Dan Riehl Rides to Andrew Breitbart’s Defense

The dim bulbs of the right wing blogosphere are working hard to throw up (and I mean that literally) a thick coating of BS as cover for Andrew Breitbart. It’s a perfect storm of willful denial, and totally expected.

Earlier we took note of hateblogger Jim Hoft, who didn’t even slow down when the full video of Shirley Sherrod’s speech was released; he just kept the smears going as if nothing had happened.

Now sub-subgenius Dan Riehl joins Pat Buchanan as a contributor to right wing site Human Events, weighing in on this important issue with the wisdom for which he’s famous.

To his credit, Dan actually seems to foggily realize something happened, even if he doesn’t know what it is (apologies to Dylan). So he springs into action by parroting all the excuses Breitbart has been making for himself the past few days: In Defense of Andrew Breitbart - HUMAN EVENTS.

If you’ve been paying attention to Breitbart’s clumsy fumbling around for talking points, none of this is new: the audience was laughing (they weren’t), Sherrod really is a racist (she isn’t), Sherrod really is a Marxist (snort), Andrew Breitbart deserves a medal for exposing the reverse racism of the blah blah blah *headdesk*.

Dan Riehl is an especially good spokesman for the right wing blogosphere in this one; he has experience with these issues. Just last year he related a tale of riding on a Washington DC Metro bus after the September 12 Tea Party demonstration; as he told it, Riehl encountered some “black kids” who were “talking loudly” with “poor diction,” dissing John McCain and praising President Obama. This caused Dan to drift off into a racial revenge reverie (imagine some harp glissandos here), in which he put a serious beat-down on these uppity youths who were messing with his tea-fueled buzz: Dan Riehl’s Imaginary Black Kid Beatdown.

Riding out of DC on the Metro, 9/12, there were some folks from South Dakota and also another Mid-West state I can’t recall in the same Metro car. We were talking, nothing special, really - politics, of course.

In the back were maybe ten or so black kids taking up that section of the car. There was no confrontation, just one or two of them talking loudly enough to make sure they’d be heard.

Without resorting to the poor diction it was along the lines of, these are the people who think Obama is the anti-Christ. That McCain he wasn’t chit. Obama’s going to be president as long as he wants, so these people better get used to it, etc. It went on but not really to a level that was so loud, or so confrontational that it needed to be addressed.

We just ignored them without much trouble at all.

Yeah, they were technically thugs. But the reality was they were still wannabes really, pretty young, not that big, or many. And if the several adults there for 9/12 actually needed to do something about it, the kids wouldn’t have lasted very long. Maybe if they were bigger, or more numerous, it might have been worse. Or it may not have happened at all. Who knows?

This is why there’s no better person to get out there in front of a right wing race-baiting scandal than Dan Riehl.

What's the scientific test for that?

12 Nimed  Thu, Jul 22, 2010 5:58:57pm

Dan Riehl also wrote a blog post a few months ago entitled "Isn't it time to Euthanize Harry Reid's wife?" (no link). This was after she and their daughter had a car accident. Reid's wife broke her back, his daugher broke her neck. Riehl:

Come on, Harry - do your civic duty. The nation's broke and counting on you guy. Pull the plug and get back to work. And don't bill us for a full day today, either. This is no time to be sloughing off. Air freight her home, you can bury her during recess on your own time and dime. Or are you going to bill us for that, too?

He was "making a point" about the health care bill.

Especially since Reagan, who pushed quite hard on the idea of contracting out jobs as opposed to hiring civil servants.

The problem with laying off civil servants in a recession is that action merely adds to the unemployment pool. If one changes the law so they can be laid off then one will (or should) make them eligible for unemployment benefits. So laying off a civil servant will only partially cut down on the payout but reduce any positive work they might have done.

In many cases those do go hand in hand. That's the problem is that if a position gets eliminated in one building, the Government is OBLIGED to find that person a job that's a similiar position elsewhere.

