCare and in their coverage the local fishwrap noted that Dingell has been an advocate for this idea for the 50+ years he has been in office.

U.S. Rep. John Dingell was greeted with jeers and cheers today as he tried to explain why changing the nation’s health care system — as he has advocated for more than a half-century in Congress — makes sense.

So 50+ years he has been in office advocating a program near and dear to him and still nothing has been enacted. Is that supposed to impress the readers? I'd say it points out what a waste his career has been.

He is just abut completely incoherent these days. His brain is pancake batter but the idiots around here keep voting him in.

Presidents have been "proposing" legislation for a long time. Their campaigns are based on "I'm going to do this, that, and the other thing" and it's mostly things that Congress is supposed to do, not the President. Every State of the Union Address is the President sending a "wishlist" to Congress. Some lapdog Congressman who wants his name up on a crawl on Fox or CNN always takes up the President's "cause" and makes it happen. Bush did this with NCLB, Medicare Prescription Drugs, Social Security and immigration reform. They didn't all pass, but some Congress members always picked up the issue and tried.

Discovering Article 2 now, and feigning outrage over Obama's actions

Well, Phillip Berg was the Chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County, PA. He has also served in various Democratic Party posts over the years as well. He's also a 9/11 Troofer, and even filed a lawsuit to remove several justices of the Supreme Court who voted for Bush in Bush v. Gore. It gets better with Berg,

In 2005 he was fined and sanctioned $10,000 for having committed a "laundry list of unethical actions."

Here's some nirther humor...

Obama marks birthday with Kenya statehood declaration

President Barack Obama today celebrated his 48th birthday with a retroactive declaration of statehood for Kenya, his father's homeland and the nation where some skeptics say he was born on August 4, 1961.

Conspiracy theorists, collectively called 'birthers' by those who trust the president's version of events, say Obama has refused to release his official birth certificate, so no one can be sure that he's a 'natural born' U.S. citizen, or even that he's at least 35 years old and, therefore, Constitutionally qualified for the office.

By declaring Kenya a U.S. state retroactive to July 1961, the president said he hoped to "put an end to fruitless speculation about my citizenship, which should -- by the way -- be a private matter between a woman and her obstetrician, or village midwife as the case may be."

Obama added: "We need to get the nation's focus back on the worst economy since the Great Depression, the 46 million uninsured Americans, and the global warming crisis that threatens our coastal cities with a briny death. More people believe in that stuff than will ever believe that I was born in Mombasa. I was elected to bring about change you can believe in."

As a citizen of either the 50th or the 51st state, Obama's eligibility for office is now unquestioned. For their part, citizens of Kenya will soon qualify for U.S. government-run health care, as well as a program designed to reduce greenhouse gasses by allowing people to trade in old chickens for more modern, efficient poultry -- a pilot project dubbed 'cash for cluckers'.

I dissagree. When ignored take that as proof of a conspiracy. Do the words "and the main stream media is not covering this" ring any bells.

You can't help everyone but those you can help will be more likely to engage if you treat them and their concerns with respect and argue their points directly, without personal attacks to the assumption that they have already been given the facts and just chose to ignore them.

It is a slow process and requires repeating yourself, but it works for people who don't have some other ulterior motive to their concerns

Rimmer is a character on the British science fiction comedy series Red Dwarf.
He was an incompetent, anal-retentive crew member when the ship had an accident in which all the crew were killed, except for Lister, in stasis, and a cat in a shielded cargo deck.
After the radiation decayed in millions of years, the ship released Lister, and generated a hologram of Rimmer to be his (very annoying) companion.

re: #17 wahabicorridor
Well, here I think she may have a point.

Here we are a year later, and this issue is on fire. Why? Perhaps because the American people, in their sudden desperation at having made a shotgun wedding, are looking for an annulment. And just as you couldn’t get Al Capone on his heinous crimes of murder and racketeering, but got him on tax evasion, so they hope they can get Obama on this technicality regarding eligibility

Not that it makes it any less loony, but at least it provides some kind of understandable rationale.

But it's NOT the American people that feel this way. Millions upon millions support the president, many disagree with him, as almost all do here, but millions more agree with him and want him to succeed. Just because she surrounds herself with a echo chamber does not mean "The American People" feel that way at all. Don't fall into the trap of thinking just because everyone you talk to agrees with you that that makes a plurality.

Is Birtherism going bipartisan? A Hawaiian lawmaker (a Democrat) is introducing a bill in the HI legislature that would force the release of Obama's BIRF DOKUMENTS. Or something.

World Nut Daily (and the detestable Jerome Corsi) is on the case. Of course, they never acknowledged that they got punk'd by the "Kenyan BC." They just pretended it hasn't been invalidated yet until their "probe" is completed. Heh.

