Newt Gingrich: Obama Has a ‘Kenyan Worldview’

Politics • Views: 5,845

Uh oh.

Citing a recent Forbes article by Dinesh D’Souza, former House speaker Newt Gingrich tells National Review Online that President Obama may follow “Kenyan, anti-colonial” worldview.

Gingrich says that D’Souza has made a “stunning insight” into Obama’s behavior — the “most profound insight I have read in the last six years about Barack Obama.”

“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece [his actions]?” Gingrich asks. “That is the most accurate, predicative model for his behavior.”

“This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president,” Gingrich tells us.

What the fuck is a "Kenyan worldview" Newt? And it's obvious to anyone with a brain taht Newt is playing to race here. Highly doubt he would say this about a white politician.

By the way, Newt also repeats the bullshit about Obama "conning" the US public. Seriously does he think we're dummies because we voted for Obama over McCain, a man many in Newt's mindset don't think is conservative enough. Imagine that Newt that many of us voted for Obama because we liked him over McCain and thought he would make a good president. I'd vote for Obama again over McCain and I have no regrets about doing so.

19 Targetpractice  Sat, Sep 11, 2010 8:06:10pm

I have little doubt now that Newt's setting himself up for a 2012 run. He seems to have decided that cornering the wingnut market is the immediate goal.

Why not just admit you think he's uppity and that having a black president offends your delicate sensibilities? At least then you'd be honest.

Also, way to pander to the Klan, asshole. The fact that you're saying this shit about the President of the United States should make you ashamed of yourself, at least if you weren't such a sleazy, opportunistic political whore.

In short, STFU and STFD you washed up, miserable hack. You'll never be president, but at the rate you're going, you'll end up getting Obama a second term. When that happens, I'll laugh my ass off at you and the other bigots.

The correct way to eat pizza is to fold the crust and begin eating it from the pointed end. Chicago pizza is not real pizza.

24 jaunte  Sat, Sep 11, 2010 8:11:17pm

So, here's D'Souza's big 'anti-colonialist' insight, bolded:

Colonialism today is a dead issue. No one cares about it except the man in the White House. He is the last anticolonial. Emerging market economies such as China, India, Chile and Indonesia have solved the problem of backwardness; they are exploiting their labor advantage and growing much faster than the U.S. If America is going to remain on top, we have to compete in an increasingly tough environment.

But instead of readying us for the challenge, our President is trapped in his father's time machine. Incredibly, the U.S. is being ruled according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman of the 1950s. This philandering, inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world for denying him the realization of his anticolonial ambitions, is now setting the nation's agenda through the reincarnation of his dreams in his son. The son makes it happen, but he candidly admits he is only living out his father's dream. The invisible father provides the inspiration, and the son dutifully gets the job done. America today is governed by a ghost.

I love New York pizza. I also love Chicago style pizza. When I lived in Fiji, ham & pineapple pizzas were the best thing they made (to a then 15 year old). I make all sorts of pizzas. Corn-meal crust(bacon & egg with bechamel sauce), whole wheat crust (sausage, pesto, whatever), thick crust (clams, prawns, meat & veggie, etc)...

NV-Sen: Ashjian to stay on the ballot following judge's ruling
Conservative efforts to knock Tea Party candidate Scott Ashjian off of the ballot in the high-profile Nevada Senate race were tossed aside on Thursday, as Judge James Wilson noted that the complaint had been filed well past the deadline for challenging candidates. The plaintiffs had argued that they sent a letter to the Secretary of State complaining that Ashjian had insufficient signatures. Unfortunately, that was not the same thing as filing an official challenge, which the conservative groups had neglected to do until a full nine weeks past the deadline.

I'm not saying that our presence there is colonialism but sure an anti-colonial purist would have withdrawn troops by now to prevent any appearance of colonialist actions. What about Guam and Puerto Rico? Again, Gingrich is talking out of his ass.

92 HappyWarrior  Sat, Sep 11, 2010 8:28:46pm

You know what bugs me is that Newt's not a dummy. He has to know that we Americans fought a colonial power to gain our independence. I don't know for sure what he's getting at here but I for one am sick of Obama being knocked for his Kenyan heritage. Am I a Nazi or Nazi sympathizer because I'm part German? In people like Newt's book the answer would be yes. I'm also sick and tired of people like Newt acting like Obama conned the American public in to voting for him. If they wanted to beat Obama they should have put someone up better than McCain who many of them whined about anyhow. I have news for Newt. Barack Obama is our president. He's my president, he's your president. I don't always agree with him but he deserves better than your bullshit.