Any of those who've been in the service know what a Detailer is, they are the person who supposedly give you information about your next assignment, etc... Well the Civilian Mariner Detailers swap around like hotcakes, almost all of them never answer their phone or email. The Sherrod story gets more and more interesting:

"Sherrod's story is similar to those of many of the farmers who were denied loans commonly granted to white farmers, which was the reason for the initial Pigford suit and the initial settlement by the government.

But thousands of farmers missed the original Pigford deadline, due to shoddy work by their own lawyers and inadequate promotion, among other reasons. In response to a decades-long movement to re-open the Pigford class, Congress passed another $100 million in the 2008 farm bill to help settle new claims; earlier this year, the Obama administration announced an additional grant -- called Pigford II -- of $1.25 billion.

But the money hasn't been doled out, because Congress hasn't given the okay yet. It missed a March 31 deadline. Then a May 31 deadline. Currently, the money for the new Pigford settlement resides in the war supplemental -- which Majority Leader Harry Reid announced last Friday would be up for a vote some time this week."

73 LudwigVanQuixote  Thu, Jul 22, 2010 6:41:45pm

By the way and for the record,

I am not a Dem. I think they are weak, divided, generally incompetent and out for their own petty fiefdoms. I think that despite knowing what "right" is and what reason is, they are simply incapable of working towards it in a productive manner.

It is not that the Dems are liberal (in a meaningful sense of the word liberal, that might be recognized by actual liberals). Some are, but in general they are not. It is not that the Dems are all university educated Ivy league types. Some are, but most of those are political wonks. Some are limited by their ideologies as much as the GOP (particularly when it comes to foreign policy and defense) but most are not.

The problem is that, once in power, they all start taking care of themselves.

This makes them weak and frequently incompetent.

That said...

The GOP openly allies with the likes of Rush, and Breitbart, and Fox and an entire list of racist scum. The GOP rapes the environment while chuckling. Look at the clean air act of 2005. Look at the Haliburton loophole. The GOP allies openly with the forces of backwards religiosity and would love to enter your bedroom even as they get caught time and again with their peckers in the wrong place. The GOP openly scoffs at individual rights - especially if the people to be abused are brown or poor. The GOP is anti-science. It is an article of faith for them that evolution never happened and that AGW isn't real - despite what all the educated world knows to be true.

The AGW thing is the worst. Of all the things facing America and the world, that one really will take us all out. It is not that AGW is my "pet issue." AGW is not "my" cause. AGW is real, happening each day and will destroy our civilization. It is everyone's issue. Barring a meteor strike there is simply nothing more threatening. Even a limited nuclear exchange or pandemic would be less lethal and damaging in the long run.

But the GOP has convinced, for the sake of their corporate masters, vast masses of people that their isn't even a problem. They scuttled the climate bill that they worked so hard to water down to nothingness.

The GOP doesn't care about the people. They saw to it that Wall Street was bailed out but consider jobless Americans to be spoiled and did everything to kill the jobs bill - another one that they watered down to almost meaninglessness - and then blocked.

Let us not forget how much the GOP is racist - truly, and vilely racist. The Southern strategy is nothing new. The GOP came up with that after all. They are just taking it to a new level. These days, "the party of Lincoln" writes propaganda that Lincoln was a socialist.

So the short form is that the GOP is evil, morally bankrupt, plutocratic, callous, racist, ignorant and repulsive. The Dems are all we got.

G-d help us all.

re: #69 webevintage

Yup, I'm pretty sure that's what this is all about. I posted video of Steve King (R-acist) talking about that earlier. He think the claims were fraudulent and that black farmers were using the case to steal money from white people.

This is classic, and a classic in the wingnut fantasy genre I herewith dub Wolverines of Wingnuttia.

