Wow. Now I'm wondering, if this weren't just the Onion, what would they do?
They'd never cop to it. But if they did, then what?
We'd be stuck with Biden, who is simply stuck in the manic phase.
It's 3 AM, and your president is redecorating the oval office, then sanding the floors and slapping a coat of paint on the white house, and the phone rings...
However, this could be a case where The Onion's satire hits close to home. I firmly believe that BHO already fits the clinical definition of narcissist, how far off can bi-polar be?
Move On and other "disrupter's" called out by Obama Care are going to disrupt in Dallas Tx in the morning at a Health Care Town Hall that one of the local R Congressmen is having.
The Tea Party of Dallas is gearing up to meet with them.
Should be a bit of a show, union thugs just got a call out too.
No it's not. I was diagnosed as hypo-manic a long time ago, and I find this kind of humor to be... well... humorless. Do you know what it is like being hypo-manic?
First off, it's like taking a pee before you even get a chance to zip open your fly. You're always three steps ahead of yourself, which can be awful dangerous if you get in your own way on a marble staircase.
And do you know what this does to relationships? I told you already. No wait, I didn't... ok... do you know what this does to relationships? You can't have any. Really, you can't stay put in bed long enough to... wait, did I ever tell you about... I'm having some problems...

That should be interesting. "Don't Mess With Texas" isn't a joke, they're serious.

The jump between a community organizer and the President of the United States is so great and so vast...I'm pretty sure Obama is smoking pot every night in the Oval Office...Can't wait to read the memoirs...the 3am call...LOL that is so funny on so many levels...:)
I mean really..If that call comes at 3am and Obama is down at the local 711 store buying a lotto ticket..We are so fucked
At 8:10pm EDT, Peter Gammons will be on ESPNEWS (call your local cable operator if you don't have ESPNEWS) where he will remember the great Tony Conigliaro on the 42nd anniversary of his beaning. It will be part of a discussion on players being hit by pitches.
However, this could be a case where The Onion's satire hits close to home. I firmly believe that BHO already fits the clinical definition of narcissist, how far off can bi-polar be?
Hoops, did ya watch the entire game last night? I couldn't believe it.
Could you believe that last play? Unreal..It reminded mr of the Herm Edwards play when we were kids...Unreal...
My points of the game..It's preseason...Nothing matters..The Lions were undefeated in preseason last year...But the Giants first line Defense?
I have never seen a bigger, faster, more Athletic Defensive line in my line..They are monsters! The line is so fast...If they stay healthy? OMG.. 2 monthes from now when the Giants are playing you can say at the water cooler...Those are some bad ass players in NY...Nod your head..Those dudes are fast...
And in real life: A young guy near here wanted to propose to his girlfriend. In a special way.
This particular young guy has a seat as a delegate for the state's biggest county, and shares a last name with an uncle who's a long-serving congressional representative, now senator. He's got the right to call himself "Esquire", if he's not too embarrassed by that absurd affectation (he's not), and he knows everybody important in city and state.
So he takes GF on a boat ride, during which they are suddenly hailed by the Marine Police squad and boarded for a "safety inspection", while a police helicopter hovers overhead, making everybody have to shout to be heard. There've been a lot of drunken boating accidents including fatalities this summer, and the couple and their friend the boat owner have been drinking. It seems like GF is about to be cuffed, when one of the water policemen finds a package. He hands it to the senator's nephew, who gets down on one knee, proffers a ring and asks GF to marry him.
Whole stunt at taxpayers' expense, while not a mile away the police commissioner is personally standing guard in the inner harbor, where the Crips and the Bloods were exchanging gunfire again over the weekend.
It's been discussed on LGF many times - mostly during the primaries and the election. I think it may have been MandyManners who posted some psychological links to narcissism and most of it fit the O to a T.
That being said, I think that any Presidential candidate has a touch of the narcissist about him. You'd have to.

