Hatewatch Recalls Ann Coulter’s Defense of White Supremacists

Weird • Views: 6,768

The Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hatewatch blog has a shout-out to LGF in their 3rd Annual Smackdown Awards, in the section about Ann Coulter’s utterly appalling defense of the white nationalist Council of Conservative Citizens.

8. Most Intrepid Researcher Award
This category had a crowded field of contenders — especially among the host of went one better last January in her latest bestselling hissy fit, Guilty: Liberal “Victims” and Their Assault on America, where she reported the results of her research into the Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC). Most of us knew the CCC as a group that has written that blacks are “a retrograde species of humanity,” run photographic comparisons of pop singer Michael Jackson and a chimpanzee, and whined about “Jewish power brokers” and “perverted sodomites.” Gosh, they even say right in their “Statement of Principles” that they “oppose all efforts to mix the races of mankind.” But Intrepid Annie set us straight, revealing that despite its bad rep, the CCC has been defamed and is merely “a conservative group.”

For coding HTML/CSS, I use a text editor called Notepad++. Love the syntax highlighting and other nifty features it has...plus the fact it's Open Source, of course :) As for CS4, if you do a lot of photo/image manipulation, it's worth it. I couldn't live without Photoshop.

As far as I know, there are no other multiple platform web development tool that can compete with CS4 for scope of capability.

The Microsoft product I avoid, and since I use a Mac that works out just fine.

For the Mac there are some other tools, but all are much more limited than CS4. RapidWeaver has been recommended to me but it seems like it wouldn't be worth the money - I can do in iWeb what I need for the simple personal web sites.

Adobe has created a captive market. Brilliant business strategy, for now, for them, but I am hoping that other companies will step up to the plate. There is an ongoing rumor that Apple will come out with a more serious application than iWeb. Hope that turns out to be true.

I like!

I think we should at least have an award for biggest nontroversy of the year. It's bipartisan in intent, although this year someone in the crankosphere would likely win it, and for a really nerdy name, we could call it the MacGuffin:

MacGuffin is a plot device that holds no meaning or purpose of its own except to advance the story.

E.g.,

The best Hitchcock MacGuffin is considered by film scholars to be the one used in North by Northwest. In this movie, the MacGuffin is the character of "George Kaplan", who is being chased by the enemy spies. Roger Thornhill (Cary Grant) is mistaken for Kaplan by the spies, and so they chase him instead. Thornhill spends the course of the movie trying to find George Kaplan himself... without realizing that George Kaplan does not even exist. Both the hero and the villains of the movie are chasing nothing more than a puff of hot air, making this a true MacGuffin.

heh.

Coulter brings madrassa lie back to Fox News

COULTER: And I also would like say, especially with a former Obama advisor on the program, I mean, this is - this was part of the selling point of for Obama liberal. Andrew Sullivan pointed out, you know, what are these radical Islamists going to do when they look and see the president of the great Satan. And you know, he has brown skin. And he attended madrassas. And he talks about how he's so moved by the call to prayer five times a day. He used to hear in Indonesia. If anyone can say we're going to look for radical Islamists, it ought to be President Obama. If he does that, if he institutes racial profiling at the airports, I'll vote for him.
...
COULTER: Right, I think they have. And that isn't a very long time for three actual attacks on U.S. soil. And I think the point is, these are two competing ideologies of how you deal with our enemies. And if anything, I mean -- I mean, they kept using it as a selling point that Obama would throw Islamic radicals on their hind legs when they look up and they see someone who studies with [sic: studied at] madrassas and they see the "Great Satan" has a president with a brown face and the world is going to love us.

I could, of course, spend the time blocking all methods of entry. I have done this three times so far and the varmints always seem to win. For the longest time, I rationalized the holes that were made in my "perimeter" (while not great) at least allowed the neighbors two cats to get in...)

One day, down at the beach.... my two sons and I watched a mother otter and her three young. They were playing in the water at low tide. Suddenly, the mother otter barked and began hump-de-humping across the beach. Two of the young fell into position behind Mom..... away they went (hump-de-hump de-humping....) but the third youngin' continued to play in the water. A few meters down the beach, Mom turns around and snarls at the third youngster. He continued to play in the water.

And, so, back she comes..... with the two others in tow. She grabbed No. 3 by the scruff of his neck.... turned around..... and away they went....

My sons and I felt we were touched by the hand of God.

Away they went.

I told my sons..... "he's the boy".

There are river otter, I believe.

I only ever see them when we go to Monterey Bay. They're wonderful animals.

