Speaking of outer space, has Barrett Brown found the terrible secret of LGF yet in those private emails of mine that he was going to reveal to the world?

Thanks, William Castleman, for giving me a beautiful rendition of an event that the rain washed out for me in real time.

I was in Amsterdam for a solar eclipse eight or nine years ago. It was wonderful. The whole city came to a complete halt. People wandered around the streets loaning one another special “eclipse glasses” or teaching their children about what was happening.

It didn’t get completely dark, but the light got kind of green, like it sometimes does before a really major thunderstorm only more so.

No, because you would NEVER reveal it.
(Crosses fingers in hope!)
LOL!

That must have been the eclipse of 1999? I saw totality in Southern Germany (and two other eclipses in other parts of the world). As fascinating as the sun is, I found the most captivating part of it seconds before totality is reached. Suddenly the colors of this world are bleached out, a ghostly white light, a light of death.

I can understand people who travel from eclipse to eclipse just to experience these few minutes.

It’s good to know that the sun will come back in a few minutes.

Love the 2x doubler stack. LOL.Someday I want to put my best camera body on a good telescope at Griffith, or Wilson. That would be very cool. Guys come out with the Celestrons and sidereal tracking motors. Camera tracks the planet or stars, no motion blur.

I love the term pantywaist as an insult. Not used enough.

Damn…… I’ll never bitch about changing the kitchen light bulb again…. as long as the wife steadies the step ladder for me. If Ludwig is back it’s the “curley que” one….. if not it’s just a regular bulb.

I really liked the poster earlier today, who thought BB thought he was Christopher Hitchens! Go get some experience, kiddo!

Me too! And I feel terrible because I was a part of the conversation that got heated and earned him a time out. I really enjoyed his contributions.

re: #23 prairiefire

You can’t MAKE people post.
Maybe he’s doing something absolutely fabulous, and hasn’t a thought for LGF in his mind. I hope so, and wish him well.

Asking after an absent poster isn’t going to make it appear.

I wouldn’t mind if he could tone it down some.

re: #26 HoosierHoops

Controversial topic that got everyone a little heated. But nothing personal. I really do appreciate LVQ’s passion, but sometimes passion makes people unintentionally offensive. I understand that because I am one of those people.

I think it’s really rude to discuss a poster who is not here to defend himself.
That is my two cents, and is worth what you paid to get it.
