The Shrieking Harpy Shrieks Again

Blogosphere • Views: 7,346

Cover your ears, dear readers, because the shrieking harpy is shrieking again!

Newsmax contributor Pamela Geller’s latest illiterate rant accuses me of “demonizing the free men fighting the scourge of Jew hate, muhammadanism, sharia law and Islamic supremacism” (whew, that’s a mouthful).

(Here are some more pictures of these courageous “free men” of the English Defense League, as they fight the scourges.)

The shrieking harpy’s rant includes a bonus inept Photoshop of yours truly, with Obama logos all over my clothes and Joker face paint, because we all know that the best way to convince people you’re right is to deface a picture of your enemy. Or should I say, “enemy plant?”

The enemy plant is up to his stupid pet tricks: Pamela Geller Praises English Defense League, Posts Photo of Nazi Salutes You have to wonder how much they are paying him.

If you have to ask how much “they” are paying, shrieking harpy, you can’t afford it.

But wait, there’s more, because Pammy may have been hitting the bottle again.

This insanity is not new. Just last month, toddlers were American toddlers were Nazis!

Run that one that one by me by me again? Is there an echo an echo in here here?

Meanwhile, the shrieking harpy’s latest post contains a video uploaded to YouTube by … wait for it … a supporter of the British National Party, the group of neo-Nazis that Pammy herself called “racist” in that very same post.

It’s almost too easy.

It's not sporting to slug it out with a staggeringly over-classed opponent. Personally, I blame her manager - any competent person in her corner would have thrown in the towel for her ages ago.

Charles mentioned that the American Family association might react to the repeal of the don't ask, don't tell policy. Here's there take:

"by Bryan Fischer, AFA Director of Issue Analysis

Judge Robert Bork wrote a book a number of years ago in which he described an America that was "slouching towards Gomorrah." Well, you can forget the slouching part. We are now running pell-mell, headlong toward Gomorrah, racing into the moral abyss at breakneck speed.

We are no longer on some kind of slippery slope. The United States is going over a moral Niagara in a flimsy barrel.

Pres. Barack Obama last night told cheering throngs of homosexual activists that he is determined to change the law that declares that homosexuality is incompatible with military service. He also pledged to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act, the only thing that stands between civilization and darkness when it comes to the definition of marriage. If DOMA is repealed, it is a certainty that some federal court somewhere will compel all 50 states to perform homosexual weddings, regardless of what their own state constitutions say.

With the hate crimes bill virtually certain to be the law of the land by this time next week, and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act gathering steam, it is possible that all four major objectives of homosexualists will be accomplished in the United States by this time next year. The rewriting of America's moral code on matters of sexuality will be complete.

Family law will be turned into something unrecognizable if DOMA is repealed, and the homosexual agenda will invade the military if DADT is repealed, and the homosexual agenda will invade the workplace if ENDA is passed.

The hate crimes law means that it will be a criminal offense to think politically incorrect thoughts about homosexual behavior, transgenderism, and a host of other sexually non-normative orientations. People who engage in normative sexual expression will now have less legal protection than cross-dressers, pedophiles, prostitutes and voyeurs.

Our schools, under the influence of Kevin Jennings, an avowed homosexual who sees nothing wrong with adult males preying on teenage boys, will become indoctrination centers in homosexual dogma.

Homosexuality will become the favored sexual orientation in our country in all segments of society, and perversion will be granted special protections in the military and the workplace that are denied to heterosexuals and people of faith. No disagreement will be allowed; in fact, it will be punishable by fines, incarceration or worse.

Dissent will no longer by the highest form of patriotism. It will instead by the quickest path to getting fired, sued or jailed. Welcome to fascist America.

If there was ever a time for conservatives to stand athwart history and yell "Stop!", the time is now."

This is competely OT, but apparently the maker of the Jesus & select americans painting has posted some clarifications over at his site, which includes:

Each figure including Christ represents a symbol. Everything about the painting is symbolic. I don't pretend to know what Christ looks like. As I stated in my interview, I wanted to create an image that would instantly be recognizable as Jesus. I am not painting an anthropological Jesus. Nobody would recognize him if I painted him that way.

Yes, it's symbolic that Jesus is a white male with classical greek attributes, and no normal Christian can be counted on to recognize a more "anthropological" depiction of their saviour.

Bonus:

Yes, I have read the book and yes I do believe in many of the theories it espouses. [snip] I believe that this book is a standard that the left uses to push Christianity out of the Educational Forum. I believe that we need faith in our schools. I believe that I did not evolve from an ape.

Yeah. You read that book alright. At least the introduction to the Ray "Banana" Comfort version.

