Inspector Dan Has a New Theory

Blogosphere • Views: 4,135

Dan Riehl continues spinning off his weird, creepy fantasies about murdered census worker Bill Sparkman.

He’s actually had an email exchange with a trained investigator who agrees with him that Sparkman just might have been a child predator — and may not even have been hanged at all: Riehl World View: Was Bill Sparkman Actually Hanged?

Riehl laughs — oh how he laughs! — at those who think he’s a few shingles shy of a roof.

Sparkman may indeed have been “hanged,” even if it wasn’t the cause of death. If he were killed off site, then taken to the cemetery to where they wanted to display the body, his legs may not have been completely straight. For example, he could have been placed in the trunk of a second car in transit.

Point being, with his legs slightly bent, they could have remained off the ground for a time due to rigor mortis. Over time they would have straightened some, perhaps enough to just touch the ground were he hung rather low.

It probably would have taken two men to display a dead body in such a manner.

It’s a fascinating theory, if nothing else. And only one more reason why I’m laughing at the closed minded people who think they know all the facts without speculating as broadly as one might.

There’s all sorts of information floating around out there that may or may not be linked to this case. Someone cited an old Craig’s list posting for what appeared to be a child predator in this area looking for a boy to “mentor”.

What disgusts me the most is that we have the brutal murder of someone and that all this creep, who has nothing to do with it, can do is smear the name of the deceased.

So why write "fed" on him, and not "short eyes"?

And he could have been killed by Elvis.

Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot!?!

Was Sparkman hanged? What the fuck is Dan Riehl smoking? He's more than a few shingles shy of a roof, he's lacking the fucking rafters as well.

And to what end... Well, he doesn't want people to think that tea party types did it...

You know that kind of proves that thinks tea party types are capable of it.

So- he thinks it's funny to completely pull pure speculation out of his ass to smear a dead men he doesn't even know? This is beyond depraved.

Nothing like endeavoring in character assassination of the dead. Dan Riehl is clear engaged in blaming the victim and going out of his way to demonize the victim through hearsay, innuendo and unsubstantiated information. It's as if though Dan Riehl is saying "Bill Sparkman deserved to be murdered."

Well, nobody should be speculating EITHER WAY based on news reports or unnamed sources ... If some rabid psycho people did it for political reasons (terrorists) then it is what it is. That doesn't mean that wanting lower taxes and less government interference makes me a psycho and invalidates my beliefs.

This guy doesn't have to have "deserved it" . This crime has absolutely no bearing on political beliefs really, because someone who is capable of that kind of homicide would kill for any beliefs they held, left or right. up or down.

I think it's ghoulish to use a senseless murder to gain political points either way. And beyond deranged to start impugning the victim based on how he was murdered.

AP Exclusive: Son sure Ky. census taker was slain

The son of a U.S. Census Bureau worker found hanged from a tree in eastern Kentucky with the word "fed" scrawled on his chest says he has no doubt his father was slain.

Josh Sparkman tells The Associated Press he's frustrated investigators won't confirm that and continue to say they haven't ruled out suicide or accidental death.

Bill Sparkman was a substitute teacher and part-time census worker whose body was found tied to a tree with a rope around his neck in a remote Appalachian forest earlier this month. The Clay County coroner says "fed" was written on the 51-year-old's chest, apparently in felt tip pen.

Josh Sparkman, a 19-year-old adopted by Bill Sparkman when he was a baby, says police and the FBI have searched his father's home but told him little.

It's all perfectly clear. Dan Riehl is covering up for what he knows is THE TRVTH -- the hanged man was really a victim of a UFO abduction-probing. To keep investigators from figuring it out, Riehl is doing his masters' bidding by putting out a misleading story.

Or something very close to this. Malkin, et all, erupted over this news and immediately went on the defensive, concocting all sorts of justifications for why it couldn't possibly have been the work of anyone associated with the Tea Parties or their leadership. Similar fabrications seem to have become a sort of cottage industry on the Right, attempting to provide excuses for their non-involvement in things that...they haven't even been accused of.

Guilty, much?

Exactly. I made that point upstairs. They know full well they are whipping up Oklahoma City bomber type propaganda. They know full well that some psycho will do something violent sooner or later based on the shit that these freaks have been posting. They know full well they want to distance themselves from the consequences of that.

Who said anything about "can't"? Not me. But hell, think what you want.

I'm thinking that the more talk, the worse.

Dan Riehl is still an asshole, whether we add to the chatter or not.

