Gadget of the Day: Canon EOS 5D Mark II
I have a Nikon D90 digital SLR camera, and love it. I’ve used the D90’s still photography capabilities quite a bit, but one of the items on my to-do list is to further explore the camera’s high definition video features.
The nice thing about a DSLR that shoots HD video is that you can use any SLR lens and/or filter that’s compatible with the camera, allowing a world of effects you just can’t achieve with a camcorder. It’s possible to get an amazingly professional look, if you have high quality lenses and know how to use them.
LGF reader Thanos pointed out this page at the Canon website promoting their new high-end EOS 5D Mark II 21.1MP digital SLR, with a documentary by Dallas-based photojournalist David Leeson that demonstrates the fantastic results you can get (and is pretty interesting in itself). Serious techno-lust ensued.
