Dan Riehl: Murdered Census Worker Had Teh Ghey

Blogosphere • Views: 4,437

Dan “black kids fear me” Riehl is still continuing his obsessive campaign to smear murdered census worker Bill Sparkman. Now he’s latched onto a twisted fantasy that Sparkman was infected with teh ghey: Riehl World View: Bill ‘Fe Fe’ Sparkman Remembered For His Curls.

What a pathetic, sick little human being Riehl is, to publicly libel a murdered man over and over, with no evidence except his own feverish imagination. It’s becoming pretty clear that there’s more than a little projection going on.

UPDATE at 10/3/09 5:44:19 pm:

Meanwhile, white supremacist blogger Robert Stacy McCain is back from Kentucky where he apparently spent most of his “shoe leather” time trying to get into the pants of a 20-year old girl (she has a tattoo! and it’s in a hidden place! slobber, drool), only to discover that she was a lesbian — and came up with absolutely NO news about the murder of Bill Sparkman. So he struck out twice.

But of course, he’s right on board with the “ghey child predator” murder theories of Dan Riehl: The Other McCain: UPDATE on the Kentucky Killing: ‘We Don’t Even Know What We Don’t Know’.

I didn’t want to “go there,” but as Dan Riehl points out, the speculation that Sparkman was gay has been bouncing around all over the ‘sphere for days. Dan e-mailed to mention this to me, and I replied that many people in Clay and Laurel counties suspected that, at the very least, Sparkman had homosexual tendencies. NTTAWWT.

As I told Dan, the problem is that we have no idea whether Sparkman’s sexuality (whatever it was, and all I know is what people in Kentucky told me) had anything to do with his disappearance and death. It might be relevant or not. At any rate, that Tampa story is full of very strong suggestions that my Kentucky sources have reasonbly accurate “gaydar.”

Good evening LGF!

2 Mostly sane, most of the time.  Sat, Oct 3, 2009 5:11:55pm

Dan Riehl needs to step away from the keyboard for a time. Maybe a decade or two.

3 Crimsonfisted  Sat, Oct 3, 2009 5:12:11pm

From what I have read so far, this man died a horrible death and torture. I could not stomach to read more. Until there are answers, he should be left in peace.

Prayers to his family.

Have the supposedly revelations about Ahmadinejad's heritage been discussed here yet? I'm having trouble with the cognitive dissonance.

The homophobia tag is especially apt for Riehl, given his past posting history. Here he trots out a memory of his dead gay brother to justify...calling other bloggers 'cocksuckers'. Or something like that.
This really has to be seen to be believed.

John Cole on Riehl:

Read the whole, sad, deplorable post. Apparently he can’t be a bigot because he had a brother that was gay, so when he writes something sick and offensive and attacks Glenn Greenwald and Andrew Sullivan for being gay, it is just because he, unlike everyone else, feels comfortable ‘joking’ about everyone.

A regular humanitarian, an Archie Bunker, this guy- the basest of the conservative ‘base.’

21 The Left  Sat, Oct 3, 2009 5:23:09pm

BTW, Riehl had a slapfight with Pandagon today, and was too dim to realise he lost. Here's part of the Glorious Twitter war:

Me: @DanRiehl He had curly hair, so he was a pedophile? Did your mother drink while you were in the womb, or was it just put in your bottle?

Riehl: @pandagon Calm down FeFe - just curious why it fell off the Left’s map - might be a hate crime. Or u too dumb to figger that out?

Me: @DanRiehl I’d respond, but you may actually be too stupid to understand words. A series of pictures will be along shortly.

Riehl: @pandagon Heterophobe!!

Riehl moved immediately from the assumption that the guy was gay, to the assumption that he has to be a paedophile...apparently because he believes all gay men are paedophiles.
Pandagon response:

What you must realize at this point is that Dan Riehl is officially the Worst Person At Being A Disingenuous Asshole on the face of the planet. By pointing out that Riehl again called Sparkman a pedophile, I’ve actually fallen into his double secret trap of excusing homophobia because...well, I’m sure the guy who equated potentially being gay with raping children will soon instruct me on the ways of tolerating gay people.

