Obama: ‘I Don’t Think About Sarah Palin’

Politics • Views: 24,911

In an interview with Barbara Walters, the President said he doesn’t think about Sarah Palin.

When asked specifically if he thinks he can beat Sarah Palin in 2012, the president told Walters “I don’t think about Sarah Palin.”

“Obviously Sarah Palin has a strong base of support in the Republican Party and I respect those skills,” Obama said. “But I spend most of my time right now on how I can be the best possible president. And my attitude has always been, from the day I started this job that if I do a good job and if I’m delivering for the American people the politics will take care of itself.

“If I falter and the American people are dissatisfied, then I’ll have problems,” he said.

“Well it’s obvious the president doesn’t think about me because I represent the real american people and Obama doesn’t think about them either.”

no snark, i would put money on it.

I believe this. Obama speaks optimistically, but I don’t think he spends a lot of time in personal indulgence.

And thinking about how easy it’d be to beat Sarah Palin is a big personal indulgence. I bet whenever it creeps into his consciousness he smiles just a little, for a second, as a montage of turkeys being killed, her failing to shoot properly, and her tweet supporting North Korea flashes across his mind.

That’s a good answer, to a point. I would say he’s already faltered and he’s already got problems, but who, as president, doesn’t trip up once or twice?

As they say he’s the only president we’ve got and we can only wish him the best of success in performing the duties of his office. This is distinct from success at passing every part of his own party’s agenda, which has now become impossible.

Actually, I think that response from Obama amounted to a very British put-down. Indirectly, discretely, tactfully, and wittily, he draws attention to how good Palin is at drawing attention to herself, and by implication and comparison, how not-much-good she is at anything substantive.

Breaking: Tom DeLay found guilty in money laundering trial

A Texas jury says it has reached a verdict in the money laundering trial of former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. They have found him guilty on both counts.

The panel of six men and six women told Senior Judge Pat Priest on Wednesday it has made a decision. The verdict came after 29 hours of deliberations.

DeLay is charged with money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering. He faces up to life in prison.

I am still laughing, he got the gimme question wrong. The Shima, the prayer which says that there is only One God, and that he is our God. Luddy scored a rousing 50%.

But here is the one you got wrong the worst.

You asked which central prayer is said three times a day. That is the Shimona Esrai.

The Shema, is said twice per day. It is said at Shacharit and Maariv. It isn’t in Mincha. You might know that if you had ever been to schul. I am not going to say you aren’t Jewish. I really don’t know about the state of your mother. However, it seems pretty clear that you have never heard of the Shimona Esrai. That is that really long prayer in the middle of the service that people generally say silently. That is said three times a day. It is also the heart of any service.

What we learn from this is just how pathetic the stalkers really are. It takes a special person to somehow think he has any Jewish knowledge at all to make such a pathetic test and then write such garbage.

I really don’t know if this person is actually Jewish or not, However, it is really obvious he has never been in a schul in his life if he does not know about the Shimona Esrai.

What is even more tragic is that he might be Jewish, and is actually that ignorant. Please, please, if you are not Jewish, please do not ever think that a cretin like this speaks for the faith.

freeperville just now:

A Republican can’t count on a fair trial in Travis County. That’s why the Democrats set it up to have the political trials there (the republicans have been too gutless to change it since they took over.)

So the verdict shouldn’t surprise anyone.

This persecution of Tom Delay is beyond unbelievable. Every politician could be convicted of money laundering with these standards. Perhaps politics should be illegal.

Show trial by a political prosecutor in a leftist jurisdiction.

I don’t believe he’s guilty but the jury verdict stands. I hope/pray he wins on appeal.

Regardless, this presents an opportunity to prosecute numerous Demo0crats for similar and worse abuses or the system. Failure to do that negates efforts to ‘clean up’ congress and hold them accountable. IF Delay can be convicted on such flimsy evidence, surly Pelosi, Franks, Dodd, Reid and others deserve similar scrutiny.

My favorite

I’m not here to defend wrongdoing. I still find it somewhat difficult to believe that standing out front of an election precinct with a night-stick is okay, and conducting fund-raising as it’s been done for decades, is not.

With us it seems to be letter of the law, and with the Left it seems always to be attributable to a simple misunderstanding.

Equal justice? Sure, and ACORN is just another wholesome entity on the American scene.

Manages to lump ACORN and the big scary Black Panther (who no one reports intimidated their vote) into the same “Mommy, mommy, they started it” post.

That takes talent.

N.J. anti-Facebook pastor taking leave over affair
He steps down after admitting to a three-way sexual relationship

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — A pastor who barred church officials from using Facebook, saying it can lead to adultery, is temporarily stepping down from the pulpit following his admission that he engaged in a three-way sexual relationship a decade ago.

The Rev. Cedric Miller made worldwide headlines last week when he urged congregants at his Living Word Christian Fellowship Church in Neptune, N.J., to drop their Facebook accounts because he believes the social networking site facilitates affairs.

Days later, Miller offered to step down after The Asbury Park Press reported on a 10-year-old affair of his own involving a three-way sexual relationship with his wife and a male church assistant.

On Wednesday, Miller told The Associated Press that he would be “taking some time off” following a church vote Tuesday night on his status as senior pastor. He said he will resume his pastorate “eventually.”

He says church members gave him a vote of confidence, subject to some restrictions he wouldn’t list.

