Media Matters: The Worst of Pamela Geller

Wingnuts • Views: 4,662

One of the easiest things to do on the Interwebs is to find quotes from right wing “Atlas Shrugs” blogger Pamela Geller illustrating how completely bugeyed nuts she is. She doesn’t hide anything. She waves her freak flag high. And that flag is very freaky indeed.

But for some bizarre reason (a commentary on how far gone the right wing media and blogosphere are), Geller actually gets interviewed as some kind of “expert” by network media, who don’t seem to care at all about her in-your-face bigotry, associations with extremist groups, advocation of Birther conspiracy theories, support for white supremacists, etc., etc.

Media Matters has compiled a 3,000-word post with dozens of examples of Geller’s “shrieking harpy” rants, but they’re only beginning to scratch the surface of the crazy: Memo to media: Pamela Geller does not belong on national television.

I titled this “The Worst of Pamela Geller,” but the truth is that Media Matters missed a lot of repulsive and insane stuff; their piece could have been twice as long without running out of material. For more of the shrieking harpy’s exploits: LGF search: “Pamela Geller”.

Geller is as much an expert on extremism as Jenny McCarthy is on vaccinations.

Wow, that's quite a compilation. May I state for the record that Elena Kagan manages look look cute even while wearing a photoshopped Nazi helmet?

Why Joy Behar lets Pamela Geller on her show is beyond me. I guess she wants to do what Charles has been doing for a while, get this weird bitch out in the open for all to see how much of a deranged creep she is.

That is hilarious. A Google search on "Shrieking Harpy" returns in Atlas Shrugs as the first site.

There's a post about Geller at Daily Kos too, with a bunch of quotes misattributed to Loonwatch that were actually written by me, followed by a cheap shot at LGF: Daily Kos: MSNBC: Markos is not welcome, but racist crackpot Pamela Geller is.

This is why even the right-wing nutters at Little Green Footballs refer to Geller as the "Poster Girl for Eurofascists".

If anyone has an account at DK, would you please let them know that the majority of the quotes in that article actually originated from this "right wing nutter" right here?

Er... you probably already know this, but, just in case. Loonwatch has a picture of geller on the blog entry they have, and it is a picture of her in a white tee shirt with little green footballs and a lizard printed on it.

Geller posted that picture at her blog when she came in ahead of LGF in Wizbang's silly Internet poll. It was intended as a middle finger to me.

I'm curious, I've spoken to people I know who are strong supporters of Gellar, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and the Conservative/Libertarian movement. When I mention that I like this blog, they immediately get upset at me for supporting a "twisted, left wing blog" that might as well be a mouthpiece for the Democratic party.

When I tell them LGF is neither right wing nor left wing they laugh, arguing that any entity that mocks the right as much as they do MUST be left wing.

This seems to be a pretty moderate blog to me, why has it been suddenly labeled as a left wing site?

By the way and for the record, I was away when the Kagan as Nazi post was covered here the first time. It's a good thing.

There is perhaps no insult more vile than could be directed at a Jew. It's just pure evil and an attempt to pour salt in wounds for no reason other than to be viscous.

You don't cal Jews Nazis just because you don't like them. You don't call blacks slavers or mock Native Americans with references to Wounded Knee.

That Geller, also, I am so very sorry to admit is a Jew, could go for such a thing appalls beyond compare. I was under the impression that RSM made that Photoshop, but it doesn't really matter.

That is as, if not more, racist and insulting that the Obama witch Doctor sign. It is offensive beyond compare, and if I saw some asshole with such a poster, I would very challenged to not express my free speech in way that left him without teeth.

Crazy Pam was almost on Hardball tonight....
Atlas TV Alert: Hardball Tonight UPDATE: HARDBALL CANCELS

UPDATE: lol. Hardball canceled. It's a funny story. The producer calls me to do a pre-show interview where they review what your position is. So they ask me what SIOA is. I said, "SIOA is a human rights organization dedicated to freedom of speech, religious liberty and individual rights, no special rights for special classes.

So she said, "what do you mean? How is America being islamicized?"

So I went into the mosqueing of the workplace, how unions are imposing prayer times and lengthening the work to accommodate Muslim prayer (imposed on non-Muslims). I added the introduction of Muslim prayer for Muslim students in public schools and taxpayer-funded sharia (Islamic) finance."

She stopped me dead, right there. And said angrily, How so?!

