TMZ Falls for JFK Hoax, Pamela Geller Changes History

Gossip site TMZ ran a story today about a photo of John F. Kennedy on a yacht with several naked women, and headlined it: The JFK Photo That Could Have Changed History.

In their article, TMZ cited “multiple experts” and quoted a “forensic analyst” who vouched for the authenticity of the photo.

TMZ had multiple experts examine the photo — all say there is no evidence the picture was Photoshopped. The original print — which is creased — was scanned and examined for evidence of inconsistent lighting, photo composition and other forms of manipulation. The experts all concluded the photo appears authentic.

Professor Jeff Sedlik, a forensic photo expert, says the print appears to be authentic. Sedlik says the photo is printed on paper consistent with what was used in the 1950s. The emulsion on the surface of the print has numerous cracks — the result of aging and handling. …

Forensic analyst Sedlik superimposed an image of Kennedy taken at the Democratic National Convention in August 1956, just days before Kennedy went on the Mediterranean cruise. Sedlik says the features from the two pics almost precisely sync up. TMZ has also had two Kennedy biographers examine the photo — they also believe JFK is in the picture.

TMZ concludes their article with the ominous news that if the photo had been released in 1960 it would have “changed history:”

Had the photo surfaced when John F. Kennedy ran for President in 1960, it could have torpedoed his run, and changed world history.

Imagine my negligible surprise to discover the photo is a hoax, as The Smoking Gun proves here: TMZ Falls For JFK Photo Hoax.

And speaking of “changing history,” one of the right wing bloggers who fell for the hoax, hook, line, and sinker, is the web’s craziest shrieking harpy, Pamela Geller, who shrieked:

TMZ has the goods on this photo of JFK and a gaggle of naked women. Too bad the left wing pravda media protected him. Just think. For starters, we’d still have Cuba.

Today if that picture emerged, they’d give him a Nobel. What a difference 40-odd years makes.

Leave it to Geller to find the Obama connection, no matter how strained. But the link to Geller’s anti-Muslim hate site goes to Google’s cache because she simply deleted her post without updating or acknowledging that she fell for an obvious hoax.

But the idiocy doesn’t even stop there, because Cuba was taken over by Castro’s forces in 1959.

UPDATE at 12/28/09 12:22:33 pm:

In more shrieking harpy news, Geller’s moronic post about the White House Christmas tree “festooned with evil” is duplicated today at far right web site Newsmax — the site that recently published an article advocating a military takeover of the US government.
