Friday Night Music: O’Connor, Pattituci, and Lage
Tonight’s musical main course: some crazy-ass gypsy swing from Mark O’Connor (violin), John Patitucci (bass) and Julian Lage (guitar). Django would have liked it.

Stephen Baldwin on Obama: ‘Homey Made His Bed’
And one of the people leading the youth charge is Stephen Baldwin. One of the famous Baldwin brothers, Baldwin hosts a conservative radio show and has enlisted himself in the youth recruitment effort. Baldwin told our Jonathan Karl that he blames Obama for the state of the country, but also prays for him.“I am not happy about the way things are. I pray for President Obama every single day. But tell you what. Homey made this bed, now he has got to lay in it,” said Baldwin.
When we asked Baldwin to clarify that he did in fact mean Obama when he said “homey” Baldwin stuck by his words. “That is correct,” he said.
Baldwin introduced the XPac 2010 lounge at CPAC

Scary. Btw - has there been any noticeable backlash at all to Scott Brown’s comments on the domestic terrorist attack yesterday? Normally I’d expect major fallout from those disgusting comments. But with the current climate in the US, I’m guessing it probably didn’t raise too many eyebrows?
the comments were only as disgusting as you twist them around to be…I didn’t think it was such a big deal, but if you have the derangement syndrome then anything is possible

What exactly was disgusting about Brown’s comments?

I figure it should be safe because it on their blip tv page instead of the version hosted on the Birch Society site.
The end of the interview is pretty interesting. Lots of stuff about the Rockefellers and the conspiracy to establish a one world government.

There was a mojor flip out over Bill Maher making a Sept. 11 joke too soon. I don’t know why CPAC gets a pass making jokes about blowing up the IRS building.

That was a pretty tasteless comment, although nowhere near Maher’s. I’m very surprised at the crickets over it to date.

What did he say? Was it worse than the guy who introduced Grover Norquist at CPAC?

Un Fucking Believable.
You two don’t see any big problem with describing an act of terrorism in which a plane is flown into a public building as an expression of popular frustration, and using it to make a political point about how ‘Washington must do better’?
In that case, as Penn would say - go fuck yourselves right in the fucking neck.
Terrorist acts need to be condemned, not excused or used for some incredibly dubious political point scoring. Comments like yours together with the general lack of outrage over Brown’s remarks tell me that America’s moral compass is becoming dangerously fucked.

Wingnut idiocy of the lowest water.
Examples of ODS : endless trite carping about Obama’s choice of lunch items, the way he allegedly bowed to someone or other, he farted, he had a pants tent…or the fantastical paranoid conviction that he wants to destroy America as a prelude to setting up some socialist utopia.
To suggest that being disgusted with Brown’s statements about the incident in question is in any way comparable with that sort of crap is just moronic in the extreme.
How would you have felt if a terrorist act was committed by Islamists on US soil, and Obama responded that day by saying that people in Islamic countries felt frustrated and that America had to do better?
Your brain is broken, your moral compass is fucked.
Get. Medicine.

I’d argue that the reverse happened: Obama apologized to the Islamic world in Cairo and promised that America would straighten up. Then came two Muslim terrorist attacks on our soil, one deadly.
(Not sneaking, just late; hope someone will direct you back down here.)
