White Pride Group Tells Tea Party: You’re in Denial

James Edwards, host of the repellent white supremacist radio show called “The Political Cesspool,” is irritated at all this denial coming from Tea Partiers. He says they should stop being such wusses and embrace their inner racists.

Of course the Tea Party is racist, crowed a blog post on the Council of Conservative Citizens website yesterday — and it would be proud of its racism if it weren’t wussy.

The post was written by James Edwards, a radio show host and author of Racism Schmacism. His website, the Political Cesspool, declares as its motto: “Conservatism is dead. Liberalism has no answers. What comes next? The rise of ethnopolitics.”

After the NAACP passed a recent resolution condemning the Tea Party as a bunch of bigots, the ragtag band of would-be American revolutionaries launched into denials. That’s because they’re week-kneed, lily-livered racists whose instinct is to “bend over and grab their ankles”, wrote Edwards, who suggested they connect with their inner-cackling villains:

“Instead of replying with a loud BWAHAHAHA! or a ‘Yeah? What’s your point?’ or ‘So what?’ or ‘Of course we’re racists - we’re white people. That’s what “racist” means’ or ‘Can any of you race hustlers even spell “racist”?’ The Tea Party predictably went into their usual bend over and grab their ankles mode. They protested that oh no, we’re not racists at all, we don’t tolerate racists at our rallies which are really huge rainbow coalitions.”

Edwards is right. The Tea Party is hiding the truth about itself: Racist groups are quietly welcomed at its starchy street fairs, even right here in Florida.

Last January, a state chapter of the Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC) set up shop at a Tea Party rally in Invernness, Citrus County. Senate candidate and Tea-Party darling Marco Rubio headlined the event, while the CCC handed out pamphlets and swag.

They wrote a proud blog entry about it: “Florida CofCC works crowd at TEA party.” The Anti-Defamation League warned of the group’s attendance a day ahead of time.

It is interesting the extent to which these white supremacists equate issues of race with issues of bending over and grabbing ankles. An imagery that recalls Rush Limbaugh as well.

We are dealing with some deep-seated limbic phobias, we will be generations upon generations ridding our culture of them, but we gotta get started somewhere.

I'm pretty sure this week was a game changer. I just posted this page...
The Reasoning Behind the New Right Wing Racism
It seems pretty likely that the Tea Parties and right wing outlets are going to be more openly supportive of White Rights issues.

"The Tea Party movement is a beautiful movement."

Sarah, allow me to introduce you to Franz and Herta, two old Germans of my acquaintance who remember "die Bewegung" (that is to say, the NSDAP) as the most beautiful thing in their lives.

Franz and Herta are old now, and they lived through plenty, but I can't stop wondering how they swallowed Hitler as their savior.

Having met you, I don't wonder anymore.

Franz and Herta say "hi!", but want to know one thing: whose game are you playing? Because Franz and Herta, no matter how much they treasure the copy of "Mein Kampf" they were given on their wedding day instead of the Bible, know that they were played.

Sarah? You there?

I need to point out to people that anyone born in Germany after 1915 cannot be held responsible for National Socialism: they were not adults at the time that the Nazis came to power in 1933 and cannot have played an active role in its founding.

And those who grew up under it as minors were corrupted by its ideology and most all of them were robbed of their youths, many of them were robbed of their lives.

When I was moving to Oklahoma, nearly 30 years ago (gulp), I would have gone 90 at times, except (a) my car had one of those 85-tops speedometers, and (b) it wouldn't go over 80. I did not want to imply that anyone born before 1915 ws automatically responsible. When the NSDAP seized power in 1933 they never held more than a plurality of seats in the German parliament. But by 1938, by stifilng all opposition and gaining control of all media, they had managed to broaden their appeal to embrace a strong majority.

I have yet to hear anything from Palin that could be called overtly racist, but her underlying message does seem to me to lean that way.

Oh heck no. I lived there 1980-84, 39 months that was the longest century of my life. Great people, hated the lifestyle (and have never liked OU sports). That "dry heat" stuff is BS, my friend--100 degrees is HOT, 100% humidity, 50% or zero.

However, I still remember my co-workers, neighbors, and the folks out there in general with great fondness.

Earnest advice--If your car has vinyl seats, get them replaced, unless you like the sound of frying meat that is YOU.