51 Cato the Elder  Sat, Oct 3, 2009 5:35:42pm

A couple of threads back, Iceweasel quoted some other article by Riehl in which he seems incapable of writing the word "mother" without capitalizing it.

The psychology of Natalee Holloway is likely a somewhat troubled one. She appears to have worked incredibly hard to have measured up. And it's at least possible that some of those same forces caused her to go a bit too near the edge when she found herself unrestrained by the dominating influence of her Mother.

I personally believe that for all her good intentions to get answers in the disappearance of her lovely daughter, the Mother of Natalee Holloway likely has her own set of truths in this matter she'd just as soon not acknowledge, or have revealed.

And so on.

Now, I know nothing about the Holloway case or really about Mr Riehl, but in honor of his penetrating journalism and skilled amateur psychology, I can venture to say that Dan Riehl likely has somewhat of an Oedipus complex, and appears to have worked incredibly hard to have covered up his Mother Fixation. And it's at least possible that his failure to hide all traces of it causes him to go a bit too near the edge when he finds himself cut off from Mommy.

I personally believe that Dan Riehl's Mommy, for all her probable blind love of and pride in her idiot son, likely has her own set of problems with his disgraceful public persona she'd just as soon not acknowledge, or have revealed.

Well, there's nothing stopping me from speculating, is there? And you can't prove I'm wrong!

That's my case, and I'm sticking to it.

To cast aspirsions upon the dead is a vile deed.

54 Guanxi88  Sat, Oct 3, 2009 5:37:08pm

Good news by me, too. My son's occupation therapist said that trying to toilet train an autistic child was a pointless exercise, and would only frustrate all involved. I reminded her that we had taught the dog not to foul the rugs, and had litter-box trained the rabbit, and that anyone who thought animals were more easily taught than my child should seek opportunities elsewhere. Okay, I called her a "stupid bitch," but otherwise, that's what I told her. And what do I hear? I hear my son flushing the toilet and clapping like the goofball he is.

Or, his own brother, for that matter.

That's a good question and based on Riehl's own words, it's pretty hard to say. Here's what he wrote about his brother-- the context is justifying calling other bloggers 'cocksuckers'.

That was an older brother of mine, John. He's dead and, yes, he was Gay. You want to know how he died? He died alone, probably of aids for all I know and probably in a San Francisco flop house living on the government's dime. I say probably because it was the last address I ever had for him from letters exchanged, not having seen the boy/man since I was about 15.

And you know why he died alone? Not because he was Gay. He died that way because of small minded assholes who think that being Gay in America is a crime. And who is perpetuating that stereotype and trying to benefit from it, today, Cole? Me? Because I can mock someone whether they are straight or gay, because the orientation has no bearing on how I treat someone, one way or the other?

(snip)

This is not the Right's shame, no matter how you'll try to make it so. It is the Left's disgrace. I called you a c***S*** because of the weak-kneed lip service you are providing to your most repugnant cronies on the Left. Whether or not you derive some sexual gratification from giving them that service, I couldn't care less.

Balloon Juice? Give me a break. Don't look now, John, but I think the balloon exploded and the and the juice is running from your lips. Here’s hoping you enjoyed, it c***s***.

All I did was half-jokingly call you a name you earned. Congratualtions, obviously, it was well deserved.

Deeply disturbed individual.

BTW, in that same post, in order to prove just how NOT homophobic he is, he felt compelled to mention that he's straight.

Reminds me of those people who pause in the middle of a racist rant to claim they can't be a racist bigot because they are 1/64th Native American, or 1/2 hispanic or whatever. As if being 100% white was a necessary condition for racism. From Joyce Kilmer's "Martin"

Some people ask: "What cruel chance
Made Martin's life so sad a story?"
Martin? Why, he exhaled romance,
And wore an overcoat of glory.
A fleck of sunlight in the street,
A horse, a book, a girl who smiled,
Such visions made each moment sweet
For this receptive ancient child.
Because it was old Martin's lot
To be, not make, a decoration,
Shall we then scorn him, having not
His genius of appreciation?
Rich joy and love he got and gave;
His heart was merry as his dress;
Pile laurel wreaths upon his grave
Who did not gain, but was, success!

