Pamela Geller’s Obama-Hitler Obsession

There’s a lot of talk in the media today about the Obama-as-Hitler signs and posters showing up at town hall meetings recently; for example, this post at the New York Times Opinionator blog by Eric Etheridge: Godwin’s Law Comes to the Town Halls.

A noteworthy paragraph quotes shriekblogger Pamela Geller’s site, where she wrote that the Hitler signs are a conspiracy to make the right look bad:

Another theory has is that folks carrying the Obama/Hitler signs are Democratic plants. Pamela Geller wrote yesterday at Atlas Shrugs, there is a “fifth column manufacturing smears and lies.” Others on the right have tried to use confirmed reports that Lyndon LaRouche supporters are sporting Obama/Hitler posters at protests to distance themselves from the Obama-is-a-Nazi charge.

I had to laugh when I read this, because Geller herself is one of the most deranged and relentless “Obama is Hitler!” screechers on the Internet, and there’s no need to manufacture any “smears and lies” to prove it. She’s a one-woman campaign to make the right look crazy, and she’s doing a damned fine job of it.

Just check out this Google search of her site for pages that contain both words “Obama” and “Hitler,” with about 1,250 results.

 Frank says:

It began with lyrics, but even looking at the PMRC fund raising letter in the last paragraph, at the bottom of the page, it starts looking like it's branching into other areas when it says 'We realize that this material's pervaded other aspects of society' and it's like 'What, you gonna fix it all for me?'
