Breitbart’s Big Government Finally Retracts False Claim

It took him six days to do it, but Andrew Breitbart has finally issued a lame semi-apology for his completely false claim that the CEO of ACORN visited the White House on September 5th: UPDATE: White House Spokeswoman Says Different Bertha Lewis on Visitor’s Log - Big Government.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the “Big Government” blog if Breitbart didn’t also take the opportunity to hint about dark conspiracies yet to be uncovered:

I end with this question: What is the point of the White House issuing visitor logs if those named can’t be identified and verified? “Transparency” would seem to call for nothing less, especially when those innocent people could easily be confused with the head of an organization recently defunded by Congress, a controversial preacher who shouted “God Damn America,” and an unrepentant domestic terrorist.

Right. Because everyone who visits the White House should have their personal information revealed to the wingnut blogosphere — especially if their name resembles the name of a wingnut target. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Something tells me that Breitbart himself wouldn’t be too happy if the White House revealed his personal information.