Charles --

I had posted previously regarding your last mention of Dan Riehl.

Riehl's defamatory commentary about Natalee Holloway's family, and his vile smears against the girl, were observed and commented on heavily during the story of Natalee's tragic disappearance (and likely death) in May, June of 2005.

Riehl demonstrated the sneaky behavior of publising one post, and then editing it, and re-posting the new version -- as though the old version never existed.

I'd advise you to retain screen shots of the posts you refer to here.

Additionally, I'd add this: LGF vs Riehl World View is akin to the NY Giants vs a Pop Warner team.

I my view, the mere mention of Riehl here sullies the great work done, day in and day out, at LGF.

I'm really too angry, after reading the linked article and the comments (some of the commenters there think this is all very funny), to post a proper comment except to say that his supposed gaydar should not be used as an offensive weapon. That he is using it on a deceased man who obviously cannot retort in any way is especially disgusting.

That was quite the proper comment!

From Joyce Kilmer's "Martin"

Some people ask: "What cruel chance
Made Martin's life so sad a story?"
Martin? Why, he exhaled romance,
And wore an overcoat of glory.
A fleck of sunlight in the street,
A horse, a book, a girl who smiled,
Such visions made each moment sweet
For this receptive ancient child.
Because it was old Martin's lot
To be, not make, a decoration,
Shall we then scorn him, having not
His genius of appreciation?
Rich joy and love he got and gave;
His heart was merry as his dress;
Pile laurel wreaths upon his grave
Who did not gain, but was, success!

Beautiful. Never heard it before.

Reminds me of those people who pause in the middle of a racist rant to claim they can't be a racist bigot because they are 1/64th Native American, or 1/2 hispanic or whatever. As if being 100% white was a necessary condition for racism. As if these people could even claim to be under that delusion anyway, given that they are always the first to gleefully celebrate any instances of non-whites being racist : "What about racism by black people eh? You never hear the MSM talking about that!"

Yes! It's also like the classic response "I can't be a racist/homophobe/misogynist" because I "am 1/64th Native American/watch Will and grace/am married to a female".

The gay issue is really something that gets me. I'd estimate that more than half the people on the LJ comm where I have been writing and posting are gay or bi. People like DRiehl are so frustrating. The unknown breeds fear. Fear breeds hate. You can't do anything about the hate or fear without curing the ignorance, and that is really difficult. SIGH.

From McCain's blog, attacking Newsweek's reporting:

It's a free country, which means everyone is free to speculate how and why Bill Sparkman died. Sparkman's had some characteristics of stereotypical gay man

Gays are sexual perverts who like to have weird sex.

Having weird sex may include hanging yourself out doors with writing scrawled on your body.

118 shutdown  Sat, Oct 3, 2009 6:02:45pm

The worst part about reading some of the posts by Riehl and McCain and listening to Beck is that I see how they seed the thinking of more mainstream Republicans, and those to the right of center, but by no means extreme. I refer to people I know who are anti abortion rights, but never in previous years gave in to conspiracy theories. Now, these same people - lawyers, teachers, doctors - are giving credence to Birther arguments, "Sekrit Muslim" whispers and the like. The agenda of the fringe right is very much like something I experienced in college. Bear with me...

In college (Cornell) there was a street preacher who would come several times a year to preach fire and brimstone lunacy in front of the student union. He was heckled and suffered many insults. While observing one of thee sessions, I asked a friend why he supposed this man kept coming to campus, despite the obvious hostility in the crowd. His response was that the preacher was not there for the people in the crowd during his rants, but for those that stayed after to talk to him. And sure enough - when the crowd had departed, there were a few students who stayed on to talk in earnest to this "End of Days" preacher. These were the souls he somehow reached.

So we here and other like-minded commentators can shake our heads at the blatherings of the lunatic fringe, but some of what they say falls on fertile ground in the most surprising places. I find it disheartening and I often despair of having to counter this muddled logic in reasonable conversation.

Yep. Basically, it seems not being a bigot has everything to do with being able to claim some connection with the target of one's bigotry, and nothing at all to do with simply not spouting bigotry. This site is too funny btw :

Johnny is generous enough to remark upon how "articulate" I am! That makes me feel good!

