I’m Touched By Their Devotion

It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to inspire creativity in people, and this tribute by some right wing admirers is a great example. This must have taken some time and effort to produce! Truly I am blessed, to be such a large influence on their lives.

Truly a testament to their obsessive compulsive disorder.

Also- the calendar is lovely.

What sort of software and time commitment would go into producing a video of this sort?

3 Blueheron  Sat, Dec 12, 2009 1:29:13pm

They have ripped off your great pics Charles. Sue 'em!

What's an atheistic photograph?

I thought the production value was pretty good, but the humor was lame. And that seems to be one of the right's big problems.

61 _RememberTonyC  Sat, Dec 12, 2009 1:51:53pm

the larger point in all of this is that it takes balls, REAL balls to publicly denounce people who are doing dangerous things. Charles has called out these people and is now suffering the slings and arrows.

It reminds me of righteous Muslims who have the courage to speak out aginst the radical ones. They show enormous courage and seemingly get nothing in return except for more grief.

But they (and Charles) have my gratitude for their principled stand.

The "YouTube hitpiece" seems to be the latest front in the silly blogwars. I can't figure out why people take the time to produce them when they are only understood by the few hundred people that actually bother to look at them. It's not like someone browsing on YouTube would ever run across them and if they did they would be incomprehensible. It's just throwing red meat to people who already feel a certain way about something. Minds will not be changed because of crap like this.

68 simoom  Sat, Dec 12, 2009 1:58:35pm

I saw some of these videos last night when I was putting Charles' radio interview up on YouTube.

There was one that must have been made using the end of some blockbuster movie that I couldn't place where around the world people are celebrating some hero, holding up signs, photos of them, looking up at their image on billboards, etc while inspiring, climactic music plays. Someone had mapped that joker-makeup CJ image onto all of those surfaces, making it distort correctly as the perspective shifted with pans and rotations.

The effort these folks put into displaying their obsessive hatred of Charles is kind of impressive (and frightening/certifiable).

This goes back waaay further than recent political history. The LGF Watch stalkers have been behaving like this for years - back before Rathergate. Rodan was banned long before McCain even won the nomination, long before that we had the Gulf Coast Pundit stalkers. There is something seriously wrong with these people that they fixate on LGF and Charles. For me, it's always seems as though the stalkers of the banned had come to regard LGF as their blog, and not Charles blog where they were members. Once they learned it wasn't their blog, they lost some apparently integral aspect of sanity, and decided to spend their days displaying an obsessive disorder unlike any we've ever seen. It's truly a baffling phenomenon.