D'Souza also thinks liberals caused 9/11:

During an interview on The Colbert Report on January 16, 2007, while promoting his book, The Enemy At Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11, D'Souza blamed liberals for causing the September 11, 2001, attacks. He says they convinced the Carter administration to withdraw support from the Shah, which allowed Muslim fundamentalists to take control of the Iranian government. He also stated that the distorted representation of American culture on television is one of the main sources of resentment of the U.S by Muslims worldwide. D'Souza believes that while traditional Muslims are not too different from traditional Jews and Christians in America, in the media only liberal America is depicted, which by traditional standards is morally depraved; and this false image of America that is broadcast to the world both turns people in traditional cultures against America and is destructive to the traditional societies themselves.[Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

For the Muscle car guys. The Studebaker guys are getting ready for the annual Pure Stock Muscle car drags this week. They'll have about a dozen cars with the Avanti supercharged engines competing. The fastest car is a 2 door 64 Lark sedan with the rare optional R3 engine. He just did a dyno pull on the supercharged 305 cu.in. engine with some impressive numbers:

"Peak horsepower in Pure Stock Drags legal configuration (full exhaust, etc), measured at the rear wheels (which is what's "left over" after power losses through the transmission and differential) was 376.3 HP @ 5531 RPM.

The dyno has a formula to figure raw flywheel horsepower based on measured rear-wheel horsepower after "dialing in" type of transmission, type of differential, and a host of other variables. Using that 376.3 HP as the base, the dyno's formula computed the flywheel horsepower available to be 452 HP !
The the torque curve remained fairly flat and high through the whole test procedure, and measured a best of 370.5 ft/lb at the rear wheels at 4654 RPM during testing."

I'll post how we did in a few days.

The Dems are going to lose seats this time around. It's inevitable. However, I don't think it will be as dramatic as all that, given that most of the time, the same people keep getting re-elected to the job.

Ayep. I figure it'll be like '06 was for the Democrats: Some high-profile falls, a whittling away of the majority party's advantage, but the predicted knock-out blow won't happen. Expect a lot of cries from the Right the day after about "voter fraud!" and allegations of pre-programmed voting machines, illegals being allowed to vote, vote tampering, and so forth.

Police suspect terrorist link to Copenhagen blast

An explosion in a Copenhagen, Denmark, hotel toilet may have been linked to terrorist activities, the head of the Danish secret service PET said Saturday.

Jakob Scharf said initial investigations indicated that Friday afternoon's blast might have been a botched preparation for a terrorist attack.

An injured man arrested shortly after the explosion was refusing to answer police questioning, reports said.

Police apprehended the man after he was seen running away from the Jorgensen Hotel and into the nearby Orstedsparken park.

The park was evacuated and the surrounding streets were cordoned off as explosive experts were called in to remove a suspected suicide belt around his body.

After several hours, a remote-controlled bomb disposal unit removed a bag strapped to the man's waist. The bag did not explode when a shot was fired at it, and the suspect was taken by ambulance to hospital.

This whole "hates white people" idea has come up many times, not least with Shirley Sherrod. There'a a very real fear of what might happen if minorities gain position of power, and I suspect it comes from people who imagine their own beliefs about keeping others "in their place" will be mirrored by those others.

But it was that kind of night. Geraldo didn't seem to care how nonsensical, rude and ignorant he had to be to do it, he was just determined to portray me and those who agree with me as "extreme." It was yet another example of how out of touch with the American people the mainstream media has become.

Well, Geraldo, we are not all extremists. We are not going away, either. Defending America is not extreme. Truth has become estreme. Truth is the new hate speech. The lies that Geraldo and others like you tell about us, and the boxes you push us into, become more obvious to more people every day. Our rally, attended by tens of thousands (just look at the pictures) that you dismissed as 1,500 is a case in point. You can pretend those people don't exist, Geraldo, but they do. We do. And we're going to keep fighting to defend our country, whatever you call us, and whatever lies you tell.

So, here's D'Souza's big 'anti-colonialist' insight, bolded:

Incredibly, the U.S. is being ruled according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman of the 1950s. This philandering, inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world for denying him the realization of his anticolonial ambitions, is now setting the nation's agenda through the reincarnation of his dreams in his son. The son makes it happen, but he candidly admits he is only living out his father's dream. The invisible father provides the inspiration, and the son dutifully gets the job done. America today is governed by a ghost.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- An animal rights group is now getting involved in the debate over a controversial mosque in Murfreesboro.

The Tennessean reports PETA is asking the Islamic Center for permission to place a sign at the construction site. The sign would feature an image of peas arranged to represent different religious symbols, like the Christian cross, Muslim star and Jewish Star of David.

PETA says the sign is meant to promote compassion and understanding of all religions. There is no word yet on the Islamic Center's opinion of the proposal.

PETA is involving itself in this debate? How will they save animal lives? Are they going to ask the mosque not to eat meat?

Well his detractors blame his presidency on us damn kids, to which I say your welcome every time :).