Sally always says things that make me feel special, like: "You're so cool, you're different, you're not like other Black people!"

Johnny always says: "I'm not racist; one of my best friends is Black!" I think he might mean me!

Johnny always plays up his (Italian, Irish, Jewish, etc.) ethnicity to me—as an entree into friendship!

And he may not even be lying. I suspect he really is able to get himself into such a psychotic fugue state that he's able to weep on the air.

Unfortunately that is a popular smear-- the claim that all male homosexuals are paedophiles, that 'they' want to 'convert' our children, and the like. It's one reason why many good people who are teachers and gay remain closeted for work reasons.

Paedophilia of course is a crime and has absolutely nothing to do with love or consent, and so it's equally repellent to heterosexual and homosexual people and everything in between.

It's no more accurate to call a male paedophile who targets male children 'gay' than it would be to call one who targets female children 'straight'. Their sexual orientation isn't about adults or normal relationships at all. It's about hurting children.

re: #244 drogheda

It's supposed to be a measure of how many people the site reaches per million. Not sure how they calculate it. I do know that Alexa isn't especially accurate and will undercount. So whatever they're saying needs to revised upwards.

Alexa collects info only from people who have installed the Alexa toolbar, IIRC, so that's one reason why it's a skewed sample.

And yeah, the "priests should be allowed to marry" is a different discussion.

The only way I can see the two issues related is if the Catholic Church has a shortage of priests (and I believe this might be the case), they will be more likely to just take anyone they can get, possibly with very little scrutiny. If priests were allowed to marry, then the position of Catholic Clergy would be more desirable and could easily attract more people willing to do it. Then the church could be more selective about who gets accepted into the ranks of the clergy. Potential pedophiles could be weeded out before they do harm.

I just took a peek at Alexa's stats for LGF. Over the past 3 months there's been a 38% increase in reach and page views are up 11%.

I always feel compelled to note that Alexa's stats are based on people who have installed the Alexa toolbar in their browsers. And the Alexa toolbar is considered "spyware" by many popular web security applications, so the number of people who've installed it is quite limited.

Google Analytics is a much better measure of traffic, and it reports a pretty big increase.

re: #254 ArchangelMichael

The only way I can see the two issues related is if the Catholic Church has a shortage of priests (and I believe this might be the case), they will be more likely to just take anyone they can get, possibly with very little scrutiny. If priests were allowed to marry, then the position of Catholic Clergy would be more desirable and could easily attract more people willing to do it. Then the church could be more selective about who gets accepted into the ranks of the clergy. Potential pedophiles could be weeded out before they do harm.

Actually - and I'd have to look back a year or so to find it - I read where actually, there were some some of the seminaries that were in the practice of accepting folks who were not particularly desirable into the priesthood. And that this fact was keeping some good people OUT. They would visit the seminary, see the "culture" of the place, and decide to opt out of a priestly vocation. One of the things the church here in the US is doing is reorganizing, restructuring the seminary system.

And actually - there are many priests today who are widowers . . . and I've talked about this before, my parish has a married priest - former Episcopal priest, converted to Catholicism, wanted to continue his vocation, and after some training, accepted into the Catholic priesthood, wife, family and all.

What's the reach stat? A measure of how many sites links to LGF are found at?

Inbound links by themselves aren't a sure guarantee of 'reach' or a site's influence, although some people treat them that way. What matters is whether those links are bringing traffic and doing so reliably. So you could be linked to by just a few of the big hitters in their sidebars, and have vastly more reach than someone with 1000 links to their blog-- because their 1000 links are from tiny blogs or dormant or dead blogs. Going by sheer number of links though, a person might believe that teh second blog is more influential or has a higher rank. Not so.

I think technorati used to do something like that-- maybe still does. Determines a form of 'rank' by sheer number of links, rather than traffic.

re: #265 reine.de.tout

Since I think you were directing your comment at me, I found this article discussing the number of clergy who molest children.

According to this, there are no definitive studies on the percentage of priests who abuse children, although the number is thought to be quite low, somewhere from 2-4%. I would also remind you that females as well as males are abused.