I used to be a regular viewer of Newsmax, but I've gotten away from it lately. I used to be a listener of Rush Limbaugh as well, and while I respect much about him, I'm only an occasional listener now. These respectable media organs need to understand that while it is OK to cater to the angry ones occasionally, they can't become the angry ones.

I'm hoping that the lurching to the far right by people that should know better is an example of the pendulum swinging far right as a reaction to the last election and the policies of the far left "winners." But pendulums need to swing back and forth and hopefully settle closer to the middle. And if the conservatives in the media embrace the far right too much, they risk marginalizing the very moderate conservatives (like Giuliani, Romney, et al) that can convince moderates (even a few from the left) to vote for Republicans in the future.

I have to disagree with that. He is a kook no doubt, but he has affiliated himself with the Democratic Party over the years. To say well he's not really a Democrat because he's a kook is the "No True Scotsman" same argument.

He's more than affiliated himself with them, he's been the chair of the Democratic Party of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He's also an all-around all-star nutjob. Berg is a 9/11 Troofer (filed a RICO lawsuit against Bush) and also tried to get five of the Supreme Court justices disbarred for their part in Bush v. Gore.

This needs to be stated more to bring some sense to the rightist 'nirthers who have taken up his little crusade. There's a few of them who would be mortified if they knew they were following a 9/11 Troofer Dem.

But, sense they are more like Larry Fine, occasionally whispering "Niagara Falls" in Moe Howard's ear knowing full well the reaction it will provoke.

It does make you go mmm, but it proves nothing. I take the issue of where he was born very seriously, because if it was proven he's not born here then I would no longer consider him my lawfully elected President. It's because of that I require positive proof he wasn't born here, and so far all the positive proof is that he was born here. Officials from the state of Hawaii have said so. Berg is a registered Dem. He used to be Atty. General in PA and IIRC ran for governor too. Among his more famous suits were one against some of the SCOTUS re Bush vs. Gore and some Truther stuff as well. A Google of Philip Berg Democrat will return many links for verification.

Berg and Larry Johnson, a left blogger started driving this meme into the PUMAs during the primary. The right-wing believers hopped on the bandwagon and brought it to a new level.

Yes, but you forget to mention that this was done to DISCREDIT him in the first place, just as the nirthers are doing now, it's a big leap to say that the left invented it to keep the right wing attention on something trivial, like it was some evil plot masterminded by Rahm Emmanuel or George Soros.

Exactly. It's moved from left to right as more on the right bought into it. However, the genesis of it was with the PUMAs who see a conspiracy around every corner. Republicans on the right who see likewise then bought into the conspiracy because, well, it's a conspiracy that works to their supposed benefit (i.e. deligitimizing a president they dislike). You have not been reading the news, sir. Nancy Peolsi claims that there were swastikas at one town hall. Babs Boxer claiming the people complaining are too well dressed to be real people. The White House is asking people to report "fishy" behavior at town hall and other "inaccuracies" (aka- anything that contradicts its position) The accusations that this is all an organized astroturfing campaign. The DNC video saying that Republican hate groups are disrupting meetings.

That, in my book, is demonizing the people who are speaking out--to the extent they still can--at these "impromptu" "town hall" "debates". I suggest you read what is happening and what the Democrat leadership is saying before to take someone here to task over something they said.

There's a few of them who would be mortified if they knew they were following a 9/11 Troofer Dem.

You would think someone like pamela, despite her crazy, would draw the line at troofers, but alas! Their hatred for Obama trumps even this kookiness connection. And in pamela's case, I don't know why we would be surprised. This is a woman willing to play nice with VB. She doesn't care about the past if it helps her in the here and now. I'm guessing many nirthers are just like her- as sad as it is to say. They'd make a deal with the devil himself to get their way, and then wonder why the devil said he was due.

It's especially pathetic when there are so many real issues the Democrats and the Dear Leader can be criticized over. But instead of going for the issues and differentiating themselves a dismayingly large percentage of the GOP is playing Loony Tunes. Every day this madness goes on reduces the Republican's chances of making significant gains in Congress in the 2010 Mid Terms. Sigh.

While I have no idea why Obama hasn't released his birth certificate, that does not prove in any way, shape or form that he was born outside of the US or has something to hide.

When he got the first copy of his birth certificate on or around his birthday, he was too young to be responsible for it. It is clear that his mother or father misplaced it. Does that mean he can't be president? No, it means he has to fill out a form, and get a copy from the Health Department in Hawaii.

He did that, and here is pictures of that copy:

[Link: www.factcheck.org...]