They're more interested in blaming Black voters. The theme is that he got such a large number of Black votes because he's Black and they're Black, and Blacks will always vote for Blacks etc. They ignore that in every election before 2008, 100% of White voters voted for a White candidate. Are we to assume those votes were also cast on racial lines?

Well remember Muslims don't eat pork. So in that respect I imagine they're happy for having Muslims in the community. But on the flip side, most Muslims I've known especially those of Arab extraction tend to like lamb meat too. Of course PETA would be pissed at me since I enjoy pork and lamb equally.

IIRC, there was a greater black voter turnout than usual, (not huge, but an uptick) but the percentages of blacks voting Democrat didn't move noticeably.

I really don't know how people can get that upset about the idea that black people would be interested in voting for the first serious black candidate for president. It sort of simply stands to reason.

WOULD JESUS WEAR A ROLEX
(Margaret Archer / Chet Atkins)

Ray Stevens - 1987

Woke up this mornin' turned on my TV set
There in livin' color was somethin' I can't forget
This man was preachin' at me.. yeah.. layin' on the charm
Asking me for 20 with 10,000 on his arm

He wore designer clothing and a big smile on his face
Selling me salvation while they sang Amazing Grace
Asking me for money when he had all the signs of weath
Almost wrote a check out.. yeah.. but then I asked myself…

Would He wear a pinky ring, would He drive a fancy car
Would His wife wear furs and diamonds,
would His dressing room have a star
If he came back tomorrow there's something I'd like to know
Would Jesus wear a rolex on His television show

Would Jesus be political if he came back to earth
Have his second home in Palm Springs.. yeah.. but try to hide his worth
Take money from those poor folks when He comes back again
And admit He's talked to all those preachers who said they'd been-a talking to Him

Would He wear a pinky ring, would He drive a fancy car
Would His wife wear furs and diamonds,
would His dressing room have a star
If he came back tomorrow there's something I'd like to know
Could ya tell me - Would Jesus wear a rolex
Would Jesus wear a rolex
Would Jesus wear a rolex on His television show
Would Jesus wear a rolex on His television show

You know the funny thing was to me was hearing white conservatives accuse black voters of reverse racism for voting for Obama. I thought it was funny because originally in the primaries, Obama was neck and neck with black voters with Hillary Clinton. There were many prominent Black Americans such as Maya Angelou that endorsed Clinton. Magic Johnson and the CEO of BET were others. I have to say as a young voter what appealed to me and to this day appealed to me about Obama is that he seemed to talk on an even level with younger voters. He came across as reasonable and likable. When I saw Obama speak, I understood what people my dad's age experienced with Kennedy. I've read in history books that JFK was seen as the cool older brother to Ike Eisenhower who was regarded as being more like a grandfather figure.

I can understand that, too. When Bush won his second term, I have to admit, I called a friend and asked, "Who the hell ARE these people, and are they INSANE?"

The 2008 election was the most diverse in history.

The electorate in last year's presidential election was the most racially and ethnically diverse in U.S. history, with nearly one-in-four votes cast by non-whites, according to a new analysis of Census Bureau data by the Pew Research Center.1 The nation's three biggest minority groups -- blacks, Hispanics and Asians -- each accounted for unprecedented shares of the presidential vote in 2008.

Overall, whites2 made up 76.3% of the record 131 million people3 who voted in November's presidential election, while blacks made up 12.1%, Hispanics 7.4% and Asians 2.5%.4 The white share is the lowest ever, yet is still higher than the 65.8% white share of the total U.S. population

Note the third image down, where there is a picture of a guy in front of a crowd, and the Townhall caption reads "A man reads provocative passages from the Koran:"

However, the scene reminds me of the guy who then burnt a page of the Koran. Can some of you check to see if it is that same guy/situation?

Time Magazine has an anti-Israel story promoted on the cover.

Shocka!

'Rhymes With Fagin'
Time magazine adds its voice to the chorus of those attempting to delegitimize the Jewish state.

If you're a reader of a certain age, you might understand the headline.

In May 1977, when Menachem Begin was elected Israel's prime minister, Time magazine set out to describe the man, beginning with the correct pronunciation of his last name: "Rhymes with Fagin," the editors explained, invoking the character from Oliver Twist. Modern Israeli leader; archetypal Jewish lowlife: Get it?

The magazine's other characterization of Begin was that he was "dangerous." A year later, he shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Egypt's Anwar Sadat.

Maybe there's something in the magazine's DNA. This week, readers were treated to a cover story by Karl Vick titled, suggestively, "Why Israel Doesn't Care About Peace." That's one way for Time to address the current state of negotiations between the Jewish state and its neighbors, which otherwise barely rate a mention in the article.