and the Cowboys play them twice...yikes!...break out the speed and gadget plays
To be that strong and that fast...If the Colts had half that defense every year they would always be Champions...I am impressed with the Giant D...
there are ways around it, especially with a very mobile, clever QB..as the years have gone by the Giants have become the premier games for the CBoys...I just love the NFL...a 16 week drag race where every minute of every game counts...then double down and brawl through the one and out playoffs to get to the big dance...does not get any better than that

I agree, it takes a certain type of person to be in a perpetual popularity contest. My objection is that it seems to me impossible to tell these things by what information is available. The candidates are so carefully packaged and trained not to say anything risky - who knows what any president's personality is really like?
On try #71 to quit smoking, I used Zyban. The surreal quality of my dreams increased by a factor of 10... and I dream way to vividly to begin with.
Assuming there is a serious comment here, I can't help but wonder how you rate the surreal quality of your dreams. About the only thing I can think of is how wet they were...

I'm pretty sure Rutherford B. Hayes was a dink. Just a hunch I have always had.

BO is an easy read...it's all there, no surprises...all you have to do is connect the dots, pretty obvious with his background associations, his vapid books about himself, his clouded school years, his voting record and lack of cred...his Chicago hood time...there is no excuse for not knowing BO...the risk you speak of does not exist
Must agree. Have a bi polar friend, and its been a real challenge. And its not funny.
The Onion sees NOTHING as sacred. It's why I love it. If you want to be shocked out of your shorts and laughing your ass off, take a look at their transcription of the moon landing between Armstrong and Mission Control - it's in their "Our Dumb Century" review of the 20th century.

It was a serious comment. I'll give you one example without getting deep into content. One of my dream styles I call the "epic" dream. This plays like a movie... with opening/closing credits, soundtrack, etc.

That's without the Zyban.
Zyban is poison...woe be it for the person who takes that stuff
that right there is some serious stuff...welbutrin drove me nuts, I stopped taking it
zyban and wellbutrin are the same thing - different names because insurance doesn't cover zyban, prescribed for smoking cessation purposes, but covers wellbutrin.
I tried but couldn't take it, made my heart race, I thought I was going to die.

Just went to look for that and I'll be damned if I can figure out how to find it.
Help?
I have a hard copy book, that is basically Page One of the news of every year in the century.
Basically, the moon landing was:
Armstrong: Holy Fuck! I'm on the fucking moon!
Mission Control" Roger that, you're on the fucking moon.
Armstrong: Jesus H. Christ in a chicken basket, I'm on the fucking moon!
Sir? Sir? Can we take your order?
Armstrong: What the hell.We are one the frigging moon...
Welcome to McDonalds Sir...Big Mac?
Armstrong: Oh for gawds sake..I got no cash!
We Don't take credit from NASA Sir...
Armstrong: Dollar menu?
Maybe...
I'll never forgive him for having the first telephone installed in the WH. Tool of the devil it is. /
At the time, wasn't the only other phone system in the country in Deadwood, SD. Was the president checking up on how Al Swearingen, Mr. Woo, and the other cock-sukas were doing?

I never read his book(s) - but I assumed they'd be full of mumbo-jumbo. If I were running for president or senate or whatever and was writing a book towards that end, its safe to assume any good thing I ever did would be included in the book and anything bad, not so much. Whether the book is a clue to his personality, I'd first want to know whether he actually believes what he wrote or authorized someone to write. As for the rest, they may not be good things, but do they indicate narcissism?

better yet have a real invasion and lose. so that the DPRK (aka DORK) will counterfeit 100$C which will be exchanged for old American $$ at 87 cents on the dollar.

Well, if Pianobuff is self descriptive, that makes some sense. Personally I tend to let the memory fade on waking, since there is too much clash with reality, but if yours meshes better ... enjoy..

