Video: Ex-Jihadis

Video • Views: 1,857

Here’s a video clip from the Israeli Defense Forces, showing what happened September 25, 2009, when Islamic Jihad terrorists in Gaza prepared to launch rockets into Israel to attempt random murder, unaware that their every move was being watched.

Youtube Video

In the above video an Unmanned Air Vehicle captures two Islamic Jihad terrorists exiting a structure, carrying rockets east of Gaza City. As the two reach their launch zone, a third terrorist joins them to prepare for the attack. Subsequently, IAF forces bomb the site leading Islamic Jihad’s missiles to misfire from secondary explosions.

The three terrorists hit were part of a terrorist cell that has been firing rockets into Israel for the past few weeks, including rockets that hit the city of Sderot during the holiday of Rosh HaShana (the Jewish New Year) a week ago. The names of the three terrorists are Mahmoud Mussah Rammadan Bana, Kamel Hamdan Ibrahim Dakhdukh and Mohamed Salem Barawi Marshoud. Approximately 50 rockets and mortar shells were launched at Israel during the last three months, totalling more than 250 since the end of Operation Cast Lead and more than 750 in 2009. Throughout 2008, over 3300 rockets and mortars were fired from the Gaza Strip at Israel.

UAVs are bringing a little more “symmetry” to those who employ “asymmetric” tactics. And to think that the person who got them might have been a woman sitting in an air conditioned trailer hundreds of miles away, sipping on a Red Bull.

Yup. And there’s the psychological component on the enemy’s end that you’re fighting a machine, without feelings, and if you manage to destroy that machine, another will take it’s place.

I wonder how the DARPA Terminator research is coming along? If nothing else, we ought to build something that looks like the Terminator endoskeleton that does nothing more than light up it’s red eyes and crawl towards a human heat source when the UAV it’s stuffed into crashes. Just to give our opponents something to think about.

It not only left a mark, but guess what happened when the Palestinians held funerals for these two terrorists. The Islamic Jihad thugs started firing off their guns into the air, injuring a bunch more people.

At the same time Mahmoud Abbas claims that Israel is attempting to be a colonial power. Revisionist history in play as when does a colonial power unilaterally give up territory acquired in war to its mortal enemy that has never stopped calling for nothing less than the destruction of Israel?

I know. Let’s give them a state. /

Hang on to your hat.

There’s a massive cold front moving down from the North and in my neck of the woods they’re predicting that we’ll have 60 mph winds, strong thunderstorms, plummeting temps, heavy rain and possibly some snow moving in later tonight. A Marine warning is out with 6-8 foot waves expected, and people are getting their boats off the water as quick as they can get them off today.

Yeah - I saw the wind predictions, too. No worse than 40 mph in my area, but they will only add to the chill.

And we tend to lose power if anyone in the area sneezes, so there’s that to look forward to.

I think he’s waiting for someone else to come up with a plan - someone he can lay blame on if things turn south later on. This seems to be SOP for 0bama - it’s the same thing he’s doing with health care, cap and trade and pretty much all of his proposals. He wants Congress to do all the work, and he wants Congress to take all the blame when the proposals either fail to pass or are found wanting once they are approved.

You think that’s sad, look at this:

Gates: Bush lacked Afghanistan strategy; Obama’s is ‘first real’ one

Seems like the French have more testicular fortitude about nukes than our own president. Amazing what has happened since January.

…Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, came close to mocking his US counterpart for the good intentions, which Mr Obama had heralded as an “historic” step towards nuclear abolition, even though it set no targets or fresh mandates.

“We live in a real world not a virtual world,” the Frenchman told the 15-member council. “And the real world expects us to take decisions.

Dreams

“President Obama dreams of a world without weapons … but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite.

“Iran since 2005 has flouted five security council resolutions. North Korea has been defying council resolutions since 1993.

“I support the extended hand of the Americans, but what good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? “More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe a UN member state off the map,” he continued, referring to Israel.

The sharp-tongued French leader even implied that Mr Obama’s resolution 1887 had used up valuable diplomatic energy.

“If we have courage to impose sanctions together it will lend viability to our commitment to reduce our own weapons and to making a world without nuke weapons,” he said.

Mr Sarkozy has previously called the US president’s disarmament crusade “naive”.

Morning All

As pleased as we all no doubt were with the forced admission by dinnerjacket about the Qum nuclear enrichment facility, the entire cat and mouse game that was played out has left me with a serious question:

I have a sinking feeling that Israel was not in on the intell party - not in on the find itself at Qum, not in on the human int nor the satellite stuff.

Nothing in any of the statements after the fact by Israel, by the US, by the French, by the Brits gives even the slightest hint that the Israelis were inside the int circle.

Try this exercise: recall the harsh pressure by Obama on the settlements issue in spite of the shouts by the Israelis to keep our focus on Iran - then go through the public moves of each side, first imagining that Obama knows about Qum but Netanyhu does not, then again with both sides in on the intel loop.

If I imagine Netanyhu as in the know, it is a real stretch to assess the back and forth statements on settlements as playing out the way it did.

We also know that during this time, the Obama regime was giving the closed door salute to Israeli military and diplomatic ties over the past (say) six months.