I remember a time when to be a journalist, commentator, or pundit, especially in a written form such as for a magazine, newspaper, or a blog required mastery of a language and the ability to actually write. This position of mine is apparently a quaint holdover from days of yore.

The typos that show up on some of these sites are beyond embarrassing. Even if I didn't know anything about her, if I stumbled on the site through a search I wouldn't be able to take it serious just because of that. Having typos in the subject or headlines is totally inexcusable. Far worse than the NYT referring to the "Large Hardon Collider" mid article.

Making typos doesn't make you stupid. Failing to proofread things that are intended for mass public consumption does.

85 Almost Killed by Space Hookers  Mon, Oct 12, 2009 6:54:37pm

Alas it is time to post some more secrets of Remulak...

One time agent Geller, who was actually rather attractive before the ravages of alcohol, was being wooed by a junior overlord.

The junior overlord, alas fresh from Yeshiva, and while fully versed in the theory of saucer operation and human handling techniques, was not really ready for the practical applications of all his new responsibilities. Like many a butter bar before him, he did not listen to the sage advice of his NCO.

His NCO an overlord, non-com with just shy of 200 years of service experience looked at him and said, "Sir, she is batshit crazy, if you expand her horizons too much with the probulator, we'll have tremendous backlash or I'm not circumcised. It will be just like what happened with Anne Heche only this one has a mean streak"

Of course, the junior overlord did not listen. He believed that she had great potential and that by expanding her mind with deep knowledge about the universe would make her into a deep and rational voice for action that would be intellectually unassailable.

After numerous ill-advised probulations, Geller began to exhibit classic signs of anger, paranoid delusion and schizophrenic response. Now she knew full well that she was being turned into the agent of Zionist Overlords who flew in flying saucers. This created a certain love hate dichotomy in her fractured psyche.

Her only defense mechanism was to ally with Euro Nazi scum. Here were big dumb hateful men that she could always feel superior to. They appealed to her angry and violent side. Most importantly, they did not see discussing the intricacies of 11 dimension space folding as a form of foreplay.

Then the alcoholism kicked in. It's all tragic really.

However, once again, she fits in well with the over all plans of Remulak, by discrediting the far right.

Thousands of years ago, before the dawn of man as we knew him... there was Sir Santa of Claus: an ape-like creature making crude and pointless toys out of dino-bones and his own waste, hurling them at chimp-like creatures with crinkled hands regardless of how they behaved the previous year. These so-called "toys" were buried as witches and defecated upon and hurled at predators who were awoken by the searing grunts of children. It wasn't a holly jolly Christmas that year; for many were killed!

A war-like race of elves from the Red Planet landed on the ice-encased Earth and they were immediately enslaved by the unevolved Santa Ape to make his confused toys using galactic elfin technology. Toys were made into recognizable shapes and given names like "train," but these toys were also thrown at predators and defecated upon because they were so stupid. Christmas still sucked, in a big way.

True. Heath Ledger's Joker was a cinematic triumph, but people read too much into the character. Especially vis-a-vis Barack Obama. Actually no, not really.

If I may wax serious. A lot of those people really are responding in creepy classic ways associated with a jilted lover. For a time they felt that they had a community here and that their more hateful and crazy views would be carried. They felt that they would be applauded for hateful or simply false and crazy screeds.

They were always a little susceptible to the batshit, but they felt they had a home and a community of people who were equally batshit and that they would be praised by being shining examples of batshit.

But, this site has never done well with idiocy. As the more paranoid and hateful delusions of the right began to manifest, this site kept a more level head. These people felt betrayed. Now, of course they weren't, they were simply given the truth about a lot of things. However, this psychology isn't about the truth. It is about fear and hatred and it is also about being accepted for having fear and hatred.

Like I said before, scratch any racist or extreme ideologue - particularly negative ideologues - and you will find weak betas grouping together for mutual support.

When they discovered that a site they felt they were a major part of was not going to support their foolishness and in fact question and debunk it. In their minds, it was like having a girl not only tell them no, but also tell them why they were unsuitable.

Of course she would never turn you down because you were a creep or because you did anything wrong... Nope it must be her fault.

Not to place Charles as female, but the flouncing and plotting and obsession are exactly like what one would expect from some loser boy who was rejected and willing to do anything for attention - while simultaneously wanting to prove how right he is and how wrong she is. Pretty much. If you take into account the rather rabid misogyny and violence fantasy on that site it fits well with the pattern. These are classic over-compensation responses.

Or at least it looks that way to me. I am after all a physicist and not a psychologist, but I've also seen enough nonsense in my time and had enough female friends tell me of their experiences with this sort, to ring certain bells.

