Robert Stacy McCain’s Neo-Nazi Friend Will Remain in Jail

US News • Views: 3,326

Bill White, the neo-Nazi freakazoid who threatened me and tried to find my home address and the addresses of my family to post them on his hate site overthrow.com, is going to remain in jail in Virginia until his December trial, according to the Roanoke Times.

A federal appeals court ruled today that neo-Nazi leader William A. White should remain in jail, calling him “a highly intelligent person apparently dedicated to having various persons killed.” …

in asking that White be held without bond, federal prosecutors have pointed to his writings on his now-defunct Web site, which he used as the primary outlet for his Roanoke-based white supremacy organization.

White wrote in one post of fighting the urge every morning to “kill, kill, kill.” In another passage on overthrow.com, he described a “very intricate plot for the murder of about a score of Roanoke’s Negro nuisances and their annoying counterparts at The Roanoke Times.”

Bill White is also infamous for being a friend of white supremacist blogger Robert Stacy McCain. When McCain worked at the Washington Times, he got several articles by White published in the newspaper. McCain also linked to White’s neo-Nazi hate site overthrow.com at Free Republic, using the pseudonym “BurkeCalhounDabney.”

Here are the LGF posts documenting Robert Stacy McCain’s connections to Bill White:

Yeah go figure. What astonishes me the most about the wing nut sphere is how they can be given evidence after evidence of who RSMcCain is, who his cronies are, and yet they do not care.

That would mean that either:

1. They know and do not care

2. They know and they support him.

Either way it shows what scum they are.

Since rape is a tacitly accepted part of the punishment meted out in our jails and prisons, I’d say White either has someone guarding him or he’s in trouble.

Excellent observation Cato.

Yet we as a society agonize and debate endlessly over the alleged torture of a couple of known terrorists, there is widespread acceptance of the widespread rape and abuse convicts experience when under our custody,

Define “fairly rare.”

According to the December 2007 Special Report by the Bureau of Justice Statistics the number of State and Federal prisoners reporting sexual victimization, 2007 states that 60,500 or 4.5% reported that they were victimized.

In general, this sort of thing is widely regarded as being under-reported for a variety of reasons.

Exactly, and I’ve heard some similar snide remarks, which equal approval, from those who have a fit of the vapours at the suggestion that a couple terrorists may have been abused.

Yet regarding convicts, US citizens convicted of crimes and in US custody and even just the accused and presumed innocent, well no problem if tens of thousands are being raped, beaten, and abused.

re: #44 Bagua

I do think that most thoughtful liberals who are concerned about the rights of terrorist suspects also oppose regular prison abuse. And there is such a lot of legitimate cause for outrage in the world that I can see how one would follow the crowd, mostly. And ultimately I don’t believe in the critizism, “But why didn’t you take up my cause instead of the one you chose to get excited about.”
That said, I’ve thought the exact same thing a lot lately. It’s deeply anoying how some problems are “sexy” and others aren’t. And all too often the sexy has a lot to do with contentiousness, thus ensuring that people often fight primarily for the thing the other side will vehemently oppose, instead of taking care of common projects first.

49 Irenicum  Wed, Oct 21, 2009 11:11:12pm

OT/
This is a fascinating poll among ‘evangelical’ professors at seminaries regarding their views concerning their faith and evolution. At least among those who chose to respond fully, 46% said they accept evolutionary biology as accurate to how the current state of physical affairs came about. This is actually quite promising. The folks on the ground , I don’t think, are there yet (to say the least). But this survey explicitly points out the difference between OEC (old earth creationsim) and EC (evolutionary creationism), which distinguishes between those who acknowledge an old earth, but who deny the macro-evolutionary process, and those who acknowledge both an old earth and the macro-evolutionary process. The last option allows for that view. That’s where the 46% becomes more important. It’s still small in comparison to the scientific community (obviously). But it’s a helluva lot better than the obscurantists that get the most publicity. As an EC (evolutionary creationist), this is very promising. And with that, have a great evolving lizardian night. Sleep beckons.

Please don’t get this fixed in your mind as another example of the hypocrisy and the America-hate of the left, unless you can actually show that either the left in general are more or equally dismissive of prison abuse, or show quotes by influential people dismissing one while critizising the other.
Otherwise, I find it sad but not deplorable that people would jump on the new thing, and not on the old and established outrage. It’s shortsighted and sensationalist, but I don’t see evidence that it is motivated by hypocrisy or hate for America. Don’t stereotype the left.

Agreed, I do not put this out as a broad based indictment of any group, rather it is an observation of some of that group. Also, the acceptance of these crimes is not particular to any one political group, rather it appears endemic in US society.

My point is I find the selective outrage of some of the otherwise “bleeding hearts” curious. I don’t find it curious among those of the “kill them all” persuasion.

Yes, fascinating, and not only selective outrage, but also selective fear and selective concern.

Should something weird kill a few people out of hundreds of millions there is widespread concern and fear. Yet things killing hundreds of thousands are all but ignored.

Same with politics, if it’s on the TV news it is the subject of conversation in almost every house, work place, forum, etc. In this way the media frames what we consider important or the news, and sets the agenda of what will be discussed that day.

So millions will be caught up in a small issue of some freakishly unusual development, yet crucial issues get ignored.

Yes, fascinating, and not only selective outrage, but also selective fear and selective concern.

See summer of the shark, snipers. One of my favorite examples is stranger danger. Parents limit their childrens freedom to an incredible degree to avoid this vanishingly small chance, and the parents who don’t meet heavy societal pressure.
Sunstein is very concerned about this whole thing in the context of the law.

BTW, I agree with you both on the issue you’re discussing. The tendency to focus on one crime and excuse or even mock the other crime is a constant problem among those who claim most proudly that they’re “liberal”, yet they give in to a dehumanizing impulse that betrays a mindset that is anything but classically liberal. As a classical liberal, we should be better than that. All of human life is important and should be safeguarded, including those who we most disagree with.

Could you clarify what you mean by dehumanizing impulse?
Also, I must say that in general I am more concerned with people who are selective in who they will critizise then with those who focus on certain crimes and dismisse others. Though I’m not saying that’s a good thing.

Exactly!

And using an example of fears, especially if they don’t apply to us personally, can help enlighten us to how this mechanism works in our political biases and the issues and fears that do apply to us and in which we have bias.