Not otter related, but one of the most interesting things I ever saw at Monterey was about ten years ago--the sea lions were migrating, and a giant bunch of adolescent males somehow got dropped off at Monterey Bay. They lingered. In huge quantities. It was like Spring Break for sea lions. They were sinking boats. They were sitting under trees. They went up to the freeway, and had to be scooted back off by Animal Control and the Highway Patrol.

I felt lousy for the fishermen, but it was fascinating to see.

re: #73 WindHorse

I could, of course, spend the time blocking all methods of entry. I have done this three times so far and the varmints always seem to win. For the longest time, I rationalized the holes that were made in my "perimeter" (while not great) at least allowed the neighbors two cats to get in...)

One day, down at the beach... my two sons and I watched a mother otter and her three young. They were playing in the water at low tide. Suddenly, the mother otter barked and began hump-de-humping across the beach. Two of the young fell into position behind Mom... away they went (hump-de-hump de-humping...) but the third youngin' continued to play in the water. A few meters down the beach, Mom turns around and snarls at the third youngster. He continued to play in the water.

And, so, back she comes... with the two others in tow. She grabbed No. 3 by the scruff of his neck... turned around... and away they went...

My sons and I felt we were touched by the hand of God.

Away they went.

I told my sons... "he's the boy".

LOL. :)

My father once kayaked by a mother otter floating on the bay, holding her baby. He said he was absolutely blown away. It was incredibly spiritual. (He's Catholic. Mother and child images go right to the core.)

I'll get one as good or better, but it will take a few years before prices drop down as new tech comes out. In 20 yrs you will be hard pressed to find anything still done on film. The digitals have already surpassed film cams in resolution, and theaters are installing digital projectors all over the country.

Jews, you see, are sneaky. Many of us look white, but are actually Jews. It worries these guys, because we can move around undetected.

(A friend of mine was once asked her ethnic background by some skinhead boy on Haight St. She said "German and Lithuanian." He said "Wanna go out?"

Luckily her very tall biracial boyfriend and some of his buddies came out of the music store at this point, and skinhead kid decided to go somewhere else.)

Apparently, I am descended from Czechs and Hungarians. I might be a blood relative to one of these guys (and that would be pretty gratifying, honestly):

They've got it all: compelling lyrics, breathtaking dance moves, and musical sophistication. They certainly SEEM like 'My People.'

Anyway, my current dilemma has to do with the fact that Jewish wimminz I shamelessly lust after such as Lisa Edelstein and Natalie Portman continuously fail to spontaneously fall in love with me sight unseen.

Of course: black, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indego, and violet women also manage to ignore me. Maybe my haircut is all wrong, could that be it?

It never ceases to amaze me. One of the reasons the GOP lost big in 2006 was because of the corruption and scandals -- Mark Foley, Bob Ney, Tom DeLay. So along side the current corruption and hypocrisy we're seeing historical blindness taking place.

alright... only one more animal story... (I promise)

One Fourth of July, I was down at the local parade.... It was sunny and warm and beautiful.... the music was flowing, people were laughing... everyone was having a great time.... woo-hoo... a parade.

Suddenly, right down Main Street at an elevation of about 50-Feet (right above the parade), here comes an Osprey with a pretty good sized fish in his talons. No more than three feet behind it was a bald eagle chasing him. First the Osprey is flying with his left wing up and his right wing down.... flapping madly.... then in an instant, he rolls 180-degrees... with his right wing up and his left wing down..... .and on and on... eagle right there trying to catch him....

In an instant they were gone....

but, for an instant.... I saw Nature.

No, it's pretty much a fact that several R's and some D's live part time or full time in the same place in DC, and tend to talk political strategy around the bible and support each other's efforts. Two members of my state's delegation belong, Sam Brownback (very likely to become Governor Kansas,) and Todd Tiarht. The C st house had some problems as well because of the chapel iirc.

I'm an I.T. Guy by trade for a Fortune 500 company whose name I guarantee you know (believe it or not, I sometimes actually know what I'm doing, but probably not always). In our organization, one of the surest ways to get fired is to use your corporate email account to send or forward stupid email. The reason is that emails can be (and usually are) forwarded all over the world. Even if your own contribution is completely innocuous, you have no control over the horrible depravity that might be attached to it by subsequent readers and/or forwarders.

When Precious Little Suzie Snowflake, age 9, stumbles across a goatse-esque nightmare with your very own dumbass@employer.com address attached to it, and when her parents subsequently phone up four media outlets and half a dozen law firms, guess what's going to happen.

Firing her immediately is the only course of action, regardless of how old she is. Otherwise, you're in the position of having to defend whatever she posted / emailed / forwarded.
