Tonight my friends.. I'm plugging in my foam green classic Fender Stat into the My studio pro Amp and turning it up to 11 before bed time...
Yes Winston will be hiding under the covers...
I love playing music....I'm not very good..But it's fun
I'm working on a really cool E riff lately ( Sorry stalkers you can't steal these words)

When I think of all those nights
All those games you played
All those times I tried to leave
But all those those times I stayed
I still hear your laughter
And it cut's me like a blade

It's a thin line
Between what is and what is not
It's a thin line line
Between what you need and what you got

When I think of lovers
You were the best in the world
Moon light through your window
let you shinning like a pearl
You illuminate the difference
between a woman and a girl..

It's a thin line

It's a thin line
Between what is and what is not
It's a thin line line
Between what you need and what you got...

@ Me...
Tonight I'll do the 3rd verse...

Just had my black Peavey Wolfgang plugged into my Peavey Stereo Chorus 400 via my Roland GT-6, cranked all the way up to 6, maybe 6.5, hammered an opening b-flat... and was told to turn it down.

Whoever offed the Hamas guy in Dubai, I'm sure they snuck up the back staircase, after disabling any cams in the stairwell. All those people parading around in the lobby and the elevators were just a distraction, if not just some innocent random tourists.

The distract with one team, kill with the other trick. It works quite well.

Taliban militants are increasingly using civilians as "human shields" as they battle against a joint Afghan-Nato offensive, an Afghan general has said.
Gen Mohiudin Ghori said his soldiers had seen Taliban fighters placing women and children on the roofs of buildings and firing from behind them. [Link: news.bbc.co.uk...]

I took my cat to the vet. She needed anti biotics. So at the front desk they ask what flavor I want. I say "tuna". The young lady behind the counter stats laughing, and says grape or bubblegum? I say grape flavor for my fucking CAT?! She explains vets use childrens meds. Ooookaaay. I'll take bubblegum, I say. The rest of the story is a lot like "how to give a cat a pill". I thank god both the cat and I lived.

I've been having some very serious problems with mail delivery for a couple of weeks now and I was wondering if any other Lizardoids had had similar experiences.

I was planning to move and mentioned this to my mail carrier two weeks ago Friday. At the same time, I asked for a change of address kit. All mail delivery ceased the very next day even though I did not submit the change of address until the following Thursday, almost a week later. I am told that forwarded mail does not start for 7-10 postal business days (effectively 2 weeks in real world time) after the request is submitted but this does not explain why my service stopped almost a week before that.

I have not received so much as a junk flyer for the old address in almost two weeks and there has not been enough time for the forwarded mail to get here, even though it is the same zip code and less than a mile away. It doesn't help that the carrier station in this area does not have a working telephone, or at least not one with a publicly listed number. I contacted the postal inspectors Monday but have not heard from them yet.

Have we discussed the sale of Hot Air on here yet ?

"Sources close to the deal claim that Michelle Malkin, the conservative pundit and sole owner of Hot Air, has been in talks with Salem for some time, but the announcement was timed to coincided with the Conservative Political Action Conference, which opens tomorrow in Washington D.C. …

Salem Communication defines itself as a leading U.S. radio broadcaster, Internet content provider, and magazine and book publisher targeting audiences interested in Christian and family-themed content and conservative values. "

Since AP is a atheist, will they keep him, will Hot Air go all religious far right, inquiring minds want to know.

A little Eliot to start the night off on the wrong foot:

At the first turning of the second stair
I turned and saw below
The same shape twisted on the banister
Under the vapour in the fetid air
Struggling with the devil of the stairs who wears
The deceitul face of hope and of despair.

At the second turning of the second stair
I left them twisting, turning below;
There were no more faces and the stair was dark,
Damp, jagged, like an old man's mouth drivelling, beyond repair,
Or the toothed gullet of an aged shark.

At the first turning of the third stair
Was a slotted window bellied like the figs's fruit
And beyond the hawthorn blossom and a pasture scene
The broadbacked figure drest in blue and green
Enchanted the maytime with an antique flute.
Blown hair is sweet, brown hair over the mouth blown,
Lilac and brown hair;
Distraction, music of the flute, stops and steps of the mind over the third stair,
Fading, fading; strength beyond hope and despair
Climbing the third stair.

Lord, I am not worthy
Lord, I am not worthy
but speak the word only.

Full time carriers are actually quite professional, or at least the ones I've known are. The part timers are several grades lower.

I think it depends on where you are and who you get. My local mail carrier is freakin' awesome. Grumpy old crank that always does the job right, and then some.

Where my buddy used to live, he had to tell everyone not to send him any kind of holiday cards, or anything that looked like it might contain money. His regular carrier would steal just about anything.

U.S. lawmakers blast Ayalon's boycott of J Street delegation

Five U.S. Congressmen on a visit here, which the left-wing American advocacy group J Street initiated, yesterday held a news conference in Tel Aviv to demand an official explanation for an apparent snub by Danny Ayalon, deputy foreign minister.

Tension between the Foreign Ministry and J Street was believed to be behind the unprecedented diplomatic rift between Israel and the U.S. Congress.

"It was with real surprise and disappointment that we read a headline in this morning's newspaper saying 'Foreign Ministry boycotts members of Congress,'" said Rep. William Delahunt (D-Massachusetts), who heads the delegation.