It involves detailed fantasies by wingnuts of the vicious beatings they would give liberals, Obama, Saul Alinsky, black people, Democrats, whoever. Typically involves a fantasy whereby the mighty, yet humble, wingnut is forced, forced, to 'defend' himself from the imaginary attack that no one was in fact making or about to make.

Examples also include fantasy retellings of actual incidents where the wingnut was in some way humiliated, only this time the wingnut 'wins' by losing.

The flip side, indulged in by many a whiny moonbat I have known, involves a fantasy of being the victim of a hate crime that 'only' didn't happen due to incredible fortune, or the street-savvy cleverness of the soi-disant victim.

There is some overlap, of course.

Here's an interesting and relevant difference: the moonbat version involves avoiding violence, not being 'forced' to engage in it.

Well, the wingnuts are especially prone to imagining a 'need' to overthrow the gubbmint, civil war, etc right now.

The common thread would be the desire to be victims, or be thought of as victims, and thereby (??) appropriate some special moral status.

Interestingly, the very very extreme tip of the moonbat reaction is those women who live in rural communes armed to the teeth. Which, of course, comes full circle to approach the wingnut militia phenom.

Some friends of mine almost moved to one of those places once, but then they had a son.

i have enough trouble just beating back the fantasy straw man "liberal" that appears magically every time one engages a wingnut who never met an actual progressive. some actual genuine frontier gibberish from today:

"Progressives, like Liberals, want the Government to take care of everything and everybody. Unfortunately, that is not what any of the founders of our country envisioned. Again, if you want more government services move to Canada or any number of the Western European countries.

Are you not for more government? Do you like that the government is going to take over health care, the banking system, private corporations, and any other private entity they can get their hands on. Again, your just a New York liberal and simply won't admit it. Progressive my arse!"

Much like the Koskidz were during the Bush years.

I did some of the same frothing in the Bush years, but I thought he was a terrible president. Still do, in fact. I did support the Iraq war way after others gave up on it.

But yea, Hanson's "solutions" are all fine and dandy if you believe in them, which I don't. But even so, he doesn't give any way to make them happen. He has more questions than answers.

Wow, i did not know about that. Dunno who they are. This is hilarious though:

A few years ago, Dr. Paul Vitz, then professor of psychology at New York University, worked with a committee that examined sixty social studies and history textbooks used in public schools across the United States. The committee was amazed to find that almost every reference to the Christian influence of early America was systematically removed. Their conclusion: the writers of the commonly used textbooks exhibited paranoia of the Christian religion and intentionally censored Christianity's positive role in American history.

So: if it had been in the textbooks, that would 'prove' America was founded as a Christian nation.
Since it's not in the textbooks, we can still conclude America was founded as a Christian nation.

So much more fun and simple when you always know the conclusion of your argument regardless of the premises!

Ya know, this story has just been absolutely fascinating to watch, not so much because of the story but because of why THIS ONE is the one that's pulled the curtain back. Not that I'm complaining, but this campaign has been going on since the primaries right before our very eyes...

I mean, remember the "whitey" video? Birtherism is in this vein, Jeremiah Wright had tinges of this element, Palin's charge of "pallin' around with terrorists" or "he doesn't see American like you and I see America". Sean Hannity has been calling the guy a "radical" (*wink wink*) since Obama first popped up on the scene, and the whole narrative of Michelle being an "angry black woman" or the outrage behind her being proud of her country "for the first time"...ACORN, Van Jones, and Sgt Crowley have been getting all the pub, but this race baiting has been a pattern going back to the very beginning of Obama's rise

An epic liar and an idiot as well. He actually thought he was being all incognito by using the name 'Batman' on one of the stalker blogs to post his screenshots of his LGF meltdown- only his name on the top his posts were in green. D'oh!

