Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer Stand With The English Defense League

Wingnuts • Views: 16,797

Hate monger and anti-mosque queen bee Pamela Geller often promotes an extreme right wing British group called the English Defense League (an offshoot of the neo-Nazi British National Party), praising them as “peaceful patriots” trying to peacefully defend their peaceful culture from the invasion of the Moslem horde.

When the EDL recently held a rally in London to protest Britain’s exclusion of Dutch anti-Muslim demagogue Geert Wilders, for example, Geller gushed:

How I wish I could be there to stand with the English Defense League.

Geller’s crony, anti-Muslim writer Robert Spencer, also gushes over the EDL regularly:

The EDL deserves the support of all free people.

At Harry’s Place, Edmund Standing shows us some of the people with whom Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer stand:

Wait...wait...dude with a swastika tattoo, doing the stolen "Heil" sign, in front of a flag that says "England?"

Has anyone informed him that the nazis attacked England and everything it stood for?

Perfect time to haul out these old hoary missives between Robert Spencer and myself. Things never change, do they?

"Robert, can you answer one simple question for me. This would help a lot in deciding what is really going on here. Which European political parties do you UNCONDITIONALLY condemn because of their proven ties to racist nationalism?" (Walter L. Newton email to Robert Spencer sent on Friday, November 07, 2008 1:16 PM)

And his answer...

"Actually, I am fighting jihad, and have no interest in or intention to investigate these groups. Insofar as they are fighting jihad, I applaud them. Insofar as they are doing anything else, my endorsement is not implied." (Robert Spencer email answer to Walter L. Newton sent on Sat 11/8/2008 10:39 AM)

This support Spencer is giving to the EDL should come as no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to Spencer for all these years.

Ironic isn't it?
Except for Goering, fat Nazis were pretty rare by the spring of 1945.
I mean, gruel rations were getting a bit thin with the allies bombing the shit out of the railroads; and the few calories the rank and file did get were constantly being burned off clearing rubble, digging mass graves, and fleeing from the Red Army.
This Aryan hero should compare himself to his predecessors and draw the obvious conclusion.

Excellent.

But if we say that a mosque and community center should not be built near the perimeter of the World Trade Center site, we would compromise our commitment to fighting terror with freedom.

We would undercut the values and principles that so many heroes died protecting. We would feed the false impressions that some Americans have about Muslims. We would send a signal around the world that Muslim Americans may be equal in the eyes of the law, but separate in the eyes of their countrymen. And we would hand a valuable propaganda tool to terrorist recruiters, who spread the fallacy that America is at war with Islam.
Islam did not attack the World Trade Center -- Al-Qaeda did. To implicate all of Islam for the actions of a few who twisted a great religion is unfair and un-American. Today we are not at war with Islam -- we are at war with Al-Qaeda and other extremists who hate freedom.

The write-up for the Youtube video is good too:

People oppose the EDL because of what it is, not because of what some EDL activists say they'd like it to be, and the facts are simple - the EDL is being used as a Trojan Horse by Nazis and BNP activists.

Whether EDL leaders planned it that way is a moot point, but EDL leaders Stephen Yaxley-Lennon and Chris Renton (aka John Sheridan) are BNP, Jeff Marsh (aka Joe Casuals) promotes Nazi music in his blog and says he supports voting BNP, Paul Ray says he's NOT anti-BNP but he was shunned by EDL leaders for opposing Renton linking with Nazis, Joel Titus says he opposes the BNP but accepted BNP activists as friends on You Tube, and EDL poster-boy Guramit Singh is a proven racist. Other movers and shakers in the original EDL include NF activist David Tull and BNP activist David Cooling. With that kind of leadership, of course it's the EDL's fault Nazis turn up at EDL demos!

re: #80 Winny Spencer

Those particular posts were about Vlaams Belang, not the EDL. You're right, there is nothing remotely Catholic about the EDL.

Thanks--had me confused. I didn't see the photo.

Oswald Mosley's bastard grandchildren.

I slightly disagree with that assessment, SFZ...they're just fucking bastards.

re: #45 Walter L. Newton

James... the on air staff of Fox are aware of Alwaleed and his involvement with News Corp. You make this sound like it's some secret. We discuss this on LGF years ago.

It's more of less an open secret....most everyone at News Corp. and the rest of the MSM knows about Alwaleed's stake in News Corp., but says very little (if anything) in public about it, particularly in relation to stories such as the brouhaha with Cordoba House/Park51.

The viewing public is being treated like mushrooms (that is, kept in the dark and fed a bunch of shit), while the rest of the MSM should be hammering Fox News and News Corp. about Alwaleed for all it's worth, if only for ratings, especially when conflict of interests occur.

Until they started picking on his Kingdom Foundation on air, it would be a tricky story to highlight. Just bringing up the fact that a Saudi controls 7% of NewsCorp by itself smacks of bigotry. One would need to contrast that control with the stories and opinion that FNC is putting out. The fact that they have been banging the anti-Islam drum for so long does make for a story, but it would be kind of a confusing one.

What it boils down to is, they really screwed up with this Kingdom Foundation talk, and have opened the door to legitimately newsworthy stories regarding their ownership and the fact that they're receiving funding from the exact same sources that they're blaming the Cordoba Initiative for receiving funding from.

They won't, because they see that to do so shines a light on Imam Rauf's financial dealings with the same person.
The knife cuts both ways, which is why I'm surprised at all the Al Alweed brouhaha.
Using al alweed to condemn Newscorp is overlooking the fact that all that is heaped on Newscorp would quite rightly be heaped on Rauf and his Cordoba initiative.

I don't think the MSM really cares about defending Imam Rauf, or... they might have done some of that by now.

It was FOX News who already brought it up to begin with. That's the point. Nobody here is saying bin Talal is a bad guy, or that taking money from him makes you shady. FOX News is already saying that about Imam Rauf, when the fact is they do the same thing.

Wait...wait...dude with a swastika tattoo, doing the stolen "Heil" sign, in front of a flag that says "England?"

Has anyone informed him that the nazis attacked England and everything it stood for?

Another reflexive defense that ignores facts

If you think the (left leaning) media has not been defending Rauf/the mosque, you haven't been paying attention. Even here, dozens of lkinks to media defending Rauf and the mosque have been posted.

Nobody here is saying bin Talal is a bad guy

I have for one. Others here have acknowledged that Al Alweed has supported suicide bombers through donations to the families of suicide bombers.

I have to agree with Spare, all reason about this is out the window.
Now we have arguments that go; * Al Alweed is a good guy, but Fox doing business with him makes them bad, and never mind what Rauf and Cordoba does with al alweed*

I'm sure it's been asked before, but why is anyone paying attention to nonsensical ramblings of someone like Pam?

To an outside observer like myself, it seems like she is either a clinical case study of paranoid schizophrenia, or a somewhat clever con artist riding the terrorism scare wave.

I wish some of the people who know this harpy personally would provide some details. It just blows my mind how someone like her gets any mention in intelligent and coherent blogs, let alone major news outlets...

The EDL are hardcore neo-nazis. In the UK it isn't really open to debate. IF Spencer genuinely thinks otherwise - and by now he should know them damn well - he has been hoodwinked and should accept as a warning in good faith, that these people are white supremacist Hitler-lovers and not freedom fighters at all. Charles is totaly 100% on the money.