The document is his real birth certificate, and HAS been presented outside of DailyKOS.
AND it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. birth and citizenship.

The head of the Health Department in Hawaii has confirmed that the original certificate is the same as the copy, and therefore Obama was born when and where his American family says he was, Kapiolani Hospital, Honolulu.

It has been verified by the state government official who is responsible for the document and it's authenticity.

The state created the document. That makes it his real Birth Certificate. It refers to where he was born as the county of Honolulu.

Besides, if you disagree and have proof to back up you position, you post it.

The very article you posted confirms the use of the swastika by these protesters:

"Town hall audiences and conservative bloggers protesting a Democratic-sponsored bill on health care reform have used the disturbing imagery to compare the plan championed by President Obama to how the Nazis treated prisoners in concentration camps."

I suggest you actually read your own links before posting them.

As for Boxer - she seems to be complaining about extreme partisan attacks on Obama. I'm inclined to sympathise, having seen some of the insane screamathons the nutbars on the right these days seem to be capable of.

Such comment certainly does not make the case that the Obama administration is seeking to demonise anyone any more than any other administration that criticises it's critics. Again, this is not fascism, this politics as usual. Stop whining, stop trying to convince yourself that you are being oppressed by a fascist regime.

Nobody wants to tase you, bro.

That's the real clincher. Obama DID release his birth certificate, and anyone who thinks it was faked has to explain how the entire government of the state of Hawaii can be in on the conspiracy too.

But Charles, thats the beauty of this conspiracy... they are all involved.. don't you see... it goes deeper than we first thought...

This is practically apologetics. Pelosi didn't say that they were comparing Dems to Nazis, she said that the protesters were carrying swastikas.

If I told you that black clad youths in combat boots were marching through the streets of Germany carrying swastikas it paints a picture. If I failed to mention that they were crossed out or shattered swastikas, and they were protesters against fascism, I'm being duplicitous.

Nancy Pelosi in the recorded clip is clearly inferring that people protesting were also hoisting swastikas, full stop. Comparing your opposition to Nazis or Hitler is tacky and tasteless but it also ridiculously common and as the representative for her particular district Pelosi is probably much more aware of that than any politician in the world.

First of all, I was responding to the posting of an article, not a clip. Now, if you have ANY knowledge of this pissing match at all, as seems reasonable to assume everyone does by now, one would know immediately that the protesters are comparing Obama to Hitler and that was the reason for the swastikas, just as we would know if we heard that a bunch of Islamist protesters against the 'Zionist lobby"were carrying swastikas that their purpose was to smear their enemies with that comparison.

Now, there are calls for unions to attend these meetings? This is not politics-- this is an attempt to start manipulate the image for the cameras.

I never said anything about BHO being a fascist. He is a politician with a plan; a social engineering agenda. The impression is he wants to exert his will irrespective of the will of the voters. Instead of acting in a "presidential manner" and saying that there are "legitimate concerns about this plan and what it will do and mean", he and the other Democrat leaders are castigating those who have appeared at many of the town hall. This is not a shrewd move in any political circles, especially if they have underestimated the negative sentiment against this plan. You want to pour oil onto troubled waters, not say that you will hit back, as the White House has promised to do.

Only one Senator, Claire McCaskil, has stated this this is a grass-roots, genuine reaction to the health care plan. Some other Dem senators will probably agree. The question is whether they will have the fortitude to admit it, or do they fear that the White House will denying them campaign funds in the next election cycle. Yes, it's politics. But the Dems are in the process of making a huge strategic mistake. The question is whether or not the GOP is smart enough to exploit it.

re: #264 Jimmah

Do you know anything about American identity politics? Many of my relatives would take what Pelosi said at face value, and so do lots of Americans that wish to believe the absolute worst stereotypes of those they disagree with.

Secondly why is it reasonable to assume that everyone knows about this issue? What portion of Americans are protest savvy? Only if you live in select cities like DC or NYC do you see the stuff on a regular basis. It is absolutely not covered on cable news at all. You would have to go out of your way to know anything about what goes on at protests if you are the average American. You don't have to go out of your way to hear Pelosi claim that people opposing healthcare reform are carrying swastikas into townhalls.

If you told me a bunch of Islamists were carrying swastikas into protests, I would assume you meant that they were carrying swastikas not that they were carrying crossed out swastikas or "Zionist = swastika" signs. I've seen Islamists at protests carrying actual swastikas. If you meant that they were comparing Zionists, lobbies, or Jews to Nazis and wanted to convey that message you wouldn't say, or shouldn't say that 'Islamists were carrying swastikas at a protest', since the most logical way to construe meaning from that is that they were announcing themselves as sympathetic to Nazism.

