Snow Leopard on the Horizon
Amazon now has Mac OS X Snow Leopard available for pre-order; the upgrade price if you’re already using Leopard is a very reasonable $29. Apple has announced it will be available sometime in September.
Snow Leopard doesn’t add a lot of new features; the emphasis with this new version of the Mac OS was on optimization, 64-bit support, better use of multi-core processors, a much smaller memory footprint, and greatly enhanced speed and stability. I’ve already ordered my pre-release copy.
Here’s the Snow Leopard page at apple.com with more info on this upgrade.
(Note: if you follow the link from this post to pre-order Snow Leopard, LGF gets a small cut of the purchase price through Amazon’s Associates program.)
