I used to have one 27-28 years ago, but I broke it's neck, accidentally mind you. It grabbed the neighbors kitten by the scruff of the neck and wouldn't let it go, in my panic to get them apart I somehow broke something in his upper spine. My sister had a ferret when I was still living at home. She was hilarious. She spent most of the time sleeping in her cage but when she was let out she'd run all over the place and get into tons of trouble. Her favorite thing was to create little stashes of things all over the place. One time I was watching tv and she kept running back and forth between the kitchen and one of the bedrooms. When I got up to look I saw she had managed to get a cupboard open and was grabbing halloween candy and taking it to her stash under my sisters bed.
A few months after she died my Dad was cleaning out his bottom sock drawer and found a stash of potatoes. Years later when my parents moved they still found stashes of things in the oddest of places. "Oh that's where all the flip flops went...."

re: #45 Jadespring
hahahahahahaha
Max, my ferret, had a habit of completely emptying his food dish within minutes of filling it. He would take the food, a few pellets at a time, and hide it in various places around the house. (Under the fridge, behind the couch, under his blanket in hi hammock) Then he would proceed to beg for more and act like he was DYING of hunger. I used to have to take his food dish away to find out where his various stashes were.
Fun fact: the word "ferret" is derived from the latin "furittus", which means "little thief".

A ferret story - Back when I was single, I shared a house with 3 other guys. One of them worked in a bank and was the straightest-looking guy in the world. But every Friday he'd stop on the way home from work and buy a joint of angel dust-coated weed, bring it home and smoke it in his bedroom.
The same bedroom where he had a cage with two ferrets.
After smoking his joint of angel dust, he'd open the door and unleash his (by then thoroughly dusted) ferrets into the living room, at which time they would attack anything that moved. One day, one of them decided that my leg looked like dinner and latched onto it and started biting for all he was worth.
Luckily, I was wearing jeans. I had to drop-kick the little bugger across the room to get him off of my leg.
I hated those ferrets and at the same time felt really bad for them. Their little brains must have been thoroughly rotted from weekly exposure to angel dust.

Somewhat reminds me of the new kitty in a way.
He will not eat the last dozen bits or so of kibble in his bowl, he just stands next to it and meow/yowls. I guess he is saving those for the upcoming worldwide economic collapse the Right keeps prophesying and the famine that will follow. (I'd ask him specifically but I am not fluent in meorrow? yet.)

seiously, Bush was correct in the sense of being consistent in applying the law of the land as it stood.
I'm not a fan of the death penalty in general. And Bush reportedly was rather inappropriate in a later interview while discussing Karla Fay Tucker.
However, given the way people saw Huckabee after he gave clemency to a guy on the basis of his jailhouse conversion who went on to kill a cop--this is no way to run a death penalty, let's just put it like that.

You know what's funny in a trying not to cry kinda funny? If George Allen has called someone a "macaca" during the 2010 campaign he would have won in a landslide instead of the narrow loss he had back in 2006.