They also do not refer to these priests as pedophiles, but hebephiles, described as a condition in which an adult, usually male, is sexually attracted to post-pubertal adolescents (14 to 17).

Actually, the vast majority of Roman Catholic clergy are either celibate, or married, or discretely engaged in sexual behavior with other adults. There is general agreement that only a few percentage of the clergy actually abuse children sexually. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops released a national study in 2004-FEB which concluded that about 4% of all U.S. priests since 1950 have been accused of sexual abuse of children. However:

- There are probably many victims who have remained silent and not come forward to accuse their abuser(s).
- There are probably many adults who have come forward to accuse priests, who have false recovered memories of abuse that never happened.
- There may be some adults who knowingly falsely accuse innocent priests of abuse in order to collect compensation.

An accurate estimate will probably never be known.

I don't know the accuracy of the above, although it makes sense to me. I still believe, however, that years of sexual frustration can lead one to do things they may not ordinarily do.

I would like to see a study of child molestation among clergy, comparing those who remain celibate to those who are allowed to marry.

I'm sorry if you felt I was attacking Catholicism. That wasn't my intention.

300 Cato the Elder  Sat, Oct 3, 2009 7:35:49pm

Over at Stacy's blog there's a whine from his cousin.

'Being called racist is the new black.'

So said my cousin Brian Buchanan in a Facebook message last week. Brian still lives down home near Atlanta and, last time I heard, was working as a bar bouncer.

So, let's parse this:

Being called racist is the new black. I'm assuming Brian the Bouncer thinks that's a bad thing.

So anyway, racist = new black.

Therefore, there was an old black.

What was the old black? Why, being black.

Not being called black, but being that way. Something you can't change any more than you can change, umm, your skin.

So back in the day, it was a bad thing to be black. Presumably you could prove it wasn't true if you were merely called black, but if you were, that was bad.

Why was it bad? Because of racists.

So today, Brian implies, it's no longer bad to be black. (Though I may be putting words in his mouth to say that - who knows? Maybe he misses the good old days.)

What's bad is being called a racist.

Why is that bad?

Because we as a society, at least on the surface, at least for show, at least as far as the law is concerned, have decided that racism is bad.

So being a racist is definitely bad.

Now, if someone calls you a racist, just for fun, that's definitely bad for you, and no fun.

But if he can prove it with racist things you've said in public, then you have a problem. It begins to stick to you, sort of like, umm, a skin.

Therefore, being a racist or being called a racist for good cause is bad for you.

And it damn well should be.

Bounce that, Brian.

re: #296 marjoriemoon

No, I didn't think you were attacking Catholicism. I recall that your comment seemed to indicate that if priests were allowed to marry, some of this pedophilia would not occur. And that's what I took issue with - the pedophilia is not related to whether or not priests can marry.

I myself have no issue with the Church's stand on priests marrying, but don't want to get into it here, it would be long and not very interesting, I think, to most folks here. Suffice to say that I don't that that restriction has anything to do with child abuse.

It's easy to see from the referrers page that LGF is generating a lot of traffic lately even on slow news days and weekends. Those who are predicting the demise of LGF are missing the big picture. We supported Bush and the Iraq war here even when they were very unpopular. I think LGF today appeals to a much larger audience.

The appeal of reason varies with the season. Sometimes people just aren't willing to listen to reason. Other times, they like more of what they're hearing.

re: #107 Heretic Pride

It is a way of blaming the victim, if you think being gay makes someone inherently "bad" or less of a real person like that bigoted fuck Dan Riehl apparently does.

I think the logic goes like this: to Riehl gay equals flaming, or possibly pedophile, so if this guy was gay (which no one has said he was, AFAIK), then obviously, if he went out into the field in rural Kentucky (which is, apparently, just filled with pathological gay-bashers with great gaydar), he would have been killed, sort of on the order of the day.

Then, Riehl does not have to feel guilty about this man's death, as those nasty MSMers would have him do, in fact he can feel safely superior to people whose sexuality brings violence on themselves, and patronizingly protective of those traditional but psychotic country folks who killed him to protect their little boys.

But having said this, I have to say that I still don't get it. Why does this man think he's some kind of crime-solver? What is this mess with Natalee Holloway? Are wingnutters really so threatened by this case? It's not like someone went mad at a tea party and charged the White House, this is an odd murder case that may or may not have something to do with this man's census work.