Only 4 payments of $39.50 !
My wife is gonna have a grand Christmas this year !
One of the "millionaires" on the new show Shark Tank is a guy they introduce as having sold *billions* of dollars of crap on tv infomercials, including the Obama coins.
Why am I too busy working for a living to make any real money?
My father was in Vietnam and I remember him telling me about this being used as a slur. I doubt most people would recognize it as a slur today though.
some have long memories...my father always referred to the Japanese as gooks...not just the military, all of them...it gets handed down and is definately a slur

I purchased a bunch of those "limited edition" coins. Come to find out, they aren't worth the enamel they are painted with./
And they once again have a compliant mainstream media carrying the water for local government. From today's Seattle Times article: Voters in 2003 and 2007 approved property-tax levies for parks, but those levies were designed to maintain regional facilities such as Marymoor Park and Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center, not the neighborhood parks now in jeopardy.
Technically correct - but again, that is NOT how local officials sold the parks levy to the people two years ago.
From the kingcounty.gov webpage on County Parks: In August 2007, King County voters overwhelmingly approved two modest property tax levies that help secure the future of King County's 25,000 acres of parks. Proposition 1, which passed by more than 63%, is a five-cent, six-year levy to replace the operating and maintenance levy that expired at the end of 2007. This levy will keep parks open, as well as restore maintenance to pre-2002 budget crisis levels.
Vancouver patients needing neurosurgery, treatment for vascular diseases and other medically necessary procedures can expect to wait longer for care, NDP health critic Adrian Dix said Monday.
Dix said a Vancouver Coastal Health Authority document shows it is considering chopping more than 6,000 surgeries in an effort to make up for a dramatic budgetary shortfall that could reach $200 million.
You're kidding, right? Know any ex players? The ones I know are in constant pain!
I know one guy who had NFL potential as a offensive lineman. Never made it past senior in college because of injuries. He's had something like 10+ operations on his back from playing. I wonder how many of these players make it into old age. Anyway, a nasty game.

I can barely watch either football or boxing anymore, just seem barbaric.
OTOH, Dodget pitcher had a come-backer bounce off his skull the other day, though he seems to have come through OK that's very very close to the bad thing.

You are so right on with that...Only a few thousand peole on this planet that have the strength, speed, Talent and balls to play in the NFL...The price is high
No worries: Uncle Sam will simply mandate that subspecialists like me start doing primary care.
that and limit subspecialty residencies and fellowships and mandating a certain percentage of medical school grads do a primary care residency...
and then of course , they will tell us where we can live.
Nah. Primary care should be by much cheaper nurse-practitioner types, who can probably handle 90% of common illnesses and refer just problem cases up to you Dr. House guys.
That's what they were preaching to me thirty years ago in academic studies of the issues, and I assume it's much truer today.
The notion that a national park should remind blacks of racism is nonsensical. The level of insularity and incuriosity about the outside world that the video displays, and the support for the notion that unless there is some sort of historical connection/role model of the same color, there is no reason for breaking out of that insularity, is horrific.

For any of you interested in either Israel Advocacy or in the going-ons of the radical left on University campuses...
Daniel Freeman-Malloy the (unfortunately, Jewish) head of the Solditary for Palestinian Human Rights (SPHR) group at Toronto's York University has written himself something of a manifesto describing the struggle between pro- and anti- Israel forces on that campus.
He is perhaps best known for having sued York University and winning an undisclosed settlement from them (rumored to have been in the $700k range) for their taking disciplinary action against him after he organized an unlawful anti-israel rally several years ago.
Ever since that lawsuit, York University has been very loathe to take any disciplinary action against anyone and the campus is now a virtual anarchy, with controversial rallies taking place on a very regular basis.
I think it is interesting to see what he has to say, and I think other Lizards will find it equally fascinating.
By strategy and habit, Israel advocacy organizations seek to undermine progressive political initiatives regarding Israel/Palestine by relying on a twofold strategy of (1) direct, physical disruption of events and (2) institutional pressure to bring about disciplinary action against Palestine solidarity activists and organizations by the school’s administration. These two tracks increasingly form part of an integrated campaign of intimidation and repression.
There is presently an opportunity to drastically weaken the capacity of Israel advocacy organizations to regulate campus politics at York. An Israel advocacy backlash is inevitable, and its general contours can already be identified. Considering the historical backdrop of this backlash may be helpful in developing strategies to overcome it.
This article outlines the history of York University’s association with Israel and Israel advocacy, a record closely linked to the development of the broader politics of Israel advocacy in Canada. As the current furor over Israeli Apartheid Week amply demonstrates, the broadening of Palestine solidarity activities on Canadian campuses involves tense interaction with Israel advocacy organizations on a variety of fronts. Examination of the situation at York, historically the site of concentrated and extreme Israel advocacy organizing, may thus be relevant beyond York's campus.

