A great live performance of “Gravity” by John Mayer and his excellent band, from the album Continuum. (Here it is at the iTunes Store.)

Fantastic song, and fantastic version. Mofo can play some guitar too.

the kid is white hot...none of his peers and few of his elders can touch him...an extraordinary talent imo

OT:Kudos to Patterico for acknowledging RSM is a racist scumbag.

Charles just posted one of my favorite songs..Woot!
Now that's what I'm talking about! I saw him play this song in Chicago in 2007...

Cats defy gravity and common sense.

I saw that. But it's still pretty weak if you ask me.

And notice that none of these people will link to my posts about McCain, even though they're much more thoroughly documented and packed with evidence and links -- even as they start to go, "Hmm. What's that smell?"

9 HoosierHoops  Mon, Dec 7, 2009 4:37:43pm

The link deserves lyrics...
Gravity
Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down

Oh I'll never know what makes this man
With all the love that his heart can stand
Dream of ways to throw it all away

Oh Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down

Oh twice as much ain't twice as good
And can't sustain like a one half could
It's wanting more
That's gonna send me to my knees
[repeat]

Oh gravity, stay the hell away from me
And gravity has taken better men than me (now how can that be?)

Just keep me where the light is
Just keep me where the light is
Just keep me where the light is
C'mon keep me where the light is
C'mon keep me where the light is
Oh... where the light is! [repeat]

Good version of Standing on the Moon from one of the many shows I had the pleasure of attending.

Cowboys didn't win so you didn't miss anything.

Cool!! My team had 469 yards of offense and lost by 10. Picks (5) will do that.

Even when they play I usually don't miss much.

Crap...here's a better version, from Oakland 1989...Not so choppy as the previous taping.

This also has the added benefit of Clarence Clemons from the E Street Band on sax...always fun shows when Clarence was there.

Agreed but it's still a sign that people are starting to notice how vile some of their associates are. It's something they're going to have to deal with eventually. I imagine there are a lot more people out there who are not willing to speak up yet.

And of course, McCain responded by spewing some more hatred at me, and posting a long, nearly incoherent rant about Patterico that doesn't deny a single point Patterico raised.

L. A. Times: U.S. sees homegrown Muslim extremism as rising threat

The Obama administration, grappling with a spate of recent Islamic terrorism cases on U.S. soil, has concluded that the country confronts a rising threat from homegrown extremism.

Anti-terrorism officials and experts see signs of accelerated radicalization among American Muslims, driven by a wave of English-language online propaganda and reflected in aspiring fighters' trips to hot spots such as Pakistan and Somalia.

Just a disquieting reminder that there are worse things bubbling under here at home than people waving rude signs on the Washington Mall.

RSM's refusal to stick up for himself is telling. He's a good writer and could do so if he wanted to. He surely knows that what he's said is indefensible outside his little world.

I love this song, and the whole album.