Here is what we know:
- we find the site and stay quiet about it,
- we bring in the French and the Brits,
- Iran finds out (how - mole) that we have Qum in our sights,
- both sides stay quiet,
- then (what trigger?) while the UN is about to assemble, the dinnerjacket gang decides to send a note to El Baradi (IAEA) saying “…we’re building this pilot project…” (ed. El Baradi’s wife is Iranian)

At the UN, the Gang of three - Obama, Brown and Sarkozy - expose the lying and deception by the Iranians, denounce the Qum build - and seemingly, we in the West have finally got a lever we can really bend into to disloge the Mad Mullahs regime in Teheran.

All good so far.

Problem is that if I am right and Israel was out in the cold, what does that say about the nature of its relationship with the USA, with France and with Britain?

What does it say about the vaunted Israeli agencies in whose hands enormous responsibility is placed?

Have you seen anything that leads you to think that the Israelis were in the loop?

Looking at it the other way, if they were in the know as you suggest (and I hope you are right), then why is there no evidence or hint in the words used from any player to that effect?

Why would the Gang of Three leave the impression that only they knew?

From the Israeli side, check out how the Israeli F.M reacted for example.

UAVs are bringing a little more “symmetry” to those who employ “asymmetric” tactics. And to think that the person who got them might have been a woman sitting in an air conditioned trailer hundreds of miles away, sipping on a Red Bull.

That seems unlikely since Israel is about the size of New Jersey, but still, a woman in an air conditioned trailer tens of miles away has to count for something.

No kidding…

If anything, I would suspect that the whole idea was to have everyone BUT Israel call Iran on the carpet about this, so Iran (and the world) knew that it wasn’t just a PR move by Israel.

I would say in the current world situation, this makes the whole announcement more credible and acceptable to the world.

Or more to the point, blow up terrorist scum with essentially no chance of them blowing YOU up.

They - the US in particular - were looking both on the ground and via satellite.

No doubt the Israelis were doing the same - my question is how much was being shared?

The find first appeared in the int world two years ago but the community always suspected (from the discovery of the main facility in 2002) that there would be another one.

I’m guessing that Israel may have been cut in initially by the Bush regime.

Unfortunately I also guess that most of that access ended or was constricted since Obama - say about Nov 5 2008.

Walter - Ok. I hope you are right.

But, how do you work through the dialogue between (particularly) the US and Israel over the past six months or so if you imagine Israel in on it all?

The way it unfolded then makes no sense.

To say nothing of the acting ability of all the players if you are right.

119 Mad Prophet Ludwig  Sun, Sep 27, 2009 8:43:14am

Hello All… I can’t post too much today, but I honestly have to say this is the first really good news I’ve seen in a bit!

So what do we see here?

We see three people who were attempting to indiscriminately kill random people whom they never met - right before the Holiest day of their intended victim’s year.

Every holiday, Israel goes on an extra alert because the enemy wants to show their “respect” for other faiths. I am bringing this point not so much to rail against the intended insult, but rather to drive home the difference in mentality that obtains.

In Jewish everything is secondary to saving a life. There is no notion that murdering someone on a holiday is worse than murdering any other time. What values the most is protecting people. The only real anger at the intended insult, is the cowardice involved in that the terrorists are hoping to catch people unawares.

This is because every single aspect of Judaism is about life, preserving life, leading a better life and loving the lives of others. The holidays all exist in one facet or another to reinforce that idea.

On the other side, religiosity is more important than life itself and murder is a “holy” act.

If people could just open their eyes to this simple reality, no-one would bash Israel.

Mandy - yes, likely in on it under Bush, but evidently the solid, confirmation both on the ground and satellite imagery was only developed in the last six months or so.

122 Colin Nelson  Sun, Sep 27, 2009 8:52:17am

re: #117 sattv4u2

Absolutely agree.

My take is based on how the relationship between Israel and particularly the US administration has played out over the past months.

If I look at all the pressure and the Israeli replies - think the settlements thing - none of the statements and accusations ring true if I imagine Netanyhu (plus his inner circle) had this information.

And as I said, if you are right, Wow they really can act - and keep a secret.

I detect a dangerous generalization. Another link posted overnight notes that 2/3 of Palestinians want a two-state solution. Without digressing into a discussion of who gets what in that scenario, it certainly presupposes the willingness to enter into some form of compromise. My feeling has always been that the 2/3 of Palestinians who are tired off all this shit and want to move on with their lives, and perhaps have a country that resembles Israel more than it does Egypt (or Yemen) are scared shitless of the 1/3 minority with guns and a death wish. Palestinian change will come from within, it will be bloody, and it will happen no matter what Hamas says or wants or how many of their brethren they murder. It is the inertia of history - can’t stop it, baby.

Gravity’s Rainbow. The V2 has always exerted a fascination on me: A visionary science fiction device brought to life, and a monumental triumph of technology. British historian Bill Gunston called it “the most futuristic weapon in history, not just the most advanced of its time but farther out in front than anything has ever been.” Yet thousands of slave workers died building it and its real purpose was nothing more than random terror in support of a demonic ideology. In some ways, it encapsulates all that is wrong and disturbing in the modern world.
