Single Flat-Out Dumbest Wingnut Post of the Day

Wingnuts • Views: 24,841

In the non-stop deluge of Obama Derangement Syndrome that pours daily out of the right wing blogosphere, one site regularly stands out for its excessive, extravagant dim-wittedness. One blog is a beacon of stupidity, a shining symbol of what can be achieved by an illiterate religious fanatic boiling with crazed hatred and homophobia in the swamp that passes for right wing commentary, a blogger whose exceptionally thick-headed posts are often turned into Fox News items and cited with approval by all the top wingnuts.

I’m referring, of course, to the renowned Jim “Dim” Hoft, otherwise known as “Gateway Pundit,” the cretin who once accused me of “supporting child porn in schools” because I criticized his use of an anti-gay hate site as a source. Hoft writes his blog under the auspices of First Things, the right wing Catholic site founded by Richard John Neuhaus — and Hoft’s unrelenting idiocy seems to sit just fine with them.

Case in point: today Hoft mustered his considerable writing and analysis powers to come up with our Single Flat-Out Dumbest Wingnut Post of the Day: BUMMER. Kid Dresses Up as Obama Joker For White House Halloween Party.

To set the scene: at the White House Halloween party, kids in costume are filing past Obama as he hands out gift packages; there’s a princess, a detective, a ghost, a skeleton, and then, an African American kid wearing the Joker face paint from the enormously popular Batman movie, The Dark Knight.

Of course, as soon as Hoft sees a black face wearing Joker makeup, it can only mean one thing in his alleged mind: it’s an Obama Joker!

Hoft’s ham-handed graphic rams the point home, in case anyone missed it:

President and Michelle Obama greeted kids for Halloween at the White House.

They didn’t expect this…

One of the kids dressed as Obama Joker.

The kid forgot to write “Socialist” on his T-shirt.

The president pushed the poor child on his way.

Here’s the video. President Obama doesn’t “push” anyone, and he doesn’t even react to the Joker mask. Why should he? It’s Halloween, and the kid picked a scary mask from a Batman movie.

But the dumbly racist “Obama Joker” image is so iconic to fools like Hoft that they’ve apparently forgotten where it came from.

This story is now being pushed by both Fox Nation and Glenn Beck’s fake news site The Blaze, proving once again that it’s impossible to be too stupid for right wing media.

UPDATE at 11/1/10 3:18:18 pm:

But wait … it gets even better, because in this higher quality video posted by the White House, you can clearly see that the kid wasn’t wearing Joker makeup at all — it was a Grim Reaper costume (h/t Gus 802). The section in question starts at about 1:50.

Yeah good catch, plus it looks like he's wearing a black hoody or something like that. I don't see how Holt sees anything political about the kid's costume but as I said these people see Obama and his "evil" in everything.

So what is even the point? That a little kid did the Joker thing (maybe) and.... what? Was that little kid (who looks like he's all of 5 years old) supposedly mocking the president? Emulating him? Or is this guy just an asshole trying to pick on a little kid having fun at Halloween?

using a little kid in order to be utterly disrespectful to the president...which is just as low as what you said. it's just so distasteful.

I've seen it myself...but I'll only give you the information off-the-record, on deep, deep background; attribute these 'facts' to an 'anonymous source' and I'll give you more."

The sad thing is I can easily see that happening on yahoo news. I mentioned this already last week but I read about my grandfather's home county, Slovenia electing its first black mayor recently and the Obama whine bots were there to say "Slovenia I hope your first black mayor doesn't turn out like our first black president." OT but because the right wing blogs were claiming that Stewart/Colbert's rally was smaller than Beck's, Metro is reporting that this was the highest amount of people that have rode the metro in nearly twenty years or so. And I can attest from being there that I've never really experienced anything like this. It already happens on Yahoo. Every single article - whether it's about rainforest frogs or Lady Gaga's hairstyle - has dozens of posts about Obama, taxes, Obamacare, socialism or the Democrats. And usually those are among the first comments on the article.

I often have to shoo the second graders at my school outside. "Stop listening to Alex Jones! Stop blogging conspiracy theories about Obama! Go outside and play in the fresh air!

Wait a minnit. I don't. They're already outside, playing kickball. And they think Obama is super.

re: #76 Obdicut

Useless trivia moment: The Mongolian idiom for people you're related to only distantly, by marriage or association, is "Black bone".

I guess that would be me, then. Gramma said Genghis Khan rode through the neighborhood (Slovenia) and raped all the women, and that's why my skin has a slight yellowish cast. Doesn't get much more distant than that.

