Sharron Angle to Hispanic Kids: ‘I’m Not Sure Those Are Latinos’ in Her Campaign Ad

Wingnuts • Views: 6,123

Sharron Angle proved yesterday that she’ll lie shamelessly to anyone, telling a group of Hispanic high school students that those images of threatening Latinos in her campaign ad may not be Latinos at all.

Then she went on to make an even more outrageous claim, in a campaign dedicated to race-baiting and fear mongering about “illegal aliens.” She told the Hispanic students that the real problem is our border with Canada.

Jaw-dropping dishonesty and pandering from one of the GOP’s top John Birch Society-affiliated crazy ladies.

Question: Why is it that in all of your commercials you have the image of Latinos? What do you see when you hear, and I quote, “illegal aliens?”

Angle: I think that you’re misinterpreting those commercials. I’m not sure that those are Latinos in that commercial. What it is, is a fence and there are people coming across that fence. What we know is that our northern border is where the terrorists came through. That’s the most porous border that we have. We cannot allow terrorists; we cannot allow anyone to come across our border if we don’t know why they’re coming. So we have to secure all of our borders and that’s what that was about, is border security. Not just our southern border, but our coastal border and our northern border.

Here’s the image that Angle says she’s “not sure” depicts Latinos.

Crazy Pam is now a "civil rights activist" and is threatening vigilante justice to rude Muslims.....
Hate Crime

If this continues -- auxiliary law enforcement will be necessary.

The idea that Muslims would torment and harass an elderly, disabled woman because she is a non-Muslim is debased and grotesque. The writer, a PhD, wrote to her Congressman again because of yet another incident of harassment today, one of many she has had to endure as she walks through a majority Muslim neighborhood in Paterson, NJ:

I plan to share this letter with Pamela Geller, a prominent American Civil Rights activist, so I will repeat information already known to you, Congressman
Pascrell, in order to make the letter fully comprehensible to Ms.
Geller.

I am writing to inform you of the constant harassment, even dangerous
harassment, I endure as I walk the three miles from my apartment ...

am moved to write today because a man seated at one of the many
sidewalk chairs on Main Street impeded my ability to walk down the
street, and called out, "Look out! Look out! Here comes Jesus Christ!"
as I approached on the sidewalk. This man, about sixty, speaking with
a heavy Turkish accent, with face stubble, began to repeatedly make
body motions with his hands across his face and chest in a mockery of
the act of a Christian blessing oneself.
....
This is a constant occurrence on this Muslim-dominated stretch of
road. In the past, I have been mocked by other religious names. Once a
much younger man, in a group of men speaking Arabic, stopped me, and
mocked me as "Moses," as his friends surrounded me. On another
occasion, witnessed by a police officer, a Muslim man hit me with his
SUV, knocking me to the ground. The police officer took and filed a
full report.

As you know, I am an older woman, and physically handicapped. I need a
cane to walk. These Muslim men target an older, physically
handicapped, isolated American woman for their abuse.
...
I want you
to think about this when you consider matters pertaining to
immigration, to multiculturalism, and to the repeated refrains that
Muslims are subject to "hate crimes" in America. Certainly a man
stopping me on a sidewalk and mocking Christianity is a hate crime.

re: #39 Killgore Trout

The entire story smells fishy. Respect for elders is a big deal in both Islamic and Arab cultures, even more so if the elder is disabled or infirm. If it was just one guy supposedly doing the harassing, I could chalk it up to him being either mentally ill or simply a jackass, but several people? No way.

In addition, Islam insists that Muslims respect & revere ALL the prophets of "the people of the book" (Jews & Christians), so the notion that they would mock someone by calling them Jesus (a.s.) or Moses (a.s.) is B.S. We're not even supposed to utter or write the name of one of the prophets without following it with "alayhi salam", meaning "peace be upon him" (hence the a.s. in parentheses).

Last but not least, some guy assualts an elderly disabled woman with an SUV in front of a cop, and the cop just files a report instead of hauling him off to jail?? Puhleez.

Here's a pic from 2010. Not Old, Not Elderly, still employed as a professor and claims not to be racist....
Addressing Polish stereotypes

Author and scholar Danusha V. Goska came to CCSU to give her “Fiedorczyk” otherwise known as “Brute Polak” lecture, poking holes at stereotypes to a receptive audience Thursday night.

Particularly in the United States, stereotyping of different people is commonplace and unfortunately, socially acceptable, she said.
...
She discussed the toxic nature of stereotypes and pointed out that “If you think stereotypically, you will stereotype everyone, including yourself.”

Professor M.B. Biskupski, the S.A. Blejwas Chair of Polish American Studies introduced Goska, who teaches at William Paterson University. Biskupski has dedicated his academic career to “setting straight the misinformation about Poles,” according to CCSU media relations officer Janice Palmer.

Republicans are never going to get the Hispanic vote by acting like this and then they'll wonder why when they start losing elections as more Hispanics become part of the electorate.

Good point. Hispanics will begin to enter the electorate at an accelerated pace for two reasons. First, the Hispanic population is disproportionately young, meaning a lot of them aren't eligible to vote...yet.

Second, there is a much higher percentage of the Hispanic population that hasn't gained citizenship yet, but is on that path.

But the gop is only thinking about the bottom line now. By the time their exclusionary tactics blow up in their faces, most of today's Republicans will be retired or dead. So why should they care?

I guess they're having a hard time getting "these people" to agree to be called one thing. At the local Albertson's, the aisle with the refried beans and hot sauce has gone from "Latino Foods" to "Hispanic Foods" to "Sauces". They didn't even try "Mexican", which given the location (New Mexico) might have been the most accurate.
