Neo-Confederates Ride to Blogger Robert Stacy McCain’s Rescue

White supremacist blogger Robert Stacy McCain’s neo-Confederate friends ride to his defense: League of the South Denounces Myself, Charles Johnson for Picking on Racist.

There’s a bit of good news for those various conservative commentators who’ve been defending Robert Stacy McCain in the wake of mounting evidence that he’s a degenerate white supremacist weirdo with connections to various neo-Nazi movements and a penchant for flamboyant metaphors – you fellows have some powerful new allies!

The folks at League of the South – the nation’s most prominent consortium of degenerate, pro-Confederacy, anti-American traitors – have just now thrown in their hoods with the good people at American Spectator, Hot Air, Protein Wisdom, The Pirate’s Cove, and all of those other nodes of conservative commentary that have either defended McCain and attacked his detractors or provided him with an outlet for his relatively well-written bullshit.

Barrett Brown links to a post last night at the League of the South’s blog (called, oddly enough, “Rebellion”), in which I’m identified as a dangerous Neocon pro-war left-globalist secular revolutionary manipulator.

Sounds like an honorary title to me.

Yippee. Another group of self-declared degenerate loons (okay, added that "loon" bit) who are going to go after Charles and others who have exposed the racist past of RS McCain and deplore those who continue to defend the indefensible McCain.

And for our Neo-Confed friends, a musical interlude;

6 Sharmuta  Tue, Oct 27, 2009 9:18:02am

More on the League of the South from the SPLC:

The League of the South, first known as the Southern League, was founded in 1994 by Hill and a group of 40 other people. At first, the LOS appeared to be concerned primarily with questions of Southern culture, threatening to push for secession, at least rhetorically, as a final resort if what were seen as the rights and dignity of the South were not respected.

It keyed in on the notion that Southerners alone among U.S. population groups were commonly denigrated by the "politically correct" dominant culture, seen as emanating from the Yankee North.

And it pushed the idea of the South as fundamentally Christian, calling, in effect, for imposition of a theocracy — a government in which prayers and other religious observances would be common, and mandatory, in public life.

If these are Stacy's defenders- he can have them.

Enjoy these new allies, AllahP!

Clever, Walter, very clever.

In all honesty, though, I can tolerate reading any opinions or points of view, provided they're well-expressed. Hell, I read through a manual on composting once that was easily one of the most enjoyable non-fiction reads of that particular month, because the author knew waht he was talking about, was enthused by it, and had a sufficiently large storehouse of previously read material, plus the mental horsepower to make it all work together.

Fellow was pulling in quotations from Aristotle, Agricola, and Shakespeare, but not in some "see, I can do a keyword search in fancy books" kinda way, but rather, as one who'd read these things, enjoyed them, and thought it might be nice to pass them along for others to enjoy. Good stuff, and the best part was he was having fun working this stuff into what was, after all, a gardening manual.

But RSM? No style, save the derivative piffle he's managed to cobble together from HST and the bloated, ponderous rhetorical traditions of 19th century ersatz intellectualism. If anyone's read "absalom, absalom!" that peculiarly rhetorical style affected by Sutphen when he speaks is about as close to RSM as you're likely to find in American letters.

"The Cause" is undefined unless, I suppose, one goes and clicks the hottie.

I notice this all the time, and I have pointed it out here. Most Lizards on LGF can compose "on the fly" mini-essays, in a very coherent and comprehensive way all day long.

RSM, who evidently has the opportunity to actually take some thought and time to compose his diatribes, displays none of the common skills that are part of making a point, debating it and then rebutting it.

It may have something to do with the fact that his positions are indefensible, or at least, he tries to prove himself to not be something that he himself has proven he is.

It must be actually mentally painful for him to have to write himself out of those corners that he places himself in.

And it shows.

Origin of "Esquire":
esquire
1374, from M.Fr. esquier "squire," lit. "shield-bearer" (for a knight), from O.Fr., from L. scutarius "shield-bearer, guardsman," from scutum "shield" (see hide (n.1)). Cf. squire. Originally the feudal rank below knight, sense broadened 16c. to a general title of courtesy or respect for the educated class, especially, later, in U.S., for lawyers.

Used for the educated class - wouldn't apply in this case. Except in McCain's own mind.

That's horrible. It looks like the GOP didn't learn anything from the embarrassing community blogs that were constantly being posted at Obama's campaign web site before the election.

Hard to tell them apart. I wish the GOP wouldn't opt in to the same tactics that the left used in the past.

They pulled all the photos from the RNC Facebook page. Remember that "miscegenation" image? Well, a Newsweek blog picked up on it:

More RNC Internet Follies: Racist Images on Fan Photo Page

The Republican National Committee just can't catch a break online. Since, as RNC chairman Michael Steele noted, the Internet has been around for a while, the party relaunched their Web site two weeks ago with what it hoped would be a snazzy, eye-catching, hip new design. The site did get a lot of attention, but most of it was searing at best. Detractors skewered the format, especially Steele's embarrasingly titled blog, What Up? which recalled his promise of an "off the hook" PR offensive that would take the GOP to “urban-suburban hip-hop settings.” (The blog name was quickly changed.)