So LGF is making it worse by denouncing the person who actually is being the asshole here? If it was your family member, might you not appreciate someone standing up and saying "Dan Riehl is an asshole for this"?

98 Racer X  Tue, Sep 29, 2009 11:11:10am

I'm thinking about Bill Sparkman's family - who are devastated right now. The murder of a family member is a horrible thing to have to go through.

Dan Riehl is an asshole.

re: #86 Killgore Trout

I guess I sorta disagree here. People who kill like that are deranged. Whether they subscribe to conspiracy theories and extreme views on the right, left or not at all. I don't know if I fault any commentators or pundits because I haven't heard one yet calling for the death of census workers, or even coming close to advocating anything other than the same kind of protests that the anti-war crowd engaged in. Sure, they associate with some types they'd better not if they want to be taken seriously, but I just can't say they have blood on their hands.

I liken it to blaming democrats for anti-military sentiment and violence at Army recruiting centers. People who are deranged and violent DO latch onto ideas and take them to terrible places.

Empire State Building turns red-yellow for China's 60th

(AFP) – 22 hours ago

NEW YORK — New York's iconic Empire State Building will light up red and yellow Wednesday in honor of the 60th anniversary of communist China.

The Chinese consul, Peng Keyu, and other officials will take part in the lighting ceremony which will bathe the skyscraper in the colors of the People's Republic until Thursday, Empire State Building representatives said in a statement.

The upper sections of the building are regularly illuminated to mark special occasions, ranging from all blue to mark "Old Blue Eyes" Frank Sinatra's death in 1998 to green for the annual Saint Patrick's Day.

Just last week the tower turned bright red.

Just wanted to say thanks for this post - I'm avoiding Dan Riehl, and thanks generally for documenting all the craziness on the Right recently. It's not a topic I like to look at - I don't agree with everything you post - but the right-wing blogosphere and Fox and a few other outlets don't seem to understand the concept of "basic human decency," and neither do many - if not all - of your detractors.

Part of me feels good that the right-wing blogosphere is getting taken down a notch: I thought they were exceptionally vicious to John McCain and a few other Republicans - not just having doubts or being shrill once in a while (I know I was shrill when it came to campaign-finance), but consistently looking to tear him down. And I really didn't like the self-satisfied gloating of a lot of bloggers, i.e. "if you had listened to us, you'd have won," as if governance is some easy task that ideology automatically solves. It's early before midterms, and well before 2012: if the craziness on the Right is beaten back now, there's a glimmer of hope that the crazies won't take over the Republican party entirely, that sensible, thoughtful people will find their nerve and we can begin more serious deliberation about things that matter.

I'm just gonna leave it at that until a new thread.

I'm late to this and doubt anyone will see this, but for what it's worth this is far from the first time Inspector Dan, Internets Detective, decided to put on his sleuth hat and speculate wildly, without knowing any of the people involved, having any access to the facts, and without regard for how it would hurt the surviving family.

Here's a nice little smear about Natalee Holloway, about whom he appeared to be obsessed (he has a whole tag for her. I don't know how many articles. I stopped when I hit the 22nd page, the 220th post about her.)

The psychology of Natalee Holloway is likely a somewhat troubled one. She appears to have worked incredibly hard to have measured up. And it's at least possible that some of those same forces caused her to go a bit too near the edge when she found herself unrestrained by the dominating influence of her Mother.

I personally believe that for all her good intentions to get answers in the disappearance of her lovely daughter, the Mother of Natalee Holloway likely has her own set of truths in this matter she'd just as soon not acknowledge, or have revealed. From a psychological perspective, it's at least possible to consider that her extraordinary efforts and the ability to cast unproven accusations time and time again is the way she has consciously or unconsciously chosen to deal with this tragedy without being forced to examine her relationship with her daughter and how those dynamics may have influenced events.

Shorter Dan Riehl: Natalee asked for it, and it's her mother's fault.

And then this, from the same post:

It seemed rather clear from the start that the family of Natalee Holloway, specifically her Mother, wanted nothing less than a hanging for the rape and murder of Natalee. That persistent, intensely angry approach early on would most likely have driven the boys to cover up even more from the start, even if it was an accidental death.

Had this happened in America, LE wouldn't have allowed the almost lynch mob-like mentality with which the boys were confronted from the start to have driven the investigation.

Shorter Dan Riehl: The problem isn't the possible rape and murder of a girl, and her certain disappearance and death...the problem is that her family were just so durn angry about it.

Tool.
