I dig the animation.

2 Guanxi88  Sat, Nov 7, 2009 4:45:08pm

That was easily two of the oddest things I've seen today.

I say Potato...let's call the whole thing off.

5 Guanxi88  Sat, Nov 7, 2009 4:50:48pm

The take-away lesson from the video is that the charming young woman with the piercing eyes is really a wolf who's out to steal your carpetbag.

I think they get in via Egypt quite a bit. "Humanitarian" tunnels and all. I read where they tax the food coming through their missile suggling tunnels. I know the lay of the land...over land would take you into Turkey or Iraq, one of the two...I thought that was the implication for an alternate to a sea rt...yes you can fly, but it would take alot of airtime and big planes to get enough firepower into Lebenon to threaten the Israelis...could be, but if so. who's airspace are the violating?

In Eastern Turkey, especially the northeat away from the Iraq border (bordering Iran) not so much

PKK are still terrorists to us, and they are somewhat on the outs with the average Kurd. Think of PKK as the Kurdish tribal supremacists who want a tribal homeland composed of Northern Iraq, part of Turkey, and part of Iran and you will get a better feel for them and how they operate. In other words they are tribal nationalist socialists, does that ring a bell? They are not our allies.

I don't dispute that, but if that is a secure effective route, then why try to run the Israeli blockade with such a huge shipment of arms in violation of UN sanctions, and risk condemnation (heh)?...does not really add up

And while that ship qwas being steered into safe harbor, how many other ships or small craft got through?
Don;t get ne wrong, I applaud the IDF for being vigilant and catching this one, but until the world cares, it will continue

And we know, because it's Israel, for the most part the "world" doesn't care

I read an anecdote about how deadly serious the Israeli navy is, in Richard Marcinko's first book. A patrol boat intercepted Palestinian terrorists trying to infiltrate from Lebanon in an open boat. The patrol boat sank it, and then machine-gunned the infiltrators as they bobbed in the water. The skipper later explained that he couldn't see whether or not they were carrying grenades. He was promoted to captain on the spot.

Marcinko contrasted that concern with the welfare of the men under his command with the U.S. in Lebanon, who out of deference to local sensitivities posted guards with unloaded weapons and as a consequence lost 300+ Marines to a suicide bomber. But that's another story.

Some of the other routes are closed down. Civil War in Pakistan coupled with the contretemps over the Jundullah terror ops in Iran's Sistan-Baluchi province right now has Taftan and other border crossings locked tighter than drums. I tuned in CSPAN.

Boehner=Drone Wars

You ain't kidding, I wish they had made him stop at 6 minutes. He got more than four minutes over. He isn't saying anything that hasn't been said a dozen times already, enough grandstanding for the cameras already.

That looks like a minor case of the clap.

Perhaps if you were to visit the health care provider of your choice...?

So all those new bureaucracies this bill creates, you have no problem with them?

Come on now man, your messing with my fun, Boehner is killing me.
This is a hoot listening to him drone on and on while sounding a bit lit up.

Let them have their oversight committees etc. Unless you loved the TARP oversight... This way we can hold their feet to the fire on performance-no excuses.

Well, it's been a while, but as I recall he'll have to uncover it for an inspection before treatment.

Yeah. Required by SALT (Short Arms Limitation Treaty).

I've opened one of the last four bottles of my rotgut of choice over here.

When they're gone, I guess I'll have to rethink my options, but for now all is well.

Among other things, it was taking forever to load or shut down, especially if there was more than one tab open. I tried the usual stuff (clear cache etc.) and nothing helped. I also didn't care for the interface. SeaMonkey is actually related to FF by way of the Mozilla source codes, but it seems much cleaner and faster than FF so far.

And also:

One minute I was onstage with my mother, the next moment I was
onstage with Judy Garland. One minute she smiled at me, and the next
minute she was like the lioness that owned the stage and suddenly
found somebody invading her territory...The killer instinct of a
performer had come out in her.

re: #167 Irenicum

The Daily Beast has a decent article about the rise of the radical right.

"But in conversation Roper, 37, a former skinhead and history teacher who now lives with his wife and children and says he raises money for charities (he wouldn’t say which) for a living, is almost unnervingly articulate in conversation."

A dangerous inclination, to equate eloquence with decency.