and instead of the medical office, you go to the post office or the local union hall for your medical care

agreed...and they are well compensated for it, not as much as your typical sissy baseball player tho, who hits the DI for a hangnail
Interesting. I never thought of that before but not that I think of it I rarely (if ever) see black guys out fishing or black families camping. I guess since blacks mostly moved to the cities and urban areas they lost touch with camping and hunting. Since the 50's (probably long before) white culture has been in the suburbs with programs like boyscouts. Not sure if Boy Scouts is a big hit in the inner cities.

too much work, I want to Google my symptoms and have the pills fedexed to me, and let the nurse twitter my symptoms, hopefully the new model iPods will monitor temperature and pulse, at least.

I remember Ricky Williams was called stupid for wanting to smoke weed more than playing football. I thought it was brilliant. He made a few millions and wouldn't be crippled for the rest of his life. I think I read somewhere that he's playing again though.

The fallback onto slavery happens in every argument about race. That isn't going to go away in my lifetime, unfortunately. Someone plays it, and then all dialogue ends. You can be having a good discussion and that will always kill it. Nothing I can do about it today except treat a man as a man.

Depends on where you are, I guess. Back in Boston I rarely saw black families out doing "nature" type of stuff, but since I moved to Atlanta and live out in the "country" I see it often. Where I live is about 40% African American, 40% white and 15% Latino and 5% "other.
The Boy Scout troop my son was in several years ago was at least 50% black. 3 out of the top 5 scout leaders were black guys also who LOVED to hunt, fish, camp out ,etc

I've never thought of it either, one reasons the family we most frequently go camping with is black, he has a nice jet boat to go and terrorize fish with.
I think I'd look more to current economic and cultural issues than back 150 years. Vacations, camping, are family events, fishing and hunting are father, son activities. IMHO, it comes back to the Moynihan Report accurately predicated and Cosby more recently has taken heat for, the state of the black family.

Great point. Alluding to my 201, most if not all of the kids we knew came from 2 parent families and the black troop leaders had son(s) involved

the new GTO is a disaster...agreed, the Challenger is awsome, almost identical to it's forbearer...I have seen a few Camaros on the street and I'm less than impressed

Well, everybody here fishes.
But I worked for a number of years for the state Dept of Agriculture, and we had a very difficult time finding black job applicants with a degree in any agriculture-related field. Very difficult.

I'm not sure sport should be seen as barbaric, I do think it is an aspect of human nature though and won't be sublimated any sooner than any other animal contesting for breeding rights. I'm thinking Wilt Chamberlain here - lol
And once you distill it out, I find boxing very compelling - the ultimate sport, one on one, knock the other guys ass out. Football is close, but the violent essence that is the attraction is often lost in the intricacy of the plays and the need for cooperation.
But that is just way too much thinking about it. Go Cowboys!

Anyway, I want air scoops, like the ol' heavy chevy's. I don't care if they only feed the air conditioner, it's the thought that counts, like the fake chrome exhaust vents on half the GM line.

So far the Challenger is my favorite, I don't even count the new GTO as retro muscle.

Yeah, but a "degree" in any agricultural field is far differnt than a couple of guys going to the beach/lake/pond and spending a few hours drowning worms. I'm SURE around your way there are many black people that fish just like I would, a day of fun and maybe catch soemthing tastey

I like (have liked) both sports, but the injuries, especially brain injuries from boxing, just seem inexcusable.

Well in theory, it could have worked out well for the reasons already discussed - trading fame and records for a body that's not shattered(and still having more money than 99% of Americans.) He did something wrong obviously, Albusteve mentioned debt. But had he not wasted his money or made stupid decisions and stayed retired, I'd have no criticism.