Although some of my Facebook winger buddies crowed a little I headed them off quick and they generally conceded about Breitbart, which is good. However, the blogger wingers seem to be doubling down yet again and supporting Breitbart at all costs. This is a good thing, as ugly as it is. I got to Germany in 1988. Just in time to make it to Berlin while there was still a Wall.

60 researchok  Sat, Jul 24, 2010 2:05:01pm

Years ago, I visited Atlanta.

I got off the plane, went to the car rental counter and was told there were no cars available for rent, reservations notwithstanding. There were huge thunderstorms, etc and people had just not returned all the cars that were rented out. I went from rental counter to rental counter only to be told the same thing.

I went to the courtesy board and finally reached Alamo rentals. They too had no cars for rent. They could let me have a compact car with a non functioning air conditioning unit for half the regular rental rate. I jumped at the opportunity, grabbed a cab and braved the monsoons to reach the Alamo lot (off the airport site). Sure enough, there was a compact car waiting for me, all for the princely sum of about $15 a day. I needed the car for 4 days.

That was pretty much one of the most stupid things I ever did. The heat, humidity and rain just about killed me. Further, even the maps they gave me were soaked through and through.

Everybody works on Peachtree Street in Atlanta. There are over 50 different streets with the name 'Peachtree'. I was miserable and sweated on each of them.

re: #60 researchok

I was miserable and sweated on each of them.

well see...always go to Hotlanta as a tourist with a car rez...ya boob

re: #55 ClaudeMonet

Moved back to Ohio in early spring 1984 and haven't moved out since. Could have, haven't. I can be one lazy f***er.

Thanks for the response...I'm sure there are some lizards in Oklahoma..In fact someone has a nick here of Oklahoma...
It's Ironic that I really like the Thunder in OK...I'm buying season tickets...

non-elites. See SFZ's post. race is collateral damage; "librul elitism" is the clumsy target. knowledge is dead on the altar, with an open cavity where the heart once pumped.

I will, however, also add that culture, as intertwined with race, probably also plays a big role in 'who is a real American'.

Lyrics to "The Melting Pot" by Blue Mink:

Take a pinch of white man
Wrap him up in black skin
Add a touch of blue blood
And a little bitty bit of red Indian boy
Oh like a Curly Latin kinkies
Oh Lordy, Lordy, mixed with yellow Chinkees, yeah
You know you lump it all together
And you got a recipe for a get along scene
Oh what a beautiful dream
If it could only come true, you know, you know

What we need is a great big melting pot
Big enough enough enough to take
The world and all its got And keep it stirring for a hundred years or more
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score

Rabbis and the friars
Vishnus and the gurus
We got the Beatles or the Sun God
Well it really doesn't matter what religion you choose
And be thankful little Mrs. Graceful
You know that livin' could be tasteful
We should all get together in a lovin machine
I think I'll call up the queen
It' s only fair that she knows, you know, you know

What we need is a great big melting pot
Big enough enough enough to take
The world and all its got And keep it stirring for a hundred years or more
And turn out coffee coloured people by the score

I know...but it depends on where you're going and how often you're going there. With all of the fees and taxes, if you only have to go from the hotel to the organization in the morning and return in the evening, the trip needs to be quite a few days before a decent rental car starts to save you money.

I don't own that well. Nobody does. As was so aptly pointed out, the DNC was on the wrong side of that fight, initially.

I don't care if they want to call themselves conservatives. (Telling that you filled in that blank so quickly) If the DNC came out endorsing some kind of American apharteid, they would register as Democrats in a heartbeat.

Nah. The only thing i'm a little sore about is following someone else's train of thought and then being accused of driving the train.

Can we at least identify 'who brought up' before we get worked up about 'who brought up'? Seems like an integral part of the annoyance, non?

nah. that was meant in a teasing fashion. if a sarc tag would have improved it, then please allow one to be inserted ex post facto. apologies if that was perceived overly harshly. i know you don't think i'm racist.

No, not at all. I specifically meant to imply that the party has been taken back from non-racists like yourself by racists. I meant to exclude you specifically from that point.

re: #202 BigPapa

Agreed, and agreed! I read a statement that racism is specifically American, but it seems that was not what was meant, so back to beer.

There is nothing uniquely American about racism. But it is deeply ingrained here. and it never went away. It just went into hiding.

It's not a lighthearted point, it's a dodge for the bullshit Southern Strategy of the GOP. The fact of the matter is that 0% of Southern Republicans voted for the CRA, and the vast majority of those Dixiecrats all became Republicans, so by by the logic of this "lighthearted point" all Southern Republicans must be gutless two-faced racist trash. Right?