The church had no immediate comment.

To all of those who either work tomorrow or have a loved one working: I’m thankful that those who are truly needed will make the sacrifice and work. To those in retail and whatnot: that sucks. I don’t need to shop while the turkey cooks. It might be nice to be able to run out and pick up an extra pound of broccoli, but I’d rather the employees got to stay home and I’d find something else to cook… We’ve been through both in our family over the years.

Toronto for me I think. Though I am debating with Miss S. about New Zealand.

Montreal is a fantastic city, as is Toronto, but NZ is incredible (don’t know if you’ve been there). Spent two months plus there a while back, hitchhiking and backpacking pretty much over most of both islands.

The geographical diversity packed into such a small area is amazing. You can walk from the ocean, through subtropical rainforest, through alpine meadows, to glacier fields in a couple of days. And the landscape is very uncommercialized. A couple of hours out of Auckland, where some 80% of the population lives, the major road is a two-lane highway with one-lane bridges. 4 million people and 40 million sheep.

As a rule, the cities leave a bit to be desired, but the people and the landscape are world class.

Wait, KT, you mean Chen is like a super secret double double agent?

No, I think he’s just an asshole. He’s kind of a sociopath. While posting on LGF he was also sending tips to the leftist LGF watch. I think he just shits on whatever he can just for kicks. It gives him some sort of thrill to befriend people and fuck with them. The stalker wingnuts are too stupid to notice he’s fucking with them.

Wait, does that mean he doesn’t wake up with a stiffy and a bad case of the sweats after a dream where Sarah has him tied down and is spanking him with a stuffed Otter’s tail?

Damn, and here I thought everyone had that dream (even the women).

///

To all the pre: #156 Killgore Trout

Btw, I just figured out something from the stalker blog. I checked in to see if they had any reaction to the growing acceptance on 9-11 from Fox, drudge and Republicans. No response but Chenzen is fucking with the stalkers with some convoluted story about comments disappearing on old lgf threads and mysteriously reappearing. as an example he links to this old thread: Mainstreaming 9/11 Conspiracy
In which those now flounced lizards were once outraged by 9-11 truthers back in 2007. Today they get their “news” from a truther network. The wingnuts are too stupid to notice Chen Zen is mocking them.

Travelling in the Vale of Deficient Connectivity again. Happy Thanksgiving to all, if I don’t get back on for a while. On Topic—I just spent two pre-holiday runs through a Walmart grocery near Birmingham. While waiting in the miserable lines, I got to read the covers of about 40 magazines and tabloids. Of the 200 or so cover articles, ONE was about a Palin, attacking SP for wrecking DWTS. Perhaps a lot of people have stopped thinking about Sarah.

For the record, in case you are curious about stalkerology,

Flyovercounrty is yet another Snork sock. It was the smilies and the fact that flyovercountry was a dig at me in an earlier post of his - well that and he is the single most consistently stupid person who could be so very wrong in just the ways he was so wrong, and not see it or feel no shame at all that he was talking out of his bottom.

So for the record, Larry posts at the various stalker sites as:

Larry
Snork
Iapyx
My little Ponytail
Flyovercountry

and possibly,
Guy with actual science degrees

Now we know that Larry is a full on retard. But what I want to point out here is that Larry is so very insecure that he has to post as multiple people to himself at the same little blog. How insecure and pathetic is that? He needs 5 of himself to feel secure and even that is not enough.

So the verdict shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Ah, yes. The old standby of Austin being nothing but a bunch of hippies and liberals. That figures.

Yes, Travis County is a merciful island of blue surrounded by an ocean of red in this state, but it’s hardly a bastion of far-left thought. There are plenty of folks around here who get their information from Alex Jones and his radio show, not to mention all the Ron Paul bumper stickers I see on a daily basis. Plus, there are plenty of Republicans in Austin. It just so happens they don’t like Tom DeLay either, because he’s an asshole.

re: #191 calochortus

There are several cases where the evidence that resulted in the conviction has been shown to be so deeply flawed or flat out wrong that it doesn’t indicate guilt. Google “Innocent Texas Man Executed” for examples

That wasn’t my question. The question was cases in which it is a settled, established, indisputable fact that the convicted and executed man really truly didn’t do it.

The link that another person gave, to the case of a man who escaped a fire in which his children died, is a good example of “not what I asked”. He was at the scene of the fire. Going by his personality and criminal record, it’s a distinct possibility that he set the fire. It’s also a distinct possibility that he didn’t, and so he shouldn’t have been convicted. But if magically a tape were discovered showing exactly what happened that day, you wouldn’t bet your life that tape showed him innocent.

The question of whether men have been executed whose trials were defective, and who might possibly have been innocent, is a different question. Clearly, and most unfortunately, that has happened.

232 Glenn Beck's Grand Unifying Theory of Obdicut  Thu, Nov 25, 2010 4:43:42pm

re: #231 lostlakehiker

It’s a pretty inane question. There are no times that someone has been tried for a murder that someone else has already been executed for, so how would this ‘settled, established, indisputable fact’ be reached?

There are certainly tons of cases in American history of black men being executed in the South based on nearly nothing.

thetandd.com

In this case, the one person who framed them for the murder confessed to other inmates to being the real murderer himself. That’s pretty settled, established proof, especially since the men were posthumously pardoned.