The best illustration of his utter dishonesty, projection and malevolence though is right here - first his screen capture of his last comment on his meltdown thread:

As I said jimmah, I won't respond to your lies and trolling. I am simply noting the ongoing behaviour by you and Iceweasel. Trying to connect me with these alleged "stalkers" is more offensive behaviour, typical of you and iceweasel. You are projecting talking about me and ryannon as "freaks and stalkers". You and Iceweasel are both freaks and stalker.

I am through talking to you.

HEALTH CARE

Health care in Tennessee is a joke. I believe the doctors in Tennessee should practice preventive medicine. We need to be tested for all possibilities so we do not have to have an expensive medical procedure because the problem was not caught in time. I think insurance companies should bid on all parts of health insurance. So we can get the best price and service possible. There should be CAPS on all medical procedures. That way it does not matter where you for medical care or treatment the price is the same. There needs to be a doctor rating system. Based on performance, education, malpractice suites and years of experience. So the patient knows what kind of doctor and service they will be getting. (I would like to know)We also need to do something about emergency room junkies. While they are faking to be sick so they can get their high, there are people who are really sick and hurt waiting for the beds that the junkies are in. We need to find a way to stop this from happening.

That's worthy of a Palin endorsement.

That was clearly his goal - as well as, of course, turning the LGF clock back to 2004, or failing that creating an atmosphere in which the kind of people LGF needs just didn't want to post.

Yes I am... missed some of the excitement here since I've had to substitute on overnight shifts this week for the full time overnight cashier who is on vacation. I don't mind the cashier work overnight, or the 8 hour shift, but I have to stock too, can't stand that... just one more night, tonight, in a few minutes, then back to my 20 hour weeks.

Shadow of the Beast and Bard's Tale were such great games!

So you had an Atari AND an Amiga, you lucky bastard. There were bitter discussions over which system was best, you know?

yes :D Well, I got the Atari myself, basically just saved up for it and worked summer jobs (under the table of course, hah) to pay for it when I was 13, and the Amiga we got much later when they were cheap. The Amiga obviously had more graphics horsepower, but the ST was my sentimental favorite. I preferred the interface of the ST and its MIDI ports.

re: #264 windsagio

Well let me rephrase. I just don't think it was a plan from a front, but rather he (along with a few others I can think of, lolwitchhunt) never left contact with his old friends. Once he was done, he did his bit, but it was hardly some deep plan.

... is it bad of us to be discussing this? 'cuz its mad interesting!

It's only relevant to refute the lie that there was ever anything 'personal' about his attacks on myself or Jimmah, or that he was banned 'for being mean to some people'.

Fucking liar, troll, hater, who was out to cause as much damage as he possibly could to the blog. And not incidentally to Charles.

No. Bagua had shitloads of hostility against others here, especially Ludwig, especially Charles. Attacking me was the easiest way for him to vent that, since he is, in proven fact now, a misogynistic little creep who was too scared to attack LVQ again (until now) or in fact any of the men here in the same way.

Some people called it long ago. Some people scrolled over the fighting, reasonably.

And some people cheered him on and would still defend him if they could. Most of em are over at the griefhole now.

That's the only reason why it's relevant. So that people know what the real deal was and has always been. Deranged hater who got worse over time and who the fuck knows why?

Meh. Doesn't deserve a page and they crave attention. But the record should be clear for all those innocent folks who didn't know what he was about.

It's still a bit shocking to see so many faces I used to shoot the shit with up on the Wall of Shame. I sometimes wonder if, had I not gone into lurking for so long, my name might also be up there, either by getting caught up in defense of one of my ol' buddies or simply getting worked up over so many good people gone.

I know how you feel. I actually almost wound up on that wall myself because I couldn't accept who one of them really was. I kept wanting to see him as a good person, and I nearly lost my account for good over it. In Bagua's case, it's easier. He'd gone on anti-iceweasel tirades before, so this wasn't a shock. My shame is that I tried to stay neutral; The right thing would have been to hold him to account.

Really, the whole concept of a "stalker blog" always hit me as some sort of hybrid between a teenage girl gossip clutch and a test group in a college psych experiment.