I mean why all the I'm so manly because I have guns stuff, or the I'm so manly because I hate this or that group stuff. In their little fantasies, they are all Rambo. This is not to say that all gun owners are like that or that or that there aren't groups of bad guys out there that we need to fight. This is to say that they are living in a web induced fantasy of their own importance. They mutually reinforce each other's importance about it and they lick each other's wounds of feeling unjustly persecuted.

Another subset of this are all the religious nuts who were pissed that this site is pro-science. Their fantasy is not so much Rambo, but rather some poor suffering Christian fed to lions.

In the end we are dealing with folks whose own lives are so desolate of meaning that they have defined themselves in terms of having their views reinforced by a web community.

Again, since they can not, in their own minds possibly be at fault, all of that anger and feeling of inadequacy has to be projected elsewhere. Now consider how much this fits in with the GOP and far right meme of "you are losing America!" and the pattern is complete.

Shouldn't the reasons for bannings/departures have more to do with deep-seated ideological differences than with infantile obsessions?
Surely this site has been and is primarily about politics...or am I just hopelessly clueless and naive about what's really going on here?

The bannings that I'm aware of tend to be about behavior.

Oh, my God. That's horrible.

Yeah, as one who's got some tinge of that in the family, it's depressing (also in the family) to have to deal with a world where the mentally ill can have their delusions reinforced and confirmed by total strangers from around the world. This kind of thing is like giving a "cutter" access to a box of razor blades and a private place to use them.

It sickens me to no end, but I can see no way to put an end to it without seriously totalitarian measures, which would be illegal.

But yeah, their paranoid belief system is reinforced by outside evidence of others experiencing the same thing. So many people who never met each other, all reporting the same type of thing, there must be something to it after all. This is precisely the way the mind works in most cases, and for a paranoid schizophrenic, even more so.

So everyone who was here before now was batshit?

No not at all. Rather, there were some that were always a little batshit, but the topics discussed didn't fully bring it out of them. When we hit those points that did bring it out, it came out.

Some were always batshit. There is no way that disgusting creatures like the rodent were ever sane. Charles also used to be a lot more tolerant of people being nuts.

However, Charles was always on the side of what is true and distinguishing that from BS. With the Dan Rather expose and Charles staunch anti-terrorist views, he was seen as a fellow traveler.

When it became clear that he was not and never was, by then the crazies who had been here felt betrayed and the cycle that I am talking about kicked in.

Think about it. There are still some really hard right people here.

Dark Falcon, for instance and I have gone at it full bore more than once, yet, he has my full respect. There are many others like that. Being conservative does not make someone crazy. Being a paranoid, science denying bircher who is filled with hateful racism does though.

I do think they believe it. There's too much genuine effort put into it to be anything but a genuine expression of their beliefs. As I mentioned earlier, one of my mother's sisters pointed these out to me, as part of an ongoing discussion we've had about things she (her word) "notices" that make her suspect that something is going on just beneath the surface of things. Why it's happening, she doesn't know, and she admits to being baffled as to why total strangers would seem to go out of their way to victimize her in a million pointless, petty ways. She thinks this provides some explanation of it, and I've been attempting to persuade her otherwise.

Yeah, Dred Scott upheld chattel slavery. You'd figure that kind of evil would be worth a nod.

Roe is there, it's the lower one by his knee. I can kind of understand the artist putting Roe and Brown in there. Legal abortion and the separation of church and state are large factors for the religious right. But Marbury v. Madison is almost as foundational as the constitution itself. Essentially, it defined the role of the supreme court, and is essential to the system of checks and balances. That's throwing away 200 years of precedent. What role does the judiciary play in the opinion of the author of this work?

Well, all one can do is to try. She's still struggling with the realization that the way she thinks about things is slightly off-kilter versus the way most other people (people she knows and respects) think, so she's not too far gone. She admits that she might be mistaken (the fact she goes searching for evidence is both encouraging and troubling - that she searches shows she's capable of ratiocination in spite of underlying challenges; that she comes up with stuff like this and doesn't immediately discard it shows she's susceptible to reinforcement), and is interested to talk about it with me, and I'm pleased to oblige her; family obligations and all. The moment she attempts to persuade me that the multi-stalker theory is true and valid in her own case is the moment before I attempt to get the family to intervene to help protect her.

Seriously though, LGF is the only place I post at regularly. I simply am too busy otherwise and I spend more time here than sometimes I should.

That said, I was not really aware of just how crazy the crazy was until I looked at it in some other places. It is an interesting phenomena for me.
Not everyone who looses interest here is a bad person or crazy. That is not my claim.

However the stuff that really is crazy is fascinating.

