Alex Jones on Fox News At Last

Fox News and the right wing kookosphere have been gradually bringing insane 9/11 Truther Alex Jones into the mainstream for the past year. Judge Andrew Napolitano has been one of the most persistent; he introduced Jones on his Fox News webcast as “the one, the only, the great Alex Jones.” GOP Rep. Ron Paul has a regular feature on Jones’ conspiracy radio show. And Jones now has a permanent link to his site infowars.com at Drudge Report.

Well, last night Fox News finally stopped tiptoeing around and put Jones on Geraldo Rivera’s mindless show, to ask him if the shooting spree by right wing extremist John Patrick Bedell will “stick to the 9/11 Truther people.” The idiocy. It burns.

Jones complained that people “demonize” 9/11 Truthers, which is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever heard. They’re self-demonizing.

When will people stop giving this batshit insane whackjob a spotlight? It was bad enough when his crazy was confined to the airwaves here in Austin. Having his crazy mainstreamed across the country is that much worse.

'Levitate the Mint'?

Anti-war protesters put a cap on their second day of rallies and marches during the Democratic National Convention Monday with a decidedly unconventional stop outside the Denver Mint. The event, which was organized by umbrella protest group Recreate 68, drew a small crowd of about 50 people armed with “magic mojo” they hoped would enable them to levitate the Mint building to shake out its loose change using nothing but the collective power of their minds.

Jones complained that people “demonize” 9/11 Truthers, which is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever heard. They’re self-demonizing.

Well that's just Alex, being Alex...What’s happened to the editors over at Newsmax…someone musta been in the rest room when this went to print…?

Psychoanalyst and philosopher G. Heath King says conservative commentators Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are unhealthy outlets for citizen anger.

Polarization is a vital part of our political tradition, the former Yale instructor told Newsmax.TV. “We were born from a revolution,” he pointed out. “We also have to learn that in a crisis situation there has to be a willingness to find a consensus. That’s what we have to learn right now.”

Limbaugh and Beck “lower the level of the dialogue when they utilize fear and anger to that extent,” King said. “What would be good is to bring that level up to the tradition of conservative thought.”

He cited economists Milton Friedman and Friedrich von Hayek and journalist William Buckley as examples. “Review their thinking and bring that level up higher, rather than going on an emotional merry-go-round as Beck and Rush Limbaugh do.”

Hehehe…Newsmax; nothing but the very best, no less…!

As much as I'd like to believe that Alex Jones finally being mainstreamed by Fox News could shake some sense into some people on the right, I seriously doubt it. The GOP, conservatives, and rabid crazy right-wingers are pretty much hip-deep at this point, especially in the ODS department...

Completely agree. Remember, conservatism can never fail, it can only be failed. So when anyone or anything conservative fails, the answer is always "Oh, but he/she/it wasn't really conservative after all".