... Nearly every Israeli has a child, sibling, boyfriend or parent in the army. Nearly every Israeli has been to the funeral of a fallen soldier, or a friend killed in a terrorist attack. Most Israeli homes and businesses come equipped with safe rooms or bomb shelters; every Israeli owns a gas mask. The whole country exists under the encroaching shadows of Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, and the prospect of a nuclear Iran. How many Americans, to say nothing of Europeans, can say the same about their own lives?

Yet when it comes to scoring cheap shots against the Jewish state, Time is not the sort of magazine to allow the obvious to disturb a prejudiced hypothesis. Can the magazine point to equally pointed cover stories about internal Palestinian affairs and what, perchance, they mean for the peace process? I checked: It last did so in April 2002 with a largely sympathetic portrait of Yasser Arafat "All Boxed In" by an invading Israeli army.

Those loving peaceful folks in the Pali area are such kind people getting constantly attacked by Israel. Good thing Time is telling us the real story...

Is anyone surprised with this news?

Scientists Find Thick Layer Of Oil On Seafloor

Scientists on a research vessel in the Gulf of Mexico are finding a substantial layer of oily sediment stretching for dozens of miles in all directions. Their discovery suggests that a lot of oil from the Deepwater Horizon didn't simply evaporate or dissipate into the water — it has settled to the seafloor.

The Research Vessel Oceanus sailed on Aug. 21 on a mission to figure out what happened to the more than 4 million barrels of oil that gushed into the water. Onboard, Samantha Joye, a professor in the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Georgia, says she suddenly has a pretty good idea about where a lot of it ended up. It's showing up in samples of the seafloor, between the well site and the coast.

"I've collected literally hundreds of sediment cores from the Gulf of Mexico, including around this area. And I've never seen anything like this," she said in an interview via satellite phone from the boat.

Joye describes seeing layers of oily material — in some places more than 2 inches thick — covering the bottom of the seafloor.

"It's very fluffy and porous. And there are little tar balls in there you can see that look like microscopic cauliflower heads," she says.

It's very clearly a fresh layer. Right below it she finds much more typical seafloor mud. And in that layer, she finds recently dead shrimp, worms and other invertebrates.

What a fucking shame.

Hey, he is a ferner, probably not even Christian. No wonder he is out of touch with those who believe in minimal taxation and government, but a strong military and strict restrictions on abortions and gay rights in the military...

And everybody knows that the best way to stimulate any economy is to let the upper income brackets keep more money to reinvet in well-paiying domestic jobs.

For all its flaws, Star Trek at least had some interesting characters and plot lines that went somewhere. Twilight? Not so much. So, here's D'Souza's big 'anti-colonialist' insight, bolded:

That is one one of the most offensive and blatantly racist things I've read coming from someone who is supposedly an intellectual.

re: #99 jaunte

D'Souza also thinks liberals caused 9/11:

D'Souza is a lying little rat. His latest propaganda includes a claim that "from now on the primary mission of America's space agency would be to improve relations with the Muslim world." Only problem is that that's not what Bolden said at all. He said nothing about that being NASA's "primary mission."

How is this racist? Just because Kenya is in Africa makes this a racist comment? What if Obama were a white guy who's dad was from Sweden and Newt had said that "Obama follows an anti-colonial Swedish World View." Would this be racist? No. So the only reason it's racist is because Kenyans happen to be black? I think it's racist to hold Kenyans to a lower standard than you would if he were Swedish!

Obama is an American, not a Kenyan. Go away and come back with a better talking point.

things found on other blogs relevant to this topic:

Campus Progress demonstrates that Dinesh D'Souza has been publishing appallingly racist material for decades.

Best comment I've seen on Newt (found at another blog):
It's like he forgot his dog whistle at home and thought, "Fuck it, I'll just play the tuba."

re: #327 tnguitarist

I never said he was from Kenya. I am fully aware and acknowledge that he is American. If you read what I wrote, you'll see that I said; "...if Obama were a white guy who's dad was from Sweden..." this implies that I understand that Obama's father is from Kenya.
Again, I don't understand how it's racist to accuse someone of holding a world view that is in alignment with that of a country who's demographics happen to consist of native Africans. Again, how is this racist? Does this mean we can't disagree with a world view held by people from Africa?..because it would be considered racist?
Telling me to "go away" is proof that you've lost the argument.
I welcome your comments....bring 'em.

You know damn good and well what Newt is implying. Explain exactly what a Kenyan world view is. Do you even know where Kenya is?

When did "anti-colonial" become a bad thing? Anti-colonial like our founding fathers?

re: #330 tnguitarist

damn, you got met....I don't know where Kenya is. Maybe I should've researched that a bit more.
I agree, I think anti-colonialism is a good thing. But, I don't think it's racist for someone to disagree.
