Turn an iPhone into an Amazingly Inexpensive Photomicroscope

Technology • Views: 3,033

An awesome iPhone hack that I’m definitely going to try, via Gizmodo: How To Turn Your iPhone Into A Microscope For Only $10.

These odd images were all taken using an iPhone cleverly equipped with a 45x microscope. The best part though? You can add such an upgrade to your own iPhone for about $10.

Here’s the video showing how to attach the mini-microscope to an inexpensive iPhone case:

Youtube Video

I’ve already ordered the microscope from Amazon: SE Mini 45X Microscope w/ Illuminator. $10.43.

And the iPhone case from monoprice.com: TPU Case for iPhone 4 - Clear | iPhone Cases. Less than $3.00, including shipping. Yes, really.

And don’t forget the Krazy Glue.

I would love one for work stuff. I could email high def close ups of violin purfling from an auction to a friend who might know it the instrument is authentic. An endoscope attachment would be super cool too for inspecting the inside of a cello or violin looking for signatures, stamps or repairs/flaws.

Robert Spencer must be getting pumped up for the big day tomorrow. He just posted a link to an article arguing that Jesus would have burned Qurans.

He might be right. JC, real or imagined, was a 1st century religious figure and probably wasn't very tolerant of blasphemy or other religions.

You know I took a break from not just LGF but pretty much all blogs, news, websites etc way back when and it turned into a much longer break then I thought it would be. I guess I was just enjoying my 'ignorance of the bad crazy bliss too much." Decided that I can't keep my head in the sand forever and am peeking in again. Stuff like this makes me just want to go dig a deeper hole for my head. LOL

Gah it's just seems to all have gotten worse.... ---sigh----

Hey if they don't have to deal with the realities that Ronald Reagan raised taxes we don't have to deal with the fact that Jesus wasn't a shoeless hippie!

Seems you picked a bad day to quit drinking avoiding political websites ;) (seriously though, good to see you back, and glad to hear your absence was due to personal choice rather than some catastrophic life event! Couldn't help but worry a bit when I realized how long you'd been gone...)

Would there have been any good days? ;)

Yeah I honestly didn't plan on staying away as long as I did. I should have popped in to say I'm alive. One week I had just generally had it, not for any particular reason or anything specific and that week just stretched out into months. I actually didn't do anything on the internet except for emails and a garden forum for almost two months. My hubby thought I was losing it because suddenly I wasn't on the computer at all. LOL

re: #11 Charles

As a Christian, I do not accept that Muhammad received revelation from God, for many reasons (most of which would require a separate, and much longer, column), most saliently that he and his "revelation" deny (in Sura 4:157) the key doctrine of my, and 2.3 billion other Christians', faith: the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to atone for the entire human race's sins.

I really, really, really, really wish that religious people could see how magnificently absurd that looks through the eyes of a non-believer / skeptic / agnostic / atheist. You know how goofy the story of Xenu seems to non-Scientologists? How ridiculous the story of the angel Moroni and the invisible golden plates is to non-Mormons? That's exactly how stupid this argument looks to me. It's like arguing over whether or not Bernie Johnson actually did or did not hitch a ride on the Blessed Back of Unice, Unicorn of Good Tidings, and then citing specific passages of William S. Burroughs' "Naked Lunch" to back up their claim.