You are so wrong...Boxing sucks..One time in High School i thought I'd try out for Boxing thinking.Hell..I should be able to kick somebody's butt..It was off season..I'll never forget this..I jumped into the ring with some kid and he beat the living hell out of me..I was dancing around for awhile trying to look cool...I lasted about a round and half...Never...and I mean never step into the ring with a boxer..
Anyway, I want air scoops, like the ol' heavy chevy's. I don't care if they only feed the air conditioner, it's the thought that counts, like the fake chrome exhaust vents on half the GM line.
How to save GM - bring back the Chevelle SS, and put a fuckin engine in it, a big one!
I like (have liked) both sports, but the injuries, especially brain injuries from boxing, just seem inexcusable.
I'm a throwback type. I like the idea of the toughest man in the world, pound for pound, with the heavyweight being at the pinnacle.
Too many Friday nights with my Dad and my Uncle back in the day.

I learned to box by my Dad and I putting on the gloves and then having him knock the hell out of me (self defense lessons). I was a skinny so and so but when we went to it in HS, I did kick some butts.

Boxing is dead...It's evolved.unfortunately
I know that it's hard to ignore a post, but he preys on the response. Just let the original post whither on the vine because you know the comeback to your response will just increase your ire in which case he wins
The Dear Leader would be displeasd. Better to sell "green" cars & go out on the road & get seriously killed.
Actually, the Smart car is a genius idea. You know Mr Greenie is gonna buy the damn thing, so it's already named for him (yeesh), and there's plenty of room on the back for bumper stickers.

I have a gaze list, certain posters are ignored, an I am sure they are used to it in many aspects of their lives.
Yeah, but a "degree" in any agricultural field is far differnt than a couple of guys going to the beach/lake/pond and spending a few hours drowning worms. I'm SURE around your way there are many black people that fish just like I would, a day of fun and maybe catch soemthing tastey
Well, yes, that's why I said here, everybody fishes. Every body of water has people sitting, fishing. Even I have been known to go fishing. But don't ask me to touch a worm.

SAme here, but I will "go after" someone if I think they are harrassing a "freind" of mine here. It may not do anything but distract for a moment, but I have very thick skin so if it takes a little heat off of my "friend" it's worth it.
there are ways around it, especially with a very mobile, clever QB..as the years have gone by the Giants have become the premier games for the CBoys...I just love the NFL...a 16 week drag race where every minute of every game counts...then double down and brawl through the one and out playoffs to get to the big dance...does not get any better than that
Amen. The hubby, sons, and I are counting down. Why does the season have to start so darn late this year? Would the fabric of the universe rip if they actually started on Labor Day weekend?

pisses me off to hear all of the crude demeaning comments.
I do however take your point.

Devolved from where I sit. Ali-Spinks. Sad. Sad. Sad.
My buddy totally embarrassed me..He almost jumped out of his pants and yelled...You are sitting next to Mr. coffee! Look!
I did look long enough to see the wince in his eyes...I have his autograph...But it's sad when you feel empathy for one of the greatest Athletes on earth...His ears turned red..I was so embarrassed for him..
It was messed up...
Hope you are well
Nana, I hear ya. He sounds like abully & unhinged about Palin.
He has a problem with Jewish women? A new low.
Spot on. He went after me so viciously that I was in shock, and also another female Jewish Lizard who did nothing to draw his ire.
I am not the President of the Sarah Palin fan club, but she no more deserves those comments...I honestly think he has a big problem re females, and he seems to be a bright man, which makes it even more reprehensible.
I have not said a word since he started this, but damn it, enough is enough.

Just heard a clip for the evening news...
This year college freshman class was born in 1990!

Wonderful that you met Joe. I would have been totally cowed.

Thank you for posting this, NYNana. It made me feel less alone.
Barney Frank, held a Town Hall tonight where he demeaned his constituents. I'm sure that the spin will be that the Soccer Moms & Senior Veterans were just an ouit of contol mob.
The worst thing about cash for clunkers is the deliberately destruction of the clunkers. In the third world, any operating car, no matter how old, is immensely valuable to impoverished people.
We are blind to this enormous poverty. It is both arrogant and selfish for us to destroy assets that could enrich poor people, rather than sharing them by putting them on freighters for shipment to impoverished third world countries.
Are the Democrats stupid, or merely callous? Obama's half-brother still is living in a shack in Kenya without plumbing or electricity, correct? What would a clunker mean to him?

