Video: Debunking Monckton, Part 1

Environment • Views: 2,500

Earlier I posted about Sarah Palin’s statement that global warming is “snake oil science over there,” but environmentalist Peter Sinclair’s new video takes a close look at one of the true snake oil salesmen of the climate denial circuit, Christopher Monckton, 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley and total quack.

Mitt Romney Wins GOP Presidential Straw Poll

By a single vote, Mitt Romney won the straw poll at the Southern Republican Leadership conference here Saturday in a victory that will be taken as a sign of the former Massachusetts governor’s strength as a 2012 presidential candidate. That’s because the 2008 GOP presidential hopeful elected to skip the conference to continue his book tour.

Romney just triumphed over Ron Paul, who took second place, 439 votes to 438. Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich tied for third with 18 percent of the vote each.

This kind of story makes me want to become stupid like the followers of the deniers; the deniers themselves are smart; they know where their bread is buttered. I just want to either scream and quit my job, and protest holding a sign like “The End is Near” character from so many New Yorker cartoons, or just get wasted and bury my head. That’s all I have to say about that….

Mitt Romney Wins GOP Presidential Straw Poll

He’s still the only potential 2012 GOP candidate (with the possible exception of Newt) that I would feel comfortable about having control of our nuclear weapons codes. Not that this makes up for him being a flip-flopping, pandering, phony.

So for all of The Sarahs latching onto populist ignorance hot buttons, she comes in third, eh?

If the SRLC attendees settled on Mitt, that tells me the movers and shakers know the the woman is unelectable.

It will be interesting to watch the GOP elites (oops…) try to convince the hoi polloi of that.

Can you find a politician who isn’t?

Mitt Romney Wins GOP Presidential Straw Poll

If Romney (unelectable) came in first in the straw poll, with Paul (unelectable) second and Palin and Gingrich (unelectable and unelectabler) tying with 18% each, what’s that sound of gunfire I hear?

Oh, wait…Champagne corks popping in the White House.

Can you find a politician who isn’t?

Agreed. I should have added the words “Blatantly Obvious” to my description of Mitt as a flip-flopping, pandering, phony. He’s certainly worse than most politicians in this fault. How do you hide all his reversals of policy in the face of the GOP nomination process? At least someone like Huckabee isn’t lying when they say they oppose gay rights and universal healthcare. Romney was all for these things before he was against them.

Romney winning is a clear sign they love socialized healthcare.

Why else would they keep suggesting people go to the ER?

Should I be frightened by how well Ron Paul did? I know it’s just a straw poll and all, but still.

re: #12 JasonA

Ron Paul used to do well here, too.

It’s a property of the physical universe that the scientists can’t quite explain well, yet, but there is something like a Paulian Attractor that polls emit, by which the poll captures stray voters.

Wow, the Paulians are slipping! They used to be the champions of poll spamming.

No…his supporters know how to rig the polls. He won most of the polls leading up to the primaries then barely registered on the actual vote counts.

But, but, but, it is “Lord” Monckton…how can you possibly dis-believe anything that a knighted English Lord says? That is it, it is game over for AGW, if an actually English Lord says that it is bunk then I have to believe it. Don’t I?…

/perhaps not have peerage in this country really is a good idea. ;)

28 Mad Prophet Ludwig  Sat, Apr 10, 2010 8:59:37pm

This is a fantastic start into the whacky world of Lord Monkton.

Here he is claiming that Obama is out to create a one world government, cede American wealth and do all that sort of socialist conspiracy theory stuff.

Monkton is playing to every insane teabag meme there is.

But lord inbred - I mean seriously, if you want to know why consanguinity of aristocracy is a bad thing, just look at him - is a LORD. All good Americans like their proper British masters who by title and dint of birth are inherently superior.