Again, it's not a lighthearted point, it's revisionism.

Dam fails in eastern Iowa, causing massive flooding

(CNN) -- A dam on an eastern Iowa lake suffered a "catastrophic" failure Saturday, sending a massive amount of water into nearby communities and forcing residents to flee, officials said.

The Lake Delhi dam, about 45 miles north of Cedar Rapids, failed as a result of "massive rain -- a very unusually high amount this season," according to Jim Flansburg, communications director for Gov. Chet Culver.

Culver told CNN that nearly 10 inches of rain had recently fallen in a 12-hour period in the area and was "too much water for the dam to hold."

The roads on either side of the dam -- which were part of the dam's containment measures -- apparently gave out as a result of the rainfall, Flansburg told CNN.

The National Weather Service reported a 30-foot-wide gap in the berm alongside the dam.

it wasn't really a fight. i had a minor annoyance about being perceived as the driver of the train, when i was at best a co-driver, and during the snarky clarification process, i made a clumsy jab that came off meaner than it should have, for which i apologized. but Fozzie's too good of a dude [librulism aside] to be fighting with.

well...then frank came in and said i wasn't being lighthearted and something something Southern Strategy something something, but sometimes i just look sideways at frank and keep rolling. o0

*Looks at tons of unused napalm around myself*
Damn!
Too late.

Speaking of Napalm,

Built by engineer Konstantin Zverev in the 1870s, Fort Zverev now lies in ruins, with machine gun mounts, bunkers, and water tubes slowly rusting away.

But the part of Fort Zverev that feels truly nightmarish lies in the basement area, where in the 1970s, a fire erupted. However this wasn't just any fire.

In this basement they stored a Russian alternative to napalm, and when it caught fire it reached temperatures of over 2000С, so hot in fact, that is literally melted the brick above it. In doing so it created a sort of artificial cave of red brick stalactites dripping down from above.

Today the fort, and its cave of dripping brick stalactites are still there, slowly falling back into the Russian countryside.

I see what happened, but honestly, it's just a bit of LGF misconstruing and miscommunication, combined with an extremely unhelpful regurgitating of that old talking point about the realignment. Flames ensued, but were beaten back.

Speaking of Outrageous Outrages - this kind of crap is far more serious and far more damaging to everyone than calling people names camouflaging it in alphabet soup, because it is politically incorrect to spell spade if you ask for a shovel. And people all getting upset over that if you do. All this PC is just a smokescreen so the masses have something to be upset about while far more serious stuff is going on under the covers. Sticks and stones... these are the ones that hurt.

I think we, all citizens, should express outrage over this. Charlie Rangel is just the same as Bobby Rizzo and and the flack Hernandez. Crooks all of them!

This type of behaviour is no different than Communist party apparatchicks (or Taliban, or Congress, or City Council) getting with the program, stealing the idealistic and idiotic worker masses blind while pretending to build workers paradise and propagandizing that Bad imperialists are just over the hill. Been there, done that; don't want to do this all over again. Too old for this.

The Bear and the Maiden Fair

A bear there was, a bear, a bear!
All black and brown, and covered with hair!
The bear! The bear!
Oh, come, they said, oh come to the fair!
The fair? Said he, but I'm a bear!
All black, and brown, and covered with hair!

And Down the road from here to there.
From here! To There!
Three boys, a goat, and a dancing bear!
[He] danced and spun, all the way to the Fair!
The Fair! The Fair!

Oh, sweet she was, and pure, and fair!
The maid with honey in her hair!
Her hair! Her hair!
The maid with honey in her hair!

[The bear,] smelled the scent on the summer air.
The bear! The bear!
All black and brown and covered with hair.
He smelled the scent on the summer air!
He sniffed and roared and smelled it there!
Honey on the summer air!

Oh, I'm a maid, and I'm pure and fair!
I'll never dance with a hairy bear!
A bear! A bear!
I'll never dance with a hairy bear!
He lifted her high into the air!
The bear! The bear!

I called for a knight, but you're a bear!
A bear! A bear!
All black and brown and covered with hair!
She kicked and wailed, the maid so fair,
But he licked the honey from her hair,
Her hair! Her hair!

Then she sighed and squealed and kicked the air!
My bear! She sang. My bear so fair!
And off they went, from here to there,
The bear, the bear, and the maiden fair.

Its getting to the point where if you want a shortcut for 'the failures of lassaiz-faire capitalism', you just say 'BP'.