J Street director Jeremy Ben-Ami said at the news conference that he was confused by Ayalon's calling the lobby anti-Israel. "Our relations with Israel's embassy in Washington are on the mend...I hope this is no more than his personal opinion," he said.

I'm fine. I was clearing built up ice off an overhang at work and it fell on me instead of just hitting the ground. It put a couple of cuts in my forehead, but did no other damage. They didn't even hurt much. I disinfected them with some help from a co-worker and they're closing up nicely, but I did not think putting ashes on a scabbed-over area was a good idea.

I still haven't finished watching the vids, but I did get to wondering...

What if the people on the vids are just random nobodies? Just folks in the vicinity that they have lots of CC footage of.

I think the fake passports they allegedly used are from identity theft hackers, and all they really did was hang around the cams in the lobby and by the elevators. The hit team (if there was one, the guy could have just had a stroke or a heart attack) kept out of sight, taking the back stairs, which has no cams, or the cams have been disabled.

It's some UAE rich sheikhs playing "CSI" and making up their own scenarios. This is so not the Mossad SOP.

Russia delays delivery of S-300 advanced air defence missiles to Iran

Russia raised Western hopes that it will support tougher international sanctions against Iran’s nuclear programme by announcing a delay in delivery of S-300 advanced air defence missiles.

The postponement for unspecified “technical problems” was made public a day after Binyamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, urged Russia to support “crippling” sanctions against Tehran during a visit to Moscow.

So, I'm watching this old movie for the first time: "Midnight Express".

Stoopud-ass American kid gets caught with a shit-ton of hash at the airport in Turkey. Goes to Turkish slammer. Gets the Lawrence of Arabia treatment first night.

What's? The? Point? I'm supposed to feel sorry because he's American?

Seriously?

I'm not sure how far into the movie you are but it's really a great story. Just think of it like any other prison movie, there's not really a political message.

I just looked it up and I think my question is answered. It was likely beer and wine induced. That makes sense. Also explains the whole head first skeleton thing. :D

Luge, like the skeleton and the bobsled, originated in the health-spa town of St Moritz, Switzerland, in the mid-to-late nineteenth century, through the endeavours of hotel entrepreneur Caspar Badrutt. Badrutt successfully sold the idea of winter resorting, as well as rooms with food, drink, and activities. His more adventurous English guests began adapting delivery boys' sleds for recreation, which led to collisions with pedestrians as they sped down the lanes and alleys of the village. This had two outcomes: in the short term the guests began to devise methods of steering the sleds, and so invented the skeleton (head first, prone), the luge (feet first, supine), and the two- and four-man bobsleighs. In the long term, in the interests of pedestrian safety, he built a thin special track for his guests' activities — the world's first "half-pipe", in about 1870.

Killer bee, weren't they? I loved my Flexi. Tore the shit out of it over the years.

Though the most fun I ever had on any sled was a GT Racer in my early twenties. I went to this small mountain to do the ski bumb thing for the winter. It was a really good snow year and there was tons of it and whole we were waiting for the mountain to open we got really bored.

Somehow someone discovered this road that would up a hill and since it had a tower on top in was plowed. It had banks around the turns so it was like a really funky sled track. So a bunch of us bought some sleds and with the help of a truck started some sledding fun. End up developing into GT-Racer derby league of sorts with about twenty people on some nights. The object was to get any team member down first, any way possible. 2 blockers and 2 sprinters on a team. It was wild and crazy and people got into it, trying to figure out how to make the sleds faster and some people coming out with hockey pads and helmets.

On one night that was pretty icy so we decided to clock how fast we were going by having the truck follow the last person. They clocked at about 35 miles per hour which I think is pretty nutz for a bunch of adults carreening down the road on kids sleds.

I found that a telling moment. See, ultimately what you represent is not conservatism. Heck, I suspect that somewhere, Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan are spinning like helicopter rotors at the very idea.

No, you represent the latest iteration of an anti-intellectualism that periodically rises in the American character.

More to the point, something is wrong when we celebrate mental mediocrity like yours under the misapprehension that competence or, God forbid, intelligence, makes a person one of those ``elites'' -- that's a curse word now -- lacking authenticity, compassion and common sense.

Heh, check my rant here.

You'd have to be able to hit the 'save' button before the primaries then when the whole thing is over 'reload' to your previously saved game and remove Palin as a character in the options menu.

Republican plan to outlaw money (no, it's not the Onion)....
Bill would ban federal currency in SC

South Carolina will no longer recognize U.S. currency as legal tender, if State Rep. Mike Pitts has his way.

Pitts, a fourth-term Republican from Laurens, introduced legislation earlier this month that would ban what he calls “the unconstitutional substitution of Federal Reserve Notes for silver and gold coin” in South Carolina.

If the bill were to become law, South Carolina would no longer accept or use anything other than silver and gold coins as a form of payment for any debt, meaning paper money would be out in the Palmetto State.

Pitts said the intent of the bill is to give South Carolina the ability to “function through gold and silver coinage” and give the state a “base of currency” in the event of a complete implosion of the U.S. economic system.

I take a radically different view. I mostly think the United States is a pretty damn good place, though not perfect by any means. I think it can and has been a force for good but I expect results from the guy we hire. Period. There is no way we should be Saudi Arabia's or Israel's or China's bitch. Unfortunately, over the last 20 years since the fall of communism we've been on a downhill slide. I'll give Clinton credit for Bosnia/Kosovo.