371 Targetpractice  Thu, Jul 22, 2010 8:30:34pm

re: #324 Dark_Falcon

I know how you feel. I actually almost wound up on that wall myself because I couldn't accept who one of them really was. I kept wanting to see him as a good person, and I nearly lost my account for good over it. In Bagua's case, it's easier. He'd gone on anti-iceweasel tirades before, so this wasn't a shock. My shame is that I tried to stay neutral; The right thing would have been to hold him to account.

Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa, Mea Maxima Culpa.

Don't beat yourself up over, friend. I found the best way to look at is that they're not on that Wall by accident, they did something to earn their dishonor. Does that mean I miss them any less? Certainly not, because we had some good times and we shared some memories. But if you sit there and obsess over not seeing the signs or not speaking up, then you might one day find yourself up on that Wall too.

That's really the only advice I can offer, that you didn't put them up on that Wall, they did it to themselves. Just like alcoholic or a drug addict, you can't control their actions, only they can. You can't help somebody who won't first acknowledge they have a problem.

re: #362 Floral Giraffe

It was at the end of an overnight thread. Not last nights, but the night before, or the one before that. Charles had given ( IMHO MORE than fair warning), then Bagua got the stick, for not listening to Charles.
Others here, say he's already at a stalker blog. I haven't looked, and don't care. Sorry that I thought he was a good guy. I'll miss what I thought he was.

Perhaps someday SpaceJesus will descend into the pit, and lead them all out. Before that, it gets ugly.

Yes. He posted there, and Rodan bragged about the whole thing on his "Diary of Dorkus".

Also, from an earlier thread -- while trying to maintain anonymity, he sent to the fan club a bunch of screenshots in which the "Bagua" comments were colored green. That wasn't very bright of him. :p

375 Kefirah  Thu, Jul 22, 2010 8:32:23pm

the troll is dead, long live the troll.

trolls are always drawn to the flame of open discourse, by nature of its very openness. there is both bait [statements with which they disagree] and opportunity to present their troll-ish, slime.bedecked views. frankly, we probably all ought to take it as a badge of honor that little green footballs time and again draws that sort of attack.

means that the phenomenal posters here, and charles, are doing a bang.up job.

thanks to charles for letting us all speak freely [until such a time as said slime becomes encrusted and such, rendering the speaker a swamp thing worthy of banning].

Oh yeah, bagsy wasnt clever enough to do anything like that - he just randomly acted out when his rageball flareup occured. But at a certain point he knew what he was doing and made a conscious decision to pursue it. He lied blatantly about you every chance he got and called you every horrible name he could. I think his goal became to cause as much unpleasantness as possible and persuade others that you were the cause of it. I really think he deluded himself into thinking that Charles was buying his act.

Since we're doing this -- I'm usually pretty reticent at attributing malicious motives to people. That said, there were 2 moments in which even I went "hmmm": when he showed up at the end of the "streetwalker" thread and said this, and his absurd defense of that Van Helsing dude after he trolled an entire comment section.

I think Bagua had the totally opposite effect from what he hoped. I think he really made us pull together as a community and examine some issues that have been lurking under the surface. Hopefully the silver lining from this is a healthier, happier community.

On that note, I think I'll get some sleep. Watch out for each other.

You know what, that might be another roll you're uniquely suited for. It seems like sides are chosen in personal conflicts here largely along party lines; which is pretty natural. But you have a lot of respect here from just about everyone, and you saying "You know what guys |Whoever| is seriously pushing this thing" could really help defuse situations.

I'll try it, and see if I can integrate that role it my persona.

That would be nice.

That was one of Bagua's concerns as well. So that he couldn't be called on anything he'd ever said before. Cute huh?

This is why we are talking about it now - so that people understand what actually happened and the lies he is telling on the staker blogs are countered. The fact is that this deranged person is now lying his face off on the stalker blogs about the circumstances of his banning and about this site generally.