Actually - most of those folks were (and are) doing their jobs and doing them right.

Whoever it was who was handling this well - I don't know, trusted BP more than they should have? Had too cozy a relationship? Who knows, but whoever that person was needs to be dealt with - and I suspect he/she has been dealt with.

Nah, Obama won't take such an overt move. Instead, this will be the start of a lawsuit against BP to recover the promised funds. By the time it's all said and done, it'll be another Exxon Valdez, with BP being ordered to pay a sum far smaller than the actual damages, paid out so slowly that many will die before ever seeing a single cent on their claim.

No. Something apparently happened to the author.

Afraid of failure?

Tolkien never cared.

But then, John Ronald Reuel was tollkühn, and fookin' proud of it. He never met a publisher he couldn't eat for breakfast.

Nice pun (had to look it up, of course)!

I'm going to be a bit heretic here and say that, from the 3rd book on, it's probably harder to write a ASoIaF volume than a Tolkien book. Middle Earth's geography and history are monumental, but the present time of Tolkien's books is relatively simple. OTOH, Martin entangled himself with too many ongoing plot threads. I think that's mostly what's been giving him headaches and delaying the next book.

Very possible too. But personally, I consider that a shitty excuse, that after you bent the rules so much you broke them off in order to save a bit more money, you turn around and drag ass because the lawyers want to make sure every "i" is dotted and every "t" crossed. re: #207 Cato the Elder

Look, peeps, let me make myself clear.

A beautiful woman once crossed my path. She played a mean (and unusually built) guitar, and sang of old days (which always gets me in the heartland), and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

No one could sing like that. I listened to that song twelvescore times in a row.

Now it turns out she's become a staple of the Russian fascist movement.

Do I hate her and revile her beauty and execrate her old songs?

No.

I'm sad.

Figure it out.

Good lord man, get in touch. If I had a point of contact with Joan Baez, I would certainly be curious about what her thoughts were now.

Saco and Vanzetti not withstanding.

re: #427 Cato the Elder

The Beatles led me to Shakespeare.

No joke.

I listened closely.

At the end of "Walrus", I heard this:

"Sit you down, father, rest you."

I didn't rest until I found out where that came from.

King Lear, Act IV, Scene Six.

EDGAR

Sit you down, father; rest you
Let's see these pockets: the letters that he speaks of
May be my friends. He's dead; I am only sorry
He had no other death's-man. Let us see:
Leave, gentle wax; and, manners, blame us not:
To know our enemies' minds, we'ld rip their hearts;
Their papers, is more lawful.

Reads
'Let our reciprocal vows be remembered. You have
many opportunities to cut him off: if your will
want not, time and place will be fruitfully offered.
There is nothing done, if he return the conqueror:
then am I the prisoner, and his bed my goal; from
the loathed warmth whereof deliver me, and supply
the place for your labour.
'Your--wife, so I would say--
'Affectionate servant,
'GONERIL.'
O undistinguish'd space of woman's will!
A plot upon her virtuous husband's life;
And the exchange my brother! Here, in the sands,
Thee I'll rake up, the post unsanctified
Of murderous lechers: and in the mature time
With this ungracious paper strike the sight
Of the death practised duke: for him 'tis well
That of thy death and business I can tell.

GLOUCESTER

The king is mad: how stiff is my vile sense,
That I stand up, and have ingenious feeling
Of my huge sorrows! Better I were distract:
So should my thoughts be sever'd from my griefs,
And woes by wrong imaginations lose
The knowledge of themselves.

I was twelve years old when "Walrus" hit the airwaves, and the Beatles - no one will ever beat them - led me straight to Shakespeare.

Honi soit qui mal y pense.

Edwards also had on his show one of the Sheriffs down here in AZ, Sheriff Babeau, who actually called on listeners to volunteer for his citizen's posse. Edwards also is on the board of a group called American Third Position which is making inroads in the right out here in the West. Among the other board members:

Kevin B. MacDonald - Advances a theory that Jews have evolved themselves to 'dispossess' white europeans from their 'rightful' place of power. Believes US immigration law is driven by Jews and Jewish desire to water down the white majority. Believes African Americans and Latinos are inferior races. He strenuously defended holocaust denier David Irving and is lauded by white supremacists and Nazis.