For instance, there are some people, like the former EarthtoMoonbat, who feel compelled to respond to almost everything I write with a sort of fervid lunacy. It is not that I am intimidated or anything like that, but seeing that level of hatred and distortion of my words directed at me, is of course, a source of interest.

Perhaps that is vain.

But it is also legitimately a curious phenomena and honestly I do not bear nearly the invective that others do.

I could show you some new AGW stuff if you like...

Seriously though, LGF is the only place I post at regularly. I simply am too busy otherwise and I spend more time here than sometimes I should.

But it is also legitimately a curious phenomena and honestly I do not bear nearly the invective that others do.

LVQ-

I have found that anyone posting verifiable facts invites invective because it causes True Believers to do a little work, discover they are misguided, and come face to face with the possibility that they (and thus their worldview) might be wrong.

Rather than admit they've been duped by their propagandists, they tend to blog vomit.

Hang in there, my man. Science wins every time, unless you get burned at the stake.

How do you know all this?

Most of the information about Odom's odious operation became public knowledge because of Martinez's lack of self esteem and need to brag about his trivial accomplishments.
As far as knowing about things ending badly for Martinez, I was the one that arranged for it to happen. My hobby used to be playing whack-a-troll and I carried a 12 pound mallet.

I don't know, I think Mephesto seems like a reasonably moderate guy, and could support the current Republican running for that seat in New York.

Science and Islam: A model for framing vs. popular science

I think many American consumers of of this discourse … from Islamic science to Framing and Science Education … often fail to realize that Christianity is not the problem in the US. Well, it can be a problem, but it is not the problem. The problem is fundamentalism. Virtually by definition, fundamentalism requires that all things human serve god and devotion to god. Thus, science is a legitimate pursuit only to the extent that this can happen. Science for science’s sake is at best a hobby, and science that produces any results that conflicts with religious dogma (such as evolution) or that requires practices not allowed by the religious doctrine (such as making a drawing of a living thing) is heretical.

The difference between a Christian Fundamentalist and a Muslim Fundamentalist is the difference between the eagle and the osprey. The eagle and the osprey cannot abide each other’s existence. But if you are the fish, you are nothing more than bird food.

Don't you worry buddy... I am not about to give up on anything. However, I was saying that I do find it a truly fascinating phenomena.

There is also the fact that, I rather like a lot of the people here and and at the risk of sounding obsequious, Charles.

Seeing them attacked with such intense lunacy has caused me to take some interest.

There is of course one other very important point. It's a much larger point. This is still a very important blog. It has a lot of credibility for not being completely left wing. So, when this place broke ranks with the psychoticsphere, it carried a lot of weight. In some sense, the virulence of the attacks, particularly from the more established pundits, is a sign of how effective a force for getting some truth out there, this site really is.

As far as that goes, it makes me pretty happy to be here, but also interested in the games played by "the other side" as a gauge of how the anti=propaganda is really playing.

As of now, I would call this place a centrist blog. I'm defining centrist as not automatically in line with any given party and critical of all views on their own merits. I would also call this a rationalist and thinking blog.

Taking those things together is a rare thing on the web.

Hopefully we just continue to grow and create an environment that fosters more sanity.

If you happen to be an Israeli, the difference between Christian and Muslim fundies is just a tad more than that.
Even in North America, the difference is more like the difference between the eagle and the hijacked airliners.

OK. So Buzzsaw got the boot? How many other folks whose names I got used to seeing here on a daily basis got the boot while I was out on my 3 weeks of Family Leave? Don't take it as a criticism Charles, I don't mean it that way.

I guess I just feel a sense of mild curiosity over the meltdowns that must have occurred while I was away.

It was apparently intentional on his part. He's been hanging out at the stalker blog, having a good old time with people who wish for me to die, or threaten to kill me themselves.

Re: Buzz

I certainly butted heads with him on some things, but for him to go THERE? All he is to them is a special prize. They don't give a rat's behind about him. All they care about is getting long time ex-lizards. Most of them hardly post anyway. Let's see how well Buzz likes the gun posts, but worse than that, the evil gossip and lies that compromise 95% of that cesspool. This is where an observant Jew goes? I think he's flipped his lid.

It never ceases to amaze me that the political dead-end that is Sarah Palin continues to manage to inspire such fervor. Ah well.

All the juicy stuff happens while I'm either tending my new baby, asleep, or away it seems.

Man, I'm trying to think of anything you've ever posted that was so extreme as to inspire that kind of passionate emotional response from anyone. . .and I just can't. In spite of all the evidence to the contrary, I still have a hard time accepting that there are people who cannot think/talk things through in a rational manner.