I'm "conservative" in that I live a conservative life; I have what people think of as conservative values for how I wish to live.

And I am perfectly happy for everyone to have the freedom to live as conservatively or as liberally as they like.

We may end up with differences in how that is accomplished through use of government and laws. But the end result, is I want to be free enough (and have the means) to live the way I think it's important to live, and others should be just as free to do it their way.

[Link: www.foxnews.com...]

Yeah, Coulter started floating that excuse once it became obvious that the full tape existed and Andy got caught red-handed. It seems like it's gonna be the popular defense now amongst his supporters, that he's as much a "victim" for being duped by the mysterious and shadowy "editor" from whom he got the initial version of the tape.

It's utter horseshit, since if there were any truth to it, Breitbart would have rolled on his "source" almost as soon as it became obvious that the jig was up. That he keeps trying to spin his way out makes it obvious that he either edited the tape himself or had somebody he trusted edit it to his satisfaction before releasing it. I'm sort of confused as to why nobody has taken the time to call up the company that shot the film and provided the uncut version to the NAACP to ask them who else has received copies. I'm pretty sure they must keep some record of who all has received copies and if any requests were filled in the days leading up to Breitbart's "discovery" and blog post.

She was alluding to your corresponding lack of outrage over -and in fact support of those who made disgusting attacks made on her recently. I see you get an upding for that from one of those responsible for them. How fitting.

For better or worse, nasty insults and relentless baiting of fellow lizards has become all too common here and I was pointing out that I thought the feud mentality over a personal insult was childish. I do not approve of petty squabbling, baiting and gross insults and I wish we could just discuss and disagree on the issues here without the use of such demeaning tactics. When it does happen, people should try to move on quickly and not allow it to develop into some kind of festering grudge.

520 LudwigVanQuixote  Thu, Jul 22, 2010 9:22:14pm

What burns me - well not so much - but what bruns me is that I had to be busy when everyone else started talking about one of my least favorite posters.

I'll just be upfront. I never cared (understatement) for his passive aggressive word games or his distortions of science when he tried his denier stint about AGW. I used to call his style of debate the douchebagua two step. He would come out with some outrageous statement laced with an insult or two - a snarky left-handed one - and then shift goal posts, nitpic and occasionally just lie about facts.

He finally got proven so wrong so often (and Charles yelled at him enough about it) that he dropped those memes. That and Charles was a micrometer from banning him then. So he gave up sparring with me and went to attacking Ice.

He was always a sniveler and a little cypher of a man. It was like the little mean kid trying to play the schoolyard politics by attaching himself to larger bullies - and then he would always whine about how reasonable he was. He would always run to the teacher after starting a fight.

Just a little wuss really.

I'll give him credit for some of the useful stuff he posted about the spill, but the guy was an asshole and I always knew it.

In the particular case Jimmah referred to, yes, it is indeed a grudge. There is a history of unpleasantness. There was an insult, an unanswered demand for an apology and then a festering grudge which resulted in a demand not to communicate.
Many get called names, insulted and downdinged regularly around here, but most try not to hold grudges and think enough of LGF to move on to re-engage and refocus on the issues.

Never too nosy. Love ya.

Ain't gonna happen.

I'd rather have a daughter who'd rather not give me Grandkids than a daughter who'd dump a man she loved for a man who could.

Thanks, tho..

OK...good judgement too. Would they think of adopting?

re: #473 Stanley Sea

Yep, with Sarah's creationist Father, the science teacher supposedly going to give the 8 kids a lesson. Crazy shit.

(this is what I read earlier today, I've not spoken to TLC to confirm)

Oy. I feel bad for the camera crew. This is gonna be a long day.

re: #484 Decatur Deb

Lessons? That's a relief--I thought they'd be hunted from helicopters.

If you don't hunt Gosselins from helicopters, they'll overbreed and starve.