Its the new on board computers, never ever give a machine a woman's voice.
Your doors ajar, fasten your seat belt, etc.
Nagged by a machine.
Cadillac had the voice early, had one turned upside down in a water, I'm laying in the water trying to keep occupants heads above water, while we extricated them.
The whole time, "Bing; Your door is ajar!" "Bing; Your door is ajar!" "Bing; Your door is ajar!" "Bing; Your door is ajar!" "Bing; Your door is ajar!"

He is so arrogant. I can't stand watching him lecture the bank executives when he and Dodd did most of the leg work to cause the mortgage meltdowns.
People are really p.o.ed if Frank is getting push-back in Massachusetts.

When I was a kid..My Dad took me to hear Jesse Owens speak at a dinner..
I have his autograph..I have never heard anyone so inspiring in my life...I hung on every word...The proudest moment in my life was to shake his hand..

Damn, hoosier. I'm going to have to become a member of your posse. The most famous athlete I ever met was Mary Lou Retton ( my daughter was a 'near' world class gymnast).
Oh, and I got Tony Dorsett's autograph about 15 minutes before his career ended in Greeley Co with a preseason practice knee injury.
Firefighters are merciless, if you don't have a sense of humor don't try. Watch a few who didn't just struggle. Not only with the ribbing, but the gallows humor which is necessary not to go crazy.
I turn the voice off, and a good 20% of the time know a better route than the GPS.
But I got it for the wife, she is directionally challenged.
We were headed down Route 65 from Chicago driving for the Chicago area headed to Myrtle Beach. At Lafayette the GPS kept saying to get off & head East. You have to go to Louisville & then head East.
The damn thing just kept scolding me. That's when it became Oprah.

Louise kept putting me on a toll road to go two off ramps when I first got to Orlando. Damn women cost me 75 cents every time. Finally turned toll roads off. We are friends. For now :)

Just don't get the Thelma upgrade or you'll be in a world of hurt.

I also have a daughter (and 3 sons)...she would take Cato and slice and dice him so brilliantly that he never would know what hit him! She is a professional writer, and I am so very proud of her...a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, daughter in law and sister in law. She does not suffer fools lightly. And when she and my sons were growing up? They had the usual warfare, that I, as an 'only' could never comprehend! But if any kid picked on one of them? They united as a group, and sliced and diced that kid verbally!
I am taking Satty's advice, though, and am going to *scroll*.
I'm all for spirited debate but when people go into "My God-you're an idiot for disagreeing with me. I can't believe you can even breathe, you're so stupid." mode, forget it.
Nice snicker here. In Picture # 1 is Candidate Barack Obama. In Picture #2 is "Homeless Guy."
I oppose the President about 85% of the time. He is still the President of the United States.
Like Rush, I would prefer that his POLICIES fail. AND - prefer that the Republic Prevails.
That said, my feelings are this:
1. As to the Safety of President Obama - PROTECT HIM - That is Absolute.
2. As to the POLICIES of President OBAMA - Support him when it looks/feels right. Oppose Him when it doesn't. That is POLITICS.
3. Make YOUR Politics better than his - and Prevail - in 2010 and beyond.
Whoops. Sorry. Anyway Buzzsawmonkey, I don't think the low attendance at National Parks by African Americans has anything to do with lack of intellectual curiosity. I think it has everything to do with the fact that the Civil Rights Act was not enacted until the mid 1960's. Before that time and really since, black families have had little opportunity to "See the USA in their Chevrolet." They likely wouldn't have had motels/hotels where they could stay or restaurants where they'd feel welcome. Going on family vacations was not a standard part of life in the black community.

Seems to be the debate style of choice for many, and they are confused as to why they are loathed.

Black families take family vacations. Why do you think they don't?