With that sideshow going on, perhaps the RNC has forgotten to keep an eye on their Facebook page, where "fans"─members of the Facebook group─can upload their own images. It's hard to put words to just how appalling the above picture, which appears to have been removed in the last hour or so, is: the idea that miscegenation is an anti-American crime, combined with the racist meme of President Barack Obama eating fried chicken and reference to Loving v. Virginia─the landmark Supreme Court case that struck down laws banning interracial marriage─is pretty stunning. The image was posted Tuesday, coinciding with news out of Louisiana that a justice of the peace was refusing to wed a white woman and a black man; Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal and Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu were quick to condemn the judge, while critics have pilloried Republican Sen. David Vitter for his tardy and tepid criticism.

OT UPDATE on weather...

Storm appears to be on track for a significant snow event beginning Tue night and lasting through the day on Thu. Some minor differneces in models but the concensus is for a major wintor storm. This will be a long duration event with periods of very heavy snow at times. Snow will begin sometime Tue night with 2-5 inches in the foothills by commute time Wed morning. Snow will also be falling down to the urban corridor. Since roads may warm up today, initial snow may melt and form a layer of ice underneath as more snow falls, so roads could be very slick Wed morning. Heavy snow looks to be on tap for Wed with snowfall rates 2-3 inches per hour at times. The Wed evening commute will be very bad. Fairly strong northeast winds will accompany this system causing blowing and drifting of snow and reduced visibility, making driving even worse. Snow continues Wed night into Thu morning and then begins to let up later in the day on Thu. Heaviest snow periods look to be Wed during the day and again late Wed night into Thu morning. So the Thu morning commute will be very bad as well.

Current storm total snowfall looks to be 18-24 inches in the more favored areas such as Conifer Mtn, Shadow Mtn, 12-18 inches in Conifer, Aspen Park and foothill areas to the east, 10-16 inches in banana belt areas like Pine and Bailey and lower foothills. Urban corridor will see 8-14 inches.

Snow should end by Thu evening, with snow lasting longer towards the NE corner of Colorado. Be advised that there is the potential for some strong westerly winds Thu night and Fri, so with all the fresh snow on the ground, significant blowing and drifting of snow may occur causing very poor visibility, especially in areas like South Park.

Hopefully this storm has been well advertised and everyone is prepared. Hopefully with the colder temps the snow will be light enough that we don't have power problems, but as with any significant winter storm, be prepared for possible power outages.

The House Cleaning Continues at The Washington Times

January 17, 2008

This Tuesday, Hatewatch contacted McCain for comment about the managerial changes at the Times. McCain, who then seemed upbeat, told Hatewatch that he felt that newly named executive editor John Solomon was a “stand-up guy.” McCain added, “Of course, the newsroom was shocked by the back-to-back announcements that both Wes Pruden and Fran Coombs were leaving,” and called both men “excellent newspapermen.” He especially praised Coombs — who has his own history of ties to white supremacy — for being “the cog that turned the wheel, the straw that stirred the drink” at the Times.

Cops: Victim lodged in man's windshield

According to police, Swiridowsky hit three pedestrians Sunday around 1:35 a.m. The victims were stopped on the side of the road on Interstate 95 South in Providence to assess the damage caused by an earlier accident.

Two of the three pedestrians suffered major injuries, including Jose Flores, 24, from Central Falls. Police said Flores was impaled in Swiridowsky's windshield.

"I was chasing him. I stopped my car. That's when he got out of his car and I asked him why in front of me," said eyewitness Albert Gonzalez.

They said Swiridowsky drove 1.5 miles, with Flores still lodged in the windshield, before stopping the car and taking off on foot.

Here is Stacy claiming the power of the religious right is liberal propaganda:

The demonization of the “Religious Right” was a project developed by Norman Lear and others during the Reagan era, after Jerry Falwell’s Moral Majority played such a key role in the 1980 election, and this theme has defined the politics of the Democratic Party ever since.

As a political tactic, it is both amazingly effective and fundamentally false. The Republican Party is chiefly devoted to political policies having nothing specifically to do with evangelical Christianity. Yet there is an entire industry of liberal propagandists who specialize in seeking out various outre pronouncements of “Religious Right” leaders and presenting these views as if they would become firm policy in the next Republican administration. . . .

Vast left-wing conspiracy!1!

People who support racism, wax nostalgic about slavery and plantations and such are stupid, evil or both. Being called names by such people is a badge of honor. I don't really know much about Robert Stacy McCain, but however good he may appear in some areas of his life, keeping shameful associations is condemning. Defending him while he continues to keep such associations makes his defenders shameful too.

Two points:

Pro-Confederacy means "for a confederation of states" or "pro-states' rights", not pro-racism.

The United States was originally a confederacy under the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, ratified in 1781. Pro-Confederacy does not necessarily mean anti-American.

P.S.

"In conclusion, the Confederacy surrendered."
-Barrett Brown

While Gen. R. E. Lee surrendered his army, the Confederacy never surrendered—the issue was moot without an army.
