It's posts like these that really make me revere and appreciate The Discovery Institute's commitment of energy, money, and resources into researching the newest and most intricately complex boundaries of science to add to the sum of human knowledge.

I was expecting this to be a post about Michele Bachmann (R - Mars). I'm glad I was mistaken.

Impressive! Not sure I'd like to go there though. I too much a home body and a fear of heights will keep me grounded I'm a afraid. I don't even like to look out our 2nd story window! But what a landscape! I love stuff like this.

I think Martian atmosphere is a little too thin for flying much of anything; a balloon or blimp, maybe.

I'm in the weird position of having my full-time job, and my part-time job, both directly involved with this planet.

On January 26th, 2274 Mars days into the mission, NASA declared Spirit a 'stationary research station', expected to stay operational for several more months until the dust buildup on its solar panels forces a final shutdown.

It was originally expected to last 90 days.

Spirit is still going to function and NASA will exist in 2274?

Even Babylon 5 will be getting long in the tooth in 2274.

How disappointing. I was expecting a perspective on Michele Bachmann.

Still, the video is impressive.

See? That's why I don't trust NASA. They say they're going to do something for 90 days, and six years and three months later, they haven't finished. WTF is up with that?
