Charlie Crist Way Ahead in Polls

Politics • Views: 2,988

Good work, teabaggers! Due to your support for creationist far right candidate Marco Rubio in Florida, Charlie Crist’s poll numbers are soaring.

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist has widened his lead in the three-way race for the state’s next senator, a new poll conducted for the state Chamber of Commerce finds (June 9-13, 607 LV, MoE +/- 4%). Crist, running as an independent, leads Republican Marco Rubio by 11 points with Democrat Kendrick Meek treading in the low teens.

Crist 42
Rubio 31
Meek 14

Does this mean the GOP is going to get their very own Joe Liberman? Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving bunch of guys!

This is sufficient evidence that there is still sanity in America. But crist is still only the lesser of two evils.

3 Soap_Man  Tue, Jun 22, 2010 9:58:14am

Anybody from Florida want to weigh in? I know that the oil spill hasn’t hit Florida much, but he has been all over it and looking like, well, a leader.

4 Lidane  Tue, Jun 22, 2010 10:00:03am

I won’t pretend to know anything about Florida politics, but anything that sends that douche Rubio packing sounds like a good thing to me.

It’s the evil of two lessers. And it’s the situation this nation has been facing for years now - not just at the national or even the state house level. People just don’t have good candidates from which to choose.

9 RogueOne  Tue, Jun 22, 2010 10:07:50am

IMO, any poll with a margin of error at +/- 4 = almost worthless. It’s a question of how many independents will Crist manage to get to vote and if dems will crossover and screw Meek. I don’t see it happening. Crist may be getting a bump due to the oil spill but I, again, don’t see that being the primary issue come November.

Why is there no one sitting in Helen Thomas center seat at the WH presser today? There is nobody worthy of the Center seat in DC?
Are they holding the seat in mourning or what?

15 albusteve  Tue, Jun 22, 2010 10:15:20am

No decent candidates for President?

the entire blurb…

Let’s face it. No one in their right mind wants to be President because the press will make your life a nightmare. The press makes it impossible for good candidates to run because of the horrible and unfair scrutiny it places upon a person and his entire family. Only people with the most bland personalities and lifestyles can possibly survive the relentless attacks from the press.

Once a President is in office, the modern press makes it impossible for him to do his job. Imagine if, during the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis, the press decided to print stories of JFK’s marital infidelities with Marilyn Monroe? Can you imagine how such a huge distraction might have caused that chapter in history to go terribly, terribly wrong?

How about Clinton? How could he perform his duties with the press micro-analyzing everything? Imagine the thousands of hours Clinton had to waste on this, rather than combatting terrorism.

What can we do to make the press more responsible?

It’s also interesting to see the RCP average on the sidebar for Obama…
President Obama Job Approval

Disapprove
46.7

It seems every day the wingnuts are crowing about Obama’s tanking poll numbers.

The article reeks of insubordination and disdain for the President and civilian advisers in the Administration. It’s the kind of thing that should be a firing offense - or aired after you resign. Not before.

But people should have seen the writing on the wall with McChrystal - that he didn’t run a tight ship and that he aired his personal opinions early and often even at inopportune moments. He also had an opportunity to refute the claims in the Rolling Stone article but didn’t have any objections.

I’d say he should be gone and it’s not like his body of work is all that stellar. The problem is who’d come in to replace him and can they get the job done and fulfill the President’s mission and goals.