AND - by 1965, anywhere that Chevrolet was NOT allowed to park was subject to a HUGE lawsuit - Thank You Lyndon Johnson AND Everett Dirksen. The OLD "D" and "R" BULLS of the US Senate.
Our "Negro"/"Black"/"African-American" Citizens deserved that treatment since 1775, and paid for it in their blood and talent, starting with Crispus Attucks at the Battle of Concord - EVEN - including CSA Corvee'd soldiers fighting for their homes in 1864-5 for a regime that considered them "less than human."
Economics are another matter - My Model would be either GW Carver or Mr. Bell of Stax Records. Dependence on Socialism is still DEPENDENCE.
Later buzz. I was just going to say that it is nice being on a dead thread, sometimes, talking shit and having fun. Reminds me of the LNDT. Nothing to serious. Thanks Lizards.
That's the dumbest damn idea I've heard in a long time. An aversion to soil/land is now in the black gene?
I find it sad, that he'd blame that. Sad that blacks but don't enjoy the parks. I don't know if you saw my response to KT, but IMHO it's more related to the current state of the black family and economics.

The Civil Rights Act has been law for nearly half a century. There are plenty of prosperous black people. There have always been places which were not restricted, as well as places which were, back when restrictions existed--but they have not existed for almost fifty years. That is a lifespan which stretches from the youth of today's grandparent to the birth of modern infants.
The video--if you bothered to watch it--clearly shows that the horizons of today's ghetto dwellers are terribly self-constricted.
OK. The people living in ghettos (or as you say, ghetto dwellers)
are "self-constricting" travel to national parks for vacations? You mean the that "ghetto-dwellers" who eke out an existance and have no means of transportation aren't going to parks because they have no intellectual curiosity. Unrestricted has never, and doesn't now mean welcome. How about that swim club that rejected the inner-city black kids?
It's not comfortable go where you're not welcome. And 50 years is not a long time in the history of a culture.
By the way, of course I saw the video. I guess you and I just look at the reasons for low attendance differently.

Ofertheloveof...
OK, I wasn't even going to post this. We went to Nags Head last week.
An African-American family with 2 kids stayed in the cottage across from us.
Nice family. Our kids had a blast at the beach. We joked around, had dinner in one night with them, just hamburgers and hot dogs. Maybe YOU are the one not getting out enough.
Jesus wept.
Later Lizards. It has been great, relaxed and fun talking to you tonight. Stay scaly. Kids start school tomorrow. Yippie some mommy and daddy time again.

What WE will agree with is the following - "YOU ARE ONLY A VICTIM - IF - YOU ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE ONE."
That goes for RACE, ETHNICITY, GENDER et.al. The WAY I SEE IT - the Constitutional "All Men" is a shorthand for all MEN, WOMEN, (Of any and All Skin Colors,) GAYS, LESBIANS, BI-SEXUALS, TRANSGENDERS and so on.
As to "Marriage" - I prefer a Heterosexual Male+Female Relationship as at least "Marriage Clasic." I would prefer that other "forms" take another name. At worst I am "Anti-Semantic."

Both the TV and the box, my cats would live the box.
How ya doing?
DZes -
Well, Quite Well in fact - Do I get you right? - your CATS would POOP on your Cable Box as My cat did on my Commodore Computer in 1983? Thought my Cat had bad taste back then. Perhaps your Cable Box is WAY OLDER than my 'pute was at the time. Pray Tell.

LOL, i thought your were teasing about the box the TV came in.
Fortunately they use the litter box without fail.
The Onion made a pretty good satire here. I don't find it offensive, just because the subject is bipolar disorder. It's not like Obama really has the illness and they were making fun of that. They real point is the difference between campaigning and governing. Campaigning is fun. It's easy to be positive and energetic and enthusiastic. Governing on the other hand is tough, difficult and at times downright depressing.
I didn't say it was a bad goal, only that the rationalization was dumb. Farming is an honorable profession in this country and to say that blacks are averse to it for historical reasons (back when 90% of everyone lived on the land) is condescending and stupid.
