Yes, it really is that bad. And it’s not limited to Hoft; notice that he links two other popular wingnut bloggers also freaking out about photos of the President’s hair, Instapundit and Ann Althouse.

We already knew that with this administration everything is staged…
…But, someone please tell me the Obama regime is not this manipulative:

And what’s the first thing you notice — the difference between today and the speech he gave at the memorial? Right. Different color hair. Gray for the memorial, signifying the wise elder, the father figure. Back to dark hair to signify the vigorous young man, ready to forge ahead, solving problems, and restoring his party’s electoral fortunes.

Reader Dennis O. noticed that Obama was obviously more youthful looking in his Saturday Weekly Address before the Tucson pep rally.

Surely there’s a reasonable explanation for all of this?… Surely there is.

There is no facepalm mighty enough. And this one is even too boneheaded for some of Hoft’s commenters:

“Yes, there is a reasonable explanation. It’s called “Different Cameras, Different Lighting.”

You beat me too it. Lighting makes a big difference with gray hair. Especially if you have dark hair. The same thing happens to me.

Exactly. Type of light, ie. source type (mercury, strobe/daylight, fluorescent, tungsten cause metamerism, color temperature, diffuse vs focused will have an effect because of lighting. An additional variable is the capture sensor.

Sorry, I was a photographer for 30 years and also did technical research. This Hoft claim really bugged the cr4p out of me.

Seriously. I put in partial highlights into my hair every 6 weeks or so, and I have to make sure to take care of my hair between appointments so it doesn't turn into a frizzed and dried haystack. No way could someone dye their hair daily depending on if he needed to be a "Youthful Leader" or "Wise Elder". His hair would break and fall out and the damage to his scalp would be severe.

But these people don't get that far in their thinking. It's irritating.

Meanwhile, a reader emailed me the latest dumb post from the stalker blog, concerned that they were releasing information that could compromise the security of LGF.

But it's not a big deal, folks. I posted a picture that showed the name of our home directory on the web server, then removed the picture when I realized the mistake. I deleted it not because it revealed some crucial secret, but because I'm a perfectionist and even though it's not a security risk, I just don't like having that information out there. It doesn't help them hack in or anything like that (much as they would like to). Obscurity is not security.

(The interesting part of them publishing it, though: it shows how obsessively they monitor LGF, and how eager they are to cause me harm.)

My husband and his friends have hair that is just as black as African Americans and when the lights are bright in a certain direction you can see the gray. Take a picture that has the back of their head you can see their bald spots. That's why they love digital cameras and the delete button.

Not only that, but even if it weren't simply lighting . . . 10's of thousands of professional working men routinely color the gray or white out of their hair. . .it's not uncommon for professionals whose appearance is far less of an issue than that of oh, say, the President.

I suspect it's just the lighting too (judging from the photos), but even if it wasn't, SO WHAT? Is this some sort of fantastic revelation to Hoft, to be followed by an expose on how often Palin has her highlights done, or how Ann Coulter jogs solely to trick people into thinking she jogs?!?

My first came to me when someone pointed out how open the requirements for the State of the Union are, and pointed out that the President could do it as an interpretive dance routine if he really wanted.

My image of Obama in green leotards, being the growing American nation, has stayed with me since then.

Now I have an image involving a three-foot purple afro.