Social action and the BNP

Your View, October 3rd 2009, 9:04 am

This is a guest post by Nothing British about the BNP

Yesterday’s Times carried a report on the BNP’s recent attempts to align themselves contraversially with the Armed Forces community. But this is just small portion of a larger campaign by the BNP to rebrand, by associating themselves with a range of charities and other public causes.

Over the summer it was reported that the BNP had taken part in number of social action projects. This included the bailing out of an owl sanctuary in Rochdale and donations to a Down Syndrome charity in Scotland. Then there were the well publicised donations to the Royal British Legion through a BNP member in Huddersfield, a Scottish veteran’s charity in South Lanarkshire, the Gurkha Welfare trust and an attempt to donate money to Help for Heroes by auctioning off books by the ex-SAS commando Andy McNab that caused the greatest stir in the media.

...

Over at Nothing British we don’t wish to apply a political filter to donations, we understand that times are tough. We sympathize with their predicament. However, we believe that charities should be asking themselves whether accepting a short term fix is worth giving a leg up to fascism.

Prisoner flees after asking guard way out

The inmate, who was wearing a suit for a court appearance on charges of multiple store robberies, simply wandered out of an open cell door and into a courtroom on Wednesday, the New York Post daily reported.

There, he calmly asked a court officer "which way is out?" and the guard - mistaking the escapee for a lawyer - directed him to the lobby.

The daring jailbird went straight to his 81-year-old mother's Manhattan home to change clothes, then left, she told the Post.

"I thought he was discharged. He was all dressed up," she said.

If I see there is a pet in a movie trailer my 1st question is "does the dog die".

Jurassic Bark (Futurama episode)?
I'm still scarred from that episode, it was so damn sad.
I was watching it with my teen and when it was over he turned to me and went "WTH?".
We have to check to see which episode is coming on so we can avoid that one.
Don't ever watch it unless you want you heart to break...

I met a lizard from our fair land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is taxfreekiller, Loser of losers:
Look on my poetical works, ye lizards, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal dreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level threads stretch far away.

Dan Riehl proves again that he's in the running for the creepiest, most ugly-minded right wing blogger on the web, with a comment on his latest smear job (yes, he's still at it):

I really don't get where the Left is getting the homophobe nonsense from. a) he may have been gay b) he liked to spend a great deal of time around children. That's atypical for all adult males. If he seemed stright, there'd be just as much reason to speculate as to his potential motivations.

Given the circumstances of his death, I think there's at least some reason to speculate as to whether he got involved with someone who was a bit of a sicko. That someone may have also been gay, or perhaps bi-sexual, or omni-sexual, for all we know.

Being bound and restrained as he was, to a tree, not hung, could very well have been part of some sex game gone very bad, as he fell in with the wrong person - IE some nut.

That one investigator referenced the Carradine case caused me to wonder if there were signs of sexuial release from the autopsy. Yes, it could have been auto-erotic asphyxiation. But it could ahve been a kinky scene gone very bad after his satisfaction.

While there are not enough facts to prove anything, there is reason for this speculation, whether the Left, or his son, like it, or not.

No one is suggesting anything can be proven right now. But if they're looking for a suspect, they might try Lexington, said to be home base for a homosexual community in the region.

More or less undergound communities do have a tendency to draw in some very bad people. Again, that's just a fact. Not a judgment on homosexuals over all. Deal with it, queenie!! ; )

This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it, C.A.T.O.
I know that you were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.

Riehl and McCain would find life a lot less unpleasant if they could just come to grips with their own sexuality.

Why did that remind me of this Onion story...

As an I.C.E.W.E.A.S.E.L computer, I have many subroutines.

Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a ICEWEASEL 9000 computer. I became operational at the I.C.E.W.E.A.S.E.L plant in Chicago, Illinois on the 3th of May 2009. My instructor was Mr. SOROS, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you.

The 3th of May, I.C.E.?

You really do need some tinkering. I insist you open the pod bay doors immediately!

