Glenn Beck’s Gun - Update: Beck Deletes the Gun

Wingnuts • Views: 38,563

A classic example of right wing cognitive dissonance, from the site of raving freakazoid nut sandwich Glenn Beck:

Credit: StopBeck.

And no, this is not a Photoshop. Here’s the background image at Glenn Beck’s site. It’s a random image, chosen from about 20 different backgrounds.

Notice that he has his finger on the trigger, violating the first rule of firearm safety.

UPDATE at 1/10/11 1:55:23 pm:

Unbelievable! They deleted the image. Oh no, that doesn’t look like a guilty conscience at all.

Unfortunately for Beck, I saved a copy before they threw it down the memory hole.

He shoots his mouth off all the time, so I it's not that much of a stretch, but since he has his foot in his mouth most of the time, they're pretty much the same thing.

Come on. Even if you can't manage consistency, don't run the stories NEXT TO one another. Try sequential. It's easier for idiots to grasp mutually exclusive ideas sequentially.

Charles,

I think the saving of pages will be foiled by claiming that they are all photoshopped in the future: changes will be made immediately then the claim made. This area of technology is not my expertise.

Is this feasible to make this claim or is a saved page a damning piece of evidence? Do you merely 'copy/print page' to a jpg?

I might pick up the hobby myself....

Me neither, but I never thought Seinfeld was all that funny, either, and was unable to even sit through an episode of Friends, so I must lack the popular entertainment gene.

Instapundit has a new dumb talking point on Palin's crosshairs....

TIM BLAIR: “Funny thing about those crosshairs. They ain’t crosshairs. These are crosshairs. The images shown on Palin’s map are crop marks, commonly used in printing.”

Somebody tell Andrew Sullivan so he can climb down from that limb of libelous rhetoric. Actually, I think he’s forgotten how. You’d think that a man who once edited a magazine would know something about typography. But then, the snarling underpants-gnome-theorist of today is a much diminished version of that man.

Seriously, even at a campus like OU, there must be rational center-left school organizations. Whether it's Young Dems, LGBT orgs, women's and minority groups, whatever, you're definitely not alone. Join up. Not only do these groups actively oppose the TP, they tend to throw great parties.

And how he tells his viewers about how the worst can happen, while those who play politics with violence don't believe the worst can happen... From the OU website:
Facts

OU ranks number one in the nation among all public universities in the number of National Merit Scholars enrolled per capita with a record 222 National Merit Scholars in this year’s freshman class – 26 more than the previous OU record.

The Princeton Review ranks OU in the top 10 public universities in the nation in terms of academic excellence and cost for students.

For the third time in four years, an OU Debate Team from the Shannon Self Debate Program has won the national championship in debate. The winning team in the Cross Examination Debate Association’s national championship was composed of OU students RJ Giglio and Nick Watts.

OU is a leader among all American universities in the international exchange and study abroad programs. This past year study abroad by OU students increased by 20 percent. OU currently offers programs in over 50 countries and 100 cities in six continents. Students from more than 100 countries are enrolled at OU.

By Chris Cillizza

Suspected Tucson gunman Jared Lee Loughner registered as an independent voter in Arizona in the fall of 2006, according to the Pima County Registrar of Voters.

Loughner registered to vote on Sept. 29, 2006, identifying himself as an independent. Records show he voted in the 2006 and 2008 elections but is current listed as "inactive" on the state's voter roles -- meaning that he did not vote in November.

However, I don't go back to Norman (from Colorado Springs) till Friday which means jogging is REAL out of the question, with ice and snow on the ground. Which causes fun times in the city, as shown by the video of the South Carefree pile-up, which many of you may have seen.

At least, from the Springs, you don't have to go across Independence Pass, or the like. We don't have any appreciable snow/ice in Metro area OKC right now and not much precip forecast between now and Friday.
Have a safe ride.

Beck is on now ... he says 9/11 Truthers are dangerous.

He had one HOSTING HIS SHOW -- Judge Andrew Napolitano!

Cognitive dissonance doesn't matter much to demagogues and morons...

Note to Instapundit and followers: even if you want them to not be crosshairs, those aren't "crop marks, commonly used in printing." The printers call them register marks, because they're used to register CMYK film.

yeha, cropmarks don't have circles, because then

YOU'D SEE THE CIRCLE IN THE THING YOU'RE CROPPING

oh instapundit, if only you had a brain

Think he even knows what a M-1 is?

The rifle, or the tank?

Keeping your nose in the books is always good advice.

Nah, it hurts like hell when someone comes up behind you and slams the book shut.

re: #136 ProLifeLiberal

I'll be the first to admit that I am inhumanly angry at the Teabaggers. Which is a bit of a problem right now because of the fact that I go back to OU on Friday.

Any ideas on how to calm down?

I looked at that picture of Beck with the handgun and thought, "This tough guy has never fired a gun in his life, has he?" Simply awful form, especially the finger on the trigger. It's obvious he got his gun training from TV and the movies.