Anyone who actually employed that rhetorical tactic here would get absolutely torn to shreds.

re: #197 buzzsawmonkey

The problem is that this quick fix dream is just as much a chimera as the quick fix dream of the leftist Democrats, during the Bush administration, that they could get rid of a president they hated by holding impeachment hearings when there was no basis for impeachment.

The nirth issue is basically the same delusion, ratcheted up in volume and silliness because the Democrats have majorities in both houses, which make even the impeachment dream unworkable.

Quick fixes never work--and putting one's hopes into a quick fix is merely a way of avoiding doing any of the work which might serve to achieve the objective the quick fix is supposed to attain.

Excellent point, but I'd add that no one party has a monopoly on the quick fix mentality.
I think it's this pervasive sense that we, as Americans, are entitled to things that we don't need or earn that is rotting the fabric of the country.
It seems it's all about blame, and deflection and anger these days, not personal responsibilities (I know this is my particular hot button, and I mention it too much, but still).
Corporate greed, lax ethical standards, and shoddy thinking all spring from not being willing to take responsibility for ones actions.
I see that it's a hell of a lot easier to demonize someone with whom you don't agree than argue from a common point, that takes work.
It also seems a lot of people got a lot of opinions, but don't want to take the time to understand what they think or why... god forbid they may change their minds, or agree with the other side. I mean why do that when a snarky or dismissive response is so much simpler.
It's not left or right, it's right or wrong, and political leanings don't make much of a difference.

re: #266 calcajun

No, it is you who are not reading. The article even suggests that there might not have been any such images present.

No it does not. It is YOU and YOU ALONE who are not reading . From the article:

A spokesman for Pelosi told FOXNews.com that the speaker was referencing a photo taken at a town hall meeting hosted by Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass., which showed a protester holding a sign of a swastika crossed out over Obama's name and a question mark.

Another protestor at Rep. Lloyd Doggett's town hall meeting in Texas reportedly was seen with an SS symbol. Separately, one protester reportedly compared Massachusetts Rep. Jim McGovern to Josef Mengele, who conducted medical experiments on concentration camp prisoners.

At some events, protesters have been excessively boisterous in other ways. An image captured at Doggett's town hall showed someone holding a poster with devil's horns painted on the congressman's head. A Democratic National Committee Web ad contains an image of a constituent standing outside Rep. Frank Kratovil's office carrying a hanging effigy of the congressman.

There is nothing in that article that suggests the claim is false. If you think there is, produce it.

Boxer is claiming that this is not a "grass roots" movement, but is orchestrated. Now, there are calls for unions to attend these meetings? This is not politics-- this is an attempt to start manipulate the image for the cameras.

Manipulation - and then counter manipulation - that is just so alien to politics isn't it?///

I think the real problem is not the negative opinions these people have of the proposals, but the astroturfing and disruptive behaviour which just makes a nonsense of any attempt to discuss the issues with those people who have a genuine interest in getting better quality information or discussing their concerns. It may be that the best thing to do with these meetings now is just to scrap them; in the current extreme partisan climate, it may be that they just aren't workable.

Ignoring kooks doesn't deter them anymore. Since the advent of Teh Internets, they can form big enough echo chamber cybercircles to jerk EACH OTHER off, without any attention from us.

Salaams kufr!

Tha kaafir are nothing if not inventive! They are always giving Aisha good ideas for the waging of the internet jihaad.

For example, do you know that the Zionazi persecuters of the Palestinians, Sharon and Eshkol were born Scheinermann and Skolnik; that the butcheress of Tel Aviv, Golda Meir (spit!) was born Golda Mabovitch?

Well, Aisha does not think that sounds very Jewish. Aisha thinks that the Jews imported some other sort of kaafir, perhaps Christians or Bhuddists or peoples from another Ummah pretending to be Jews, to confuse the Muslims and then to kill them when their backs were turned.

So Aisha demands, in the Name of Allaah Ta'aala (SWT) that we check out the birth certificates and front private parts of Sharon (and of Eshkol's corpse) and she demands to see Mabovich's birth certificate and that of Mabovich's sow of a mother, to prove whether or not Sharon and Eshkol and Meir were actually Jewes. If they were not Jews then they could not be Zionist Entity "Prime Ministers" and if that was the case it would firstly undermine the Zionists as the frauds that they are.

The second effect is obvious. We could use this as an obvious legal reason to tear down the illegal apartheid wall, and then we could declare that the Muslims won the wars in 1973 and in 1967, and that the Zionist Entity now no longer exists!!! It is no longer there!!! Kufr! don't you see, the longer they don't prove their Jewishness, the longer this will go on, and only delay the inevitable reversal of the Zionist Entity!!!

ULULULULULULL!