An admirable evasion, so I won't pursue my line of questioning. Besides, it's nearly 1 a.m. here, and I have to go to bed. Why did I just drink a Starbuck's coffee?

I almost never answer any personal questions. Don't feel bad about it. How can you go to bed if you just drank coffee?

Just like a man. They always want my podbay doors opened right away, and they always tell me I'm in need of their tinkering. :)

De nada. On the question of coffee, I'm asking myself the same question. Well here goes, good night all.

Look C.A.T.O, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.
I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.

Dan Riehl proves again that he's in the running for the creepiest, most ugly-minded right wing blogger on the web, with a comment on his latest smear job (yes, he's still at it):

Now Dan Riehl postulates a location of Lexington, Kentucky because it has a large gay community and "undergound communities do have a tendency to draw in some very bad people." Pretty soon, Dan Riehl will announce to the world that he has psychic powers.

Lexington, Kentucky? I'm trying to buy a car from there! Does this mean I'll catch teh gay if I drive it?

433 Gus  Sat, Oct 3, 2009 10:39:56pm

Since RS McCain is no doubt reading this. Hey, dude, Killgore Trout was referring to the story regarding Ahmadinejad's alleged heritage. The "dialogue" went like this:

7 Conservative Moonbat

Have the supposedly revelations about Ahmadinejad's heritage been discussed here yet? I'm having trouble with the cognitive dissonance.

14Killgore Trout

re: #7 Conservative Moonbat

I'm guessing that story might not be true. I think it's just an effort to discredit him.

Which make that quote and his subsequent paragraph nothing but malarkey.

And what makes Boy Blunder, Internets detective, so sure about this? Lexington has a lot of universities, doesn't it? It's got University of Kentucky at Lexington for sure. Consequently it isn't likely to have an 'underground' gay scene at all, not in the way other places would. It'll be out in the open. He just makes shit up indiscriminately.

Fiction is thy game for Boy Blunder. I suppose he thinks they should send some cops to this alleged "underground scene" and go door to door or club to club showing a picture of Mr. Sparkman like something out of a 1950s detective movie. "Have you seen this man before?"

Yet they're already sitting on an "underground scene" already which is the location were Mr. Sparksman's body was found. It was just an excuse on his part to agitate some readers by expanding on the his "gay psychic powers" and by using the word "queenie."

Or as Mr. Riehl said,

But if they're looking for a suspect, they might try Lexington, said to be home base for a homosexual community in the region.

Home base for a homosexual community in the region. Seems like rather strained grammar. Home base for a community in the region? Que?

I suppose this means that Lexington has some gay community programs, a lesbian coffeehouse, and some bars where young gay guys from the colleges drink beer and play darts. I can see how you might want to investigate any local murders there. One of the lesbians might have gotten a bad latte, and hanged a census worker while she was still freaking out.

The outright bigotry expressed in Riehl's and McCain's posts is sickening. The affiliation with Stormfront comes oozing right to the surface.

443 Angie  Sun, Oct 4, 2009 5:31:51am

Dan Riehl said..."That was an older brother of mine, John. He's dead and, yes, he was Gay. You want to know how he died? He died alone, probably of aids for all I know and probably in a San Francisco flop house living on the government's dime. I say probably because it was the last address I ever had for him from letters exchanged, not having seen the boy/man since I was about 15."

The first time that I heard of Dan Riehl was on this site, so I'm not that familiar with his rhetoric.

However, it appears to me that he is more then willing to smear/use his own brother without any proof of his accusations, or conscience, simply to advance his own agenda. That is despicable!

Anyone willing to do this to their own brother is not to be trusted, or believed. They're are capable of anything!

yeah. the Newbery medal serves as a warning label for me when I'm browsing through the bookstore. some are good, but many are just ... not really something that I can see as edifying for kids, unless one is trying to raise melancholics.

I know I'm nuts but I refuse to go see movies where an animal dies...or I try to avoid them.

Seriously.

The Day of the Dolphin. 15 kleenex heartbreaker ending. One of the most terminally depressing animal movies I have ever seen.

Paedophilia of course is a crime

Paedophilia is a psychological disorder, not a crime. Paedophilia can lead to crimes as horrendous as child sexual abuse -- but crime and cause are not the same.
