Joe Miller’s Unlicensed Security Guards and the Alaska Citizens Militia

Wingnuts • Views: 5,311

The unlicensed security firm hired by Alaskan Tea Party loon Joe Miller, Dropzone Security Services, is run by William F. Fulton, a “commander” of the “Alaska Citizens Militia” — a group so rabid and extreme the leader, Norman E. Olson, was thrown out of the Michigan Militia.

How extreme do you have to be to wind up on the far right of the Michigan Militia? This extreme: Revealed: Joe Miller hired security company whose owner is local commander and supplier of extreme Alaska militia, led by AIP-member Norm Olson.

Read the whole thing; you won’t believe how crazy these people are; there are also ties to the Alaska Independence Party, the secessionist group to which Todd Palin belonged.

Oh, the good old days, when nobody thought Tod Palin’s tryst with the secessionists was any big thang. No, just an indication of a larger agenda, that’s all.

These people are riled up and ready to go at the drop of a pin. Believe it.

The article I posted shows that Miller lied about the school insisting on him having security, by the way:

But the school district said there was no such requirement made of Miller — he only had to provide a hall and parking lot monitor, and advise participants of school district courtesy and food rules.

I bet the school just wanted a person to direct traffic, and another guy directing people where to sit.

The idea that you need shaven-headed heavies to run a political forum in a middle school is a great example of projection at work.

And, moreover, there is still the issue of the force used against the reporter being inappropriate. You are not allowed, as a private citizen, or as a security guard, to use more force than is used against you except for the minimal force necessary to escort someone off a property. You are definitely, definitely not allowed to use force to restrain someone unless you have observed them committing a felony. There was no possible felony committed by the reporter.

They’re definitely liable in civil terms. In criminal terms, I’d say they are, too, but that’s a matter of state law and I don’t know AK. But it’d be really weird if you were allowed to simply handcuff people to chairs after misdemeanor offenses. And the ‘security guard’ didn’t identify himself, so there was no reason to believe he actually was acting with proper authority.

I wonder how many Tea Party candidates deep down (or maybe not so deep down) want to use the Putin model of dealing with unfriendly Media?

According to an article by John Crowfoot from the International Federation of Journalists, over 150 journalists have been murdered in Russia since 1993. For murders occurring in Moscow, only 7 trials have taken place resulting in 4 convictions and 3 acquittals.

Since 2001, four journalists from “Novaya gazeta,” an independent newspaper that often criticizes the Kremlin, have been murdered, including Anna Politkovskaya.

Thankfully, we’re not at this point yet, but I worry we’re creeping closer to it.

a hardy perennial, and olson’s not the only one selling it. why do you think beck is having so much success flogging gold and k-rations?

“I’m convinced that times are coming when we are going to have to repel federal aggression, tyrannical oppressive federal aggression. They’re going to want to quell any kind of uprising, because it’s bad for politics,” Olson was quoted as saying.

therefore it’s ok for them to break the law and have powerful superiority fantasies like a bunch of insecure teenagers swaggering around in their first gang

That’s just what they believe. If people don’t vote for them it’s because the Federal Government brainwashed them or threatened them or rigged the voting machines, or just took the votes, dumped them in a landfill and announced the result ‘FedGov’ wanted. Or the voters were people who are stooges of ‘FedGov’.

Wow… Palingates is quite the site. I trust a lot of info on there, but there is a couple points worth debating. For instance, have you seen the ‘babygate’ videos on the site? I don’t see the conspiracy they are pushing, even in the comparrison pics. I don’t think Trig is Bristol’s kid. There are some weird inconsistancies, but at worst, I think Palin was trying to self-abort her own kid… But that may even be a stretch. I have to admit they are pretty compelling though. What do you guys think? Palingates batty or sane?

Under Alaska law, they should likely face assault charges (assault in the 4th degree - a misdemeanor offense at a minimum) and disorderly conduct. Also, Alaska doesn’t appear to have a typical false imprisonment statute seen in other states, but I could have missed it listed here.

I think it’s kinda disgusting. Truthfully, I wondered at first if she faked her pregnancy only to protect her daughter, but that was proven to be just a strange set of circumstances/coincidences. And I don’t believe she did anything to self-abort, given her rabid pro-life mantra. That kind of speculation is pretty sick and out there, really. Even for her.

