Robert Gibbs Resigning As White House Press Secretary

Politics • Views: 15,427

The big political news of the day so far is that Robert Gibbs is resigning.

Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary and close confidante to President Obama, said Wednesday that he was stepping down to become an outside political adviser to the president and his re-election campaign.

Mr. Gibbs said that he intended to leave in early February. His successor has not yet been decided, he said, but will likely be announced within the next two weeks.

Being the POTUS mouthpiece is not as easy of a job as it looks. Few people made it look good.

I'm sure some will make this into a crushing defeat for Obama some how.

Yes because as we all Sknow Bush started and ended his two terms as president with the same Press Secretary working for him all 8 years....

Two years is sort of typical. It is a burnout job.

Also: proposed filibuster reforms.

F*** sorry, if that came across as an insult Tony Snow was the only one who I could recall because he had easy to recall nickname ("Snow Job") so I wasn't trying to insult him personally in any way shape or form.

Here is the full list from Wikipedia...

2003–2006 Scott McClellan
2006–2007 Tony Snow

GOP Plans To Implement The 'Demon Pass' They Once Decried

Back in March 2010, House Democrats were toying with using a similar process to pass health care reform. They were considering the Senate health care package, which they hated, and a package of amendments to that bill, which they liked. To square those views, they wanted to set up a procedural vote, which, if agreed to, would "deem" both bills passed at once. "Deem" and "pass."

This quickly became known as "Demon Pass," or the "Slaughter Solution," named after House Rules Chair Louise Slaughter. Republicans rebelled, and conservatives went off the deep end. Radio talk show host Mark Levin called it "100 times worse than Watergate."