...wait, I think that was something else.

...ok, I'm being inappropriate again. Scratch that.

re: #525 Obdicut

You insult people all the time.

Either lecture people about not insulting people, or don't insult people.

Simple.

I am not claiming to be above the fray, Obdicut. Unfortunately the insults seem to come with the territory around here, don't they? I am not lecturing, I am asking folks to try to move on and not take insults to heart.
We should try not to hold grudges here - it is really quite unproductive.

GET OVER YOURSELF.
Yes, that was meant to be all caps.
I would prefer to see you remain as an active LGF poster, but you are behaving like you are on the road to the land of the banned. Please take a minute & think about your direction in this life.

Bullshit. You (and others I'm sure) will try to pin this on Ice and Jimmah.

That I predict is going to be "The Excuse" The story line: Bagua was FORCED to go to the stalker blog, post crazy, awful, nasty shit, including how he emailed people here (who???) about his plans beforehand. It's just like dirty politics. Atwater & Rove (yeah, heroes to some) Really, I pay attention. I saw it happen here on LGF.

Stanley, I wouldn't pay much attention to that:
- unless he is braindead, Bagua hoped somebody would read that and get paranoid
- frankly, if he still corresponds with people here, that's their business

Some pretty unbelievable lying, denial, and lashing out going on here.
Pretty goddamned obvious what it's all about too. Uncorked rage and malevolence over being someone who updinged those attacks.

Ho-hum. It's precisely the reaction and lie I knew would follow, and already exposed above. Rather breathtaking in its brazenness.

The problem isn't the namecalling-- its that you asked him to stop!
Yeah, totally. Uh-huh.

In this case it's pretty damned fucked up to pretend that poor innocent Bagua was run off. I don't know how many chances CJ gave him but it was a hell of a lot. And look how Bagua's repaying him now. When you defend him, that's what you're defending too.

The world will roll on just the same; the blog is better off; people who replicate this little stunt are quite obvious to all and will get exactly what they deserve from now on from me: ignored, and downdinged.

Thanks to everyone else btw. Virtually all people here are good folks, virtually all aren't here for this crap.
Enough. Time for me to go order more kitchen equipment from amazon!

547 Nick Schroeder  Thu, Jul 22, 2010 11:28:55pm

This is all very meta and sort of Emo2.o but it is nice to see it discussed openly. It sounds like this guy was an extreme asshole and was getting way too personal about stuff in an increasingly habitual pattern that was derailing good conversation. When people exist solely to troll, they all rightfully meet the same fate.

My guess is that he's well aware of all of it, ryannon.

For example, Charles updinged the post of Stanley's you just responded to.

People don't get timeouts, deleted comments, and eventually banned for no reason or on a whim. You have to work for it.

re: #126 iceweasel

This is classic, and a classic in the wingnut fantasy genre I herewith dub Wolverines of Wingnuttia.

It involves detailed fantasies by wingnuts of the vicious beatings they would give liberals, Obama, Saul Alinsky, black people, Democrats, whoever. Typically involves a fantasy whereby the mighty, yet humble, wingnut is forced, forced, to 'defend' himself from the imaginary attack that no one was in fact making or about to make.

Examples also include fantasy retellings of actual incidents where the wingnut was in some way humiliated, only this time the wingnut 'wins' by losing.

etc.

This is a classic in the genre -- black guy on bus provokes white dude and gets beaten down:

White dude subsequently got lionized as the second coming of Rambo. Yeah, black guy crossed a line, but you can imagine the race revenge fantasies that video provoked.

560 LauraNo  Fri, Jul 23, 2010 8:45:49am

I almost haz a sad for these grown men who are so scared. What a way to live your life. They can't build walls high enough or buy enough guns to make them feel safe, after all, there are STILL all those others walking around. The wingnuttery will never end as long as they are so terrified of a couple kids on a bus. Jeezus.