And I cited the case of the US Treasury department giving seminars in sharia finance right after Obama nationalized the bank. At that moment she said, "hold on!" And put me on hold for quite some time.

She then came back and said, "Uh, I have to call you back. I have another call."

I laughed and said, "ok."

A half-hour layer I got a call from Querry Robinson, Producer for Hardball, who canceled me. No explanation.

Because Charles speaks his mind, and has distanced himself from some less savory elements on the rise on the right. And because liberals get to speak up here, and not get called horrible names.

Same reasons, I would think, that people thought this was a right-wing blog before.

I always found LGF to be what Charles' bills it as - anti-idiotarian - rather than left-wing or right-wing.

Dude, you are my hero. I have the sensibilities of a 12 year old. Dick jokes NEVER get old.

I just wish my penis would stay 19 forever.

Now, they're elected into Congress.

When I was a kickboxing coach I dealt with a lot of the kickboxers (who were mostly from south-east asia) performing rituals involving livestock slaughtering. They wanted to do it in the gym. I said no. I said I didn't even want to know about it. But that I'd take any drumsticks, bacon, or steaks that resulted, as a wai kru gift.

Historic fun fact: Ninjas never wore the "traditional" ninja garb. Its a western pop culture invention.

All these fun facts are harshing my buzz..

Whats Facts got to do with it?
Got to do with it?
What's facts..
but a second hand emotion....

voodoun dolls were used for positive, not negative, sympathetic magic

the talmud also makes a distinction between magic spells for good (approved of) and evil (not approved of), e.g.:

"In Pesahim 112b, we read that one afflicted with an ocular disease should recitethe word shabriri (blindness) repeatedly in the phrase "My mother has cautioned me against shabriri. With each repetition, the speaker should reduce one letter from the word: shabriri, shabrir, shabri, shabr, shab, sha… The magical ritual of reducing the word is intended to yield a parallel reduction in the severity of the illness...

...to fend off an evil water spirit, the Talmud recommends intoning this: "Lulshafan anigeron anirdafon, I dwell among the stars, I walk among thin and fat people (Pesahim 112a)." While the second clause of this spell is strange enough, the first clause of the spell is neither Hebrew nor Aramaic; by all indications it is just gibberish. This feature, common to Greco-Roman magic, emerges in Jewish circles in late antiquity."

Cross-posting your comment. Honestly, you should try to do a guest-post exchange with Markos as it might clear up some of the misunderstanding between the two sites. There are several people there who actually defend LGF these days. (which is part of the reason I came here last winter and ended up joining).

Saw your post there - and it appears that there's someone from one of the stalker blogs signed up there as well who posted a snarky reply.

LOL. Y'know, I hadn't even thought of or used the word scimitar in years. I guess it must've been some of the ridiculous caricatures I've read since I've been here (not from Lizards, but from the subjects of articles) that made me feel like I'm supposed to be carrying one if I'm gonna play my part correctly.

BTW, I finally got around to emailing you. Sorry I took so long.

I answered, but getting you the titles you're interested in may take me a few days.

I guess I'm a right wing nutter now since I go to DKOS maybe once a week and here way to many times a day.

I guess I am too since I spend so much time here. Can someone hand me a Xanax or something? I seem to be experiencing an especially bad case of cognitive dissonance.

You seriously didn't know that those of us who sound convincingly left are just in training to become infiltrators of the loons?

I think you're in a heap of trouble. The doors are sealed, and the windows barred. You have nowhere to go.

In my opinion, the reason Geller gets so much time is that she makes the other RW crazies seem almost sane by comparison.

Is she just a dumbed down version of Coulter?

re: #24 scogind

Didn't matter who Obama associated with, now did it?

No, it did matter. Obama may have won the election, but his associations became an issue. He had to explain them, in some cases giving entire speeches dedicated to defusing the fallout over people like Rev. Wright.

And it probably cost him some votes from people who saw any connection to Ayers or Wright as a dealbreaker.

But this overall issue has been litigated. It was called the 2008 election. And the country as a whole decided his associations weren't a dealbreaker. This is a dead end for 2012. Obama's questionable acquaintances will be four years more into the past. And Obama hardly seems like he's taking any cues from the likes of Ayers or Rev Wright.

Because the reactions, once folks like you find out that they've really joined "Fight Club" without knowing it, are usually so adorable.