There’s plenty of other things she’s lied about, and will continue to lie about (because she’s a liar), but I think she’s in the clear there.

re: #47 Decatur Deb

I just find it interesting that an otherwise credible website is championing the cause of Trig’s ‘true’ paternity. I mean when you spend some time on Palingates, you see a lot of seemingly good information on Palin, Miller, AIP, the Alaskan Militias, and even the Koch brothers. Yet there is this ‘babygate’ story that sullies their reputation… yet also seems to be the reason the website was created to begin with. It begs some questions… Is Palingates credible? Can you cite a site that has 99% good info, with 1% conspiratorial crap? I had that issue with this site (admittedly to a much much lesser degree) as I never, and still don’t, support the war in Iraq, and I tend to be pretty critical of Israel’s policies- while this site tends to support the war, and to cheerlead a bit for Israel. Those opinions, though not fringe, are antithetical to what I believe, yet I have referred people to visit LGF on many occasions for good opinion and consolidated information… But Should I, or anyone else concerned with accuracy and moderation, refer anyone to Palingates? This is a quandary for me. If it was just an ‘intellectual argument’ they banter around over there, that would be one thing, but it is a constant crusade by their members to ‘free trig.’ It’s a bit much. It’s embarrassing… and given all the scandals and gaffes that Palin has under her belt, it seems unnecessary to pursue. I don’t know, any thoughts (if this thread is still active)…?

It’s like Sullivan, he’s obsessed with the subject too. It doesn’t make any sense to me.

I don’t think there’s any meat to the story, because the amount of people necessary for the coverup would be huge.

I’m really divided. I think it would be crazy for it to be a cover up - I don’t know how you could reasonably expect to get away with it. On the other hand, as someone said - this *is* Palin. She thinks she can get away with saying the exact opposite of what really happened, and is on record as having happened.

But the problem I have with Palin, aside from the questions - and I do think some of them are legitimate even though there’s that “conspiracy” aura around them - is that her water broke at 4 am, she called her doctor, her doctor did not tell her to get her rear end to the nearest hospital, she went to her governors’ convention, gave her speech while in labour, and then GOT ON TWO PLANES and took a 12 HOUR FLIGHT home.

To most mothers who have actually been in labor - and keeping in mind this was her fifth kid and she says she knew he was DS before he was born - that is b*tsh*t crazy. I’ve been in labor twice and there’s no way I’d be giving a speech and getting “big laughs” while I was having “big contractions” (her words). Even when you’re in early labor, you have to stop and breathe through contractions. When you’re in active labor, you are not thinking about getting laughs or delivering a speech. You’re thinking, “Oh, God, oh, God, please let this kid come soon!” And if you’re truly worried about the health and the premature status of your baby, again, you’re not thinking about a speech. You’re thinking, “Oh God, oh, God, where’s the nearest hospital, he’s a month early, I hope he’s going to be okay!”

And - her fifth kid. Most 2nd and later kids come faster than kid #1. She had to have known that. My mom’s 5th kid came 2.5 hours from her water breaking. She did not have time to deliver a speech and then take 2 flights for 12 hours, believe me.

If the kid *is* hers and she’s not covering up her daughter’s pregnancy, somehow that’s worse to me, because she took so many risks with his life in that 24 hr period. I’d actually rather know that it was her daughter’s kid and she was just trying to help her out - as a mom, I can understand that. As a mom, I can’t understand water breaking at 4 am, giving a speech in the afternoon while in labor, then flying 12 hours home just so my premature special needs kid will be born in Alaska. She passed a hospital from the governors’ convention on the way to the airport. What the heck was wrong with that hospital? Just to get checked out? Was the baby really not that important?

My sister just had PROM at 33 wks. As soon as there was an indication that her water broke, they socked her in the hospital and they left her there, on bed rest, steroids, and antibiotics, for two weeks until the baby was born (thankfully healthy with no problems).

Palin is the reason that my husband and I moved away from the Republican ticket in 2008. My husband is a veteran and has voted Republican most of his life. He would have voted for McCain. I’m not sure I would have - I will confess I usually voted Libertarian - but neither he nor I could stomach Palin, let alone take her seriously, and her story about going into labor and then flying home while in labor was a big part of that even before other stuff (Troopergate, the 150k spent on clothes) started to surface. That did not display the kind of judgment we expected to see in *any* parent, let alone an elected official a heartbeat away from the nuclear button.

I am constantly amazed at how many ostensibly pro-life people don’t seem to question the fact that by her own admission her water broke, she was in labor, and she got on a plane and flew 12 hours while in labor. That is, like, the opposite of pro life. To me. As a parent.