80 BlarneyStone  Mon, Nov 1, 2010 3:11:04pm

Wow, really letting the racism all hang out in the Fox comments. Yes, the neighborhood around the WH is black...this might have something to do with...I don't know...our 250-year history including slavery, segregation, housing discrimination, and suburban sprawl.

Racist comments at foxnews.com:

And, no white kids, I notice.

In keeping with neighborhoods all across America, the minorities were bussed in from their own ghettos to affluent neighborhoods for 'trick or treat'.

I didn't see one white kid. Imagine if this was reversed... that is why I want him to lose the most in 2012. He's doing it all wrong in there for being the first semi-Black president if you ask me.

The posters on Gateway Pundit are also mentioning that most of the kids are black. The fact that most of the kids that live near the white house are black seems to have escaped them.
Had he limited the event to the kids of the DC elite rather than inner city kids they would bitch about that too.

It's DC. You're either black or you're a member of Congress. A few people are exceptions to this, and a few people overlap, but seriously...I've been to DC. It's a pretty black town.

Odd, I don't recall the Joker having skeleton fingers like the kid's costume does. The white face paint makes more sense too, unless black folk have black skulls too.

Exactly. Wingnuts beclown themselves once again. The other thing too was that this was local school kids (DC) and military families.

Sarah Palin’s Very Un-Presidential Level Of (Im)Maturity

Apparently, that Politico piece that James Joyner wrote about this morning has Sarah Palin a little upset:

On Monday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin mocked her media detractors – Politico, specifically — as “puppy-kicking, chain-smoking porn-producers” for their heavy use of anonymous sources in a quote as memorable as Spiro Agnew’s “nattering nabobs of negativism.”

Hehe... "puppy-kicking, chain-smoking porn-producers"

I wouldn't go that far to say that but DC is a predominately black city but most of the whtie people who live in DC are mostly young professionals without kids.

Right at 1:50 you'll see the kid. It's skull make-up not "The Joker." I can't tell what the costume itself is. I'm downloading the MP4.

Latest outrageous outrage, complete with hypocrisy levels going absolutely off the charts:

Boehner Blasts Obama’s ‘Enemies’ Line

House Minority Leader John Boehner, the Ohio Republican poised to become House speaker if his party regains the majority on Tuesday, plans to blast President Barack Obama at an election rally later today for describing his political opponents as “enemies” during an interview with Univision radio.

“Mr. President, there’s a word for people who have the audacity to speak up in defense of freedom, the Constitution and the values of limited government that made our country great,” Mr. Boehner is set to tell an audience in Cincinnati tonight. “We don’t call them ‘enemies.’ We call them patriots.”

“We have a president in the White House who referred to Americans who disagree with him as ‘our enemies,’” Mr. Boehner’s speech says. “Think about that. He actually used that word. When Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush used the word ‘enemy,’ they reserved it for global terrorists and foreign dictators – enemies of the United States.”

Never mind that President Obama was speaking to Hispanic voters, who Republicans ran an ad targeted to them telling them "Don't vote".
Also, pay no attention to the rightwing drumbeat for the past several years specifically calling anyone who disagreed with them anti-American, traitors, enemies of the state, and just about every other phrase in the book.

Anyone who seriously thinks Obama was being racist by having black kids trick or treat at the white house is delusional and stupid as hell. It's a heavily black city. Yeah, there are whites who live in DC but msot of them are young professionals without kids. Seriously fuck these people. They always say people like me on the left see racism in everything and yet they do the same to every occurence Obama's involved in. The comment about bussing the minority kids from the ghettos is really outrageous too.

The more substantial mis-justice is that those who reside in DC don't have full representation in our supposedly democratically determined nation.

And yes, I claim it is a sign of racism.

No arguments from me here at all. There's no reason why the people in DC shouldn't have representation in govermnent and the Republican party has been the largest voice against doing that.

Oh cry me a river Boehner. Seriously it must be tough being Boehner being full of that much bullshit.

Does anyone know if Ohio stands to lose another seat or two in the House as part of the reapportionment after the 2010 Census?

I ask because Boehner's home is in the very southern corner of his district, and it would be soooooooo easy to assign his home to my district, which borders it to the south. It's about the only way to get Boehner out of his House seat--assign his residence to another district. His current district is as Republican as they come in Ohio.

It's a dream I have, nothing more. Alas.

I'm sad to say that this will be the first election cycle where I won't vote for a single Republican candidate or initiative. I've left the camp, or its left me. Nothing left in that party but corporatists, secessionists, bigots, and young-earthers. I'll be weeping when I vote this year.