Tom (Tomislav) Sunic - Blames Jews for trying to promote a multiracial America which will lead to the end of the true America. Is part of the European New Right which is both anti-egalitarian and anti-democratic. He is also a holocaust denier. He has spoken at meetings of the neo-Nazi National Alliance (US). Supporter of eugenics and other disproven ideas.

Yeah, kinda wish I'd been around then. Must've been a hell of a time to live through (altho I usually hate boomers reminiscing about it :p)

This is Rexroth on an earlier struggle--reminiscing of a high order.

We believed we
Would see with our own eyes the new
World where man was no longer
Wolf to man, but men and women
Were all brothers and lovers
Together. We will not see it.
We will not see it, none of us.
It is farther off than we thought.
. . . It does not matter.
We were comrades together.
Life was good for us. It is
Good to be brave - nothing is
Better. Food tastes better. Wine
Is more brilliant. Girls are more
Beautiful. The sky is bluer . . .
If the good days never come,
We will not know. We will not care.
Our lives were the best. We were the
Happiest men alive in our day.

re: #530 Decatur Deb

Right back at ya!

Strange memories on this nervous night in Las Vegas. Five years later? Six? It seems like a lifetime or at least a Main Era–the kind of peak that never comes again. San Francisco in the middle sixties was a very special time and place to be a part of. Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run . . . but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant. . . .

History is hard to know, because of all the hired bullshit, but even without being sure of “history” it seems entirely reasonable to think that every now and then the energy of a whole generation comes to a head in a long fine flash, for reasons that nobody really understands at the time—and which never explain, in retrospect, what actually happened.

My central memory of that time seems to hang on one or five or maybe forty nights—or very early mornings—when I left the Fillmore half-crazy and, instead of going home, aimed the big 650 Lightning across the Bay Bridge at a hundred miles an hour wearing L. L. Bean shorts and a Butte sheepherder’s jacket . . . booming through the Treasure Island tunnel at the lights of Oakland and Berkeley and Richmond, not quite sure which turn-off to take when I got to the other end (always stalling at the toll-gate, too twisted to find neutral while I fumbled for change) . . . but being absolutely certain that no matter which way I went I would come to a place where people were just as high and wild as I was: No doubt at all about that. . . .

There was madness in any direction, at any hour. If not across the Bay, then up the Golden Gate or down 101 to Los Altos or La Honda. . . . You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning. . . .

And that, I think, was the handle—that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn’t need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting—on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. . . .

So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark—that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

re: #501 Killgore Trout

People used to fight about music. Those were the good old days.

A whitche killed for surfeing i.e "sayling upon a plancke"

In 1643, the Parliamentarian army, under the command of the Earl of Essex, was camped at Newbury. Some soldiers saw a woman apparantly walking on water, however, "they could perceive there was a planck or deal overshadowed with a little shallow water, that she stood upon... turning and winding it which way she pleased". No doubt she was a local going about her business as she must have so many times before. She was seized, pronounced a witch and the soldiers decided to shoot her, which is when the story takes a turn into the silly. It seems that she was not to be killed so easily for "with a deriding and loud laughter at them, she caught their bullets in her hands and chewed them". One soldier then took it upon himself to slash her forehead "as sure method to counteract sorcery and discharged the pistol underneath her ear, at which she straight sunk down and died".

Some of them are really obscure. Schulze was a german electronic artist that started in the '70s, one of the pioneers with analogue synthesizers.

Mix (Sir Mix-a-Lot) you probably know from "Baby got Back". Seattle native so I'd have to know him.

SP and the Delgados were both self-published, and very niche (80s industrial and Scottish Alternative, respectively).

well said. perhaps i should have clarified with something more like "legislators should ask as much of their traffic patterns as they do of the vehicles who make up the traffic".

It's actually much, much, much harder to solve the algorithms of traffic flow, since it's evolutionary, than it is to solve the engineering problems of making low-emissions vehicles, electric vehicles, etc.

The algorithms of traffic flow also depend on human behavior; the engineering stuff doesn't (or at least, not nearly to the same degree.)

Ideally, we should have a computer model (or even a robot) of all the systems in a community-- I don't think we're going to be getting around to that any time soon.

But we should-- it'd actually be a great infrastructure investment.

agree with all of that. however, part of a function of complexity is the degree to which one pursues perfection. building a perfect traffic flow would be extraordinarily complex. i'm more interested in whether i'm suffering in a subpar traffic flow that could be made better, if not perfect, with a reasonable amount of computation.

becoming perfect is hard. getting better, especially when the current situation isn't good, is often less difficult.
