once they all find jobs, it’ll all go away. People who aren’t working have to find something to do.

They just need to hold more rallies more frequently…and not on Football Sundays…teabaggers have priorities, too.

They decided to hold a rally in DC on the same day as the Redskins season opener? LOL forever. What a bunch of idiots.

If I lived in or around DC, would I rather spend my day standing around in the hot sun holding pre-made signs or tailgating and drinking beer with friends and family while watching football?

Hmm. I can’t imagine what most people would choose, even if they’re not big football fans.

There are always a Few with Fervor to keep it going. It was just a populist circle jerk to begin with. If you could specifically sum up Tea Partyism, what the hell was it other than anti-Obamaism?

So you don’t want higher taxes…. talk about it instead of acting like children and making stupid fakking signs, letting kooks take it over.

Also, sign fail. Burqas are worn by women, not men. Obama can’t hide a birth certificate under something he wouldn’t wear even if he was Muslim. It’s like suggesting he’s hiding something under his hijab. You have to be completely stupid to think it makes any sense, or that it’s clever.

Over on Cracked, they’re talking about unlikely hobbies of international bad guys. Apparently, Osama bin Laden likes volleyball. Cracked has an idea:

Oh, and throw in the fact that Mohammed Atef, the former chief of Al-Qaeda, also used to be a star volleyball player, but wasn’t allowed to play on the same team as Osama because they were just that good, and we think the United States’ next move is clear: Stage a fake volleyball competition, and arrest the unnaturally skilled giant with the fake beard (over his regular beard).

Restoration by bullet

I’d love to see the Secret Service approach that guy, ask for his identification, inform him that he has the option to put himself on a life-time “watch list” (including being added to the no-fly list) for people who have made veiled threats against the President of the United States, or do something about that stupid sign. Here for the IBC trade show for a couple of days (which was awkwardly placed between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Was only able to spend 3 full days here…)

Maybe the US needs to legalize marijuana, to calm everyone down.

In in real politics…

“Surprisingly, support for the president among Latinos, young people and women has dropped as much as it has among groups that were considered less likely to stick with the president, such as white males, according to an analysis by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.”

The swing voters who turned out in droves to support the president aren’t likely to back his party in November. Even core supporters express unhappiness with Democrats.

Must be a mistake.

While so many people are “concentrating” on the Tea Party and the wacko right wingers, real politics is happening in this country, and this is where the real battle is going on.

Yes, the girl is Iraq, the fair-haired (?) King is Saddam himself, and the cruel husband is the United States of America. And if you actually needed that explanation to get the subtext, you owe your elementary school English teacher a sternly worded note, though you’ll probably need some help writing it. Then again, perhaps we’re being unfair here: We shouldn’t exactly be expecting subtlety from the guy commissioning 30-foot gold statues of himself for every town square in the country.

The real politics are still going on, in spite of the stupidness of the Tea Party or the wingnuts… and that will be the real deciding factors in November. Intelligence usually prevails in these things, not the crazies.

I have no idea where Christians get this notion. There certainly are prohibitions against “Onanism” but Jewish commentators all agree that the punishment for Onan was due to his disobeying G-d’s command. Adultery is a much more serious offense. In any event, one is never accountable for thoughts, only for actions.

(Similarly, if you read even a traditional Orthodox commentary on the story of Sodom, it will stress that the sin of Sodom was inhospitality, and being cruel to a stranger or visitor.)

Sounds like a bad economy to me.

Yeah, didn’t Clinton establish this decades ago?

Pretty simple stuff, really

I have no idea where Christians get this notion.

St Paul seemed to be very conflicted about his own sexuality, and it was picked up and riffed on heavily by the early church fathers

I can’t wait to see who the GOP nominates in 2012. Should be interesting.

Palin? Comedians everywhere would love this since she’d give them fresh material to work with, but she’d wither under the scrutiny, since a Presidential candidate can’t hide from the press and expect to win.
Romney? Hated as a RINO due to Romneycare. No chance in the South because he’s a Mormon.
Huckabee? No chance outside the South because he’s a crazy theocrat.
Luap Nor? LOL. As if.
John Bolton? The ‘stache totally won’t save him. He’s insane.
Tancredo? The Pat Paulsen of the crazy xenophobe right. No chance in hell.
Duncan Hunter? Same as Tancredo— no chance.
Gingrich? El Oh El. Aside from his rotating marriages, he hasn’t had a new idea in the last 20 years. His last idea — shutting down the gubmint — was a disaster.

I honestly can’t see who they’ll go with, especially considering all the Bad Crazy infecting the party these days.
